A/N: So this is a really quick and cheesy Percabeth fanfiction I wrote a while back. I apologize if it's terrible.

Annabeth checked her phone anxiously. It was 8:30, almost an hour since Luke had said they'd meet for dinner. When she bumped into Luke in the library the other day (literally bumped into him, since she couldn't see over the pile of books in her arms), she'd thought he was the perfect guy. He was charming, with his easy smile and quick laugh. He was handsome too, despite the scar that ran along one side of his face. Now, she wasn't sure he was at all the "perfect guy." Who stands someone up on the first date?

"Are you sure I can't get you anything, miss?" the waiter asked her, just as he had for the past hour. He'd been checking in with Annabeth regularly since she'd arrived, since the place wasn't at all busy. He was tall, with jet black hair, sparkling blue-green eyes, and a smile that lit his face up. He had introduced himself as Percy the first time he came by, back when Annabeth didn't feel like a total idiot.

"No, thanks," Annabeth replied, just as she had for the past hour. "My date should be here any minute." Or not, she thought grimly.

"Well, if he doesn't come soon, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave. We close at 9, which is in only fifteen minutes," Percy said sympathetically.

"Can I just…wait here until you close, in case he shows up?" Annabeth asked hopefully, though she knew there was a very slim chance of Luke showing up at this point.

"Of course. Let me know if you need anything," Percy replied and disappeared back into the kitchen.

The minutes ticked away slowly…five…ten… Finally, Percy came back to Annabeth's table and told her they had to close. Her face fell.

"If you wanted, we could…uh, go and find something to eat," Percy offered shyly, a blush spread across his face.

Annabeth smiled at him. "I'd love to."

"So, who's the jerk who stood you up?" Percy asked as they stepped out of the restaurant into the brisk fall air.

"Oh, it was this guy I just met in the library a couple days ago," Annabeth responded. "I shouldn't feel so upset about it, really. It's just that this was my first attempt at dating again after my last relationship, and that ended horribly. He was cheating on me," she awkwardly explained at Percy's curious expression.

He stared at her, disbelief written on his face.

"What?" she asked nervously, looking down at her beat-up converse.

"I just can't believe someone would mistreat a girl as beautiful as you."

She looked at him, surprises, to find he was staring at her earnestly. She stared back, lost in his crystal orbs.

"Sorry, was that cheesy?" he asked, pulling her out of her reverie.

"Ah, just a bit," she admitted. "But I don't mind."

"So, you hungry?" he gestured to the Chinese food restaurant they had stopped in front of.

The rest of the evening was spent eating, talking, laughing, and…there might have possibly (ok, definitely) been a good night kiss.
