'Thoughts'

Parseltongue

Harry was very irritated. Everyone kept talking about him. Barely anyone spoke to him and those who did only asked about his scar or the night his parents were killed. They wanted to know if he remembered that night. One even asked him to describe it. The eleven year old just wanted to go to class and learn.

"Alright that's enough." Fred said as he stepped in front of Harry.

"Leave him alone. Everything you have asked is none of your business and the lot of you are being rude and disrespectful." George helped his brother shield Harry from the other students.

The twins had come to his rescue. They had been in the hall going to their next class when they saw what was happening. Lee also came over. He stood in front of them with his arms crossed. He glared at them.

"Off to class." He told them.

One of the Ravenclaws glared back at him. "You can't make us." He said.

"Yeah. Your not our boss." His friend said.

"No but I can make you." A voice from behind them said.

The person who spoke was another redhead. This one looked to be older than the twins. He was wearing glasses similar to Harry. On his robe was a badge that said prefect. The students sneered at him.

"You can't either. " The ravenclaw said.

"Actually I can. I am a prefect." He said and was about to explain his duties when the kid interrupted him.

"So what?" He didn't understand how that made him his boss.

"So that means he has the right to tell you to go to class." They turned to see professor Mcgonagal. His duty is to look after you and he has the authority to tell you what to do. Fifty points for disrespecting another student, fifty points for disrespecting a prefect, and twenty points for being late. Ravenclaw has lost one hundred and twenty points thanks to you. All those who are late because they decided to harass Mr. Potter has lost their house twenty points. Now get to class." She ordered.

The hall soon emptied leaving behind a few people. Those people were Harry, the twins, Percy, Ron, Lee, and the transfiguration teacher. Harry was relieved.

"Thank you Fred, George."

"You're welcome Harry." George said.

"It was our pleasure." Fred said as he ruffled Harry's hair.

The black haired boy blushed before looking at Lee. "Thank you for helping as well."

Lee grinned at him. "Not a problem fellow lion."

"Thank you Mr. Weasley." Harry said to Percy next.

"It was my pleasure." He smiled at the first year.

Harry looked at Ron. "Thank you for getting professor McGonagall." Even Ron was surprised by this. He didn't know someone saw him leave to go get her.

"Y-you're welcome." He blushed brightly.

"Thank you professor McGonagall." Harry said.

"Of course Mr. Potter." She smiled at them all. "Twenty points each to both the Weasley twins and Mr. Jordan. You were quick to help a first year in trouble."

The three grinned at their head of house. This was why they liked her. Whenever they did do a good deed she gave them points and never accused them of having an ulterior motive. She was also one of the only ones to defend them. If someone got hurt because of a prank she didn't blame them without evidence. She investigated first. Plus they always admitted to the prank if it hurt someone because the three never set out to hurt them. It was usually an accident.

"Twenty points to Percy Weasley for keeping calm when disrespected." She said.

"Thank you professor McGonagall." He said.

"Twenty points to you Ronald Weasley. You did well by getting me when you saw a fellow student in distress."

"Thank you." Ron blushed once more.

"Finally fifty points to Mr. Potter." She said to his shock.

"Me?"

"Yes, you. From what I had seen on my way over and what Mr. Weasley had told me you were being harassed." She said.

"Well yeah."

"Most children your age would have lashed out in fear and in rage yet you stayed calm. I expect that from the older students especially prefects like Mr. Weasley. For staying calm I reward you with points." She explained.

"Oh." Harry was still shocked.

"Mr. Weasley please escort the first years to their next class and explain what happened to the professor." Professor McGonagall ordered.

"Yes ma'am."

"Get inside you three." She said to the third years.

"Yes ma'am." The twins said together.

"Okay professor." Lee said

The trio entered the transfiguration classroom. Their teacher entered a moment later. Percy looked at his little brother.

"I'm really proud of you Ron." He told him.

"You are?" Ron looked stunned.

"I am. You, like my members of our family, are hot headed. You just proved that you can be mature. Mom and dad will be proud."

For the third time Ron blushed. "Really?"

"Yes really. What is your next class?" He asked.

"Potions." Harry replied.

"Alright. Come along."

"Okay." The two first years followed him.

It didn't take long for them to reach the dungeons. Percy had skillfully used shortcuts and secret passageways. Once they reached the right classroom the prefect knocked on the door. Professor Snape opened the door.

"Professor I brought Potter and my brother. They-" He was about to explain when the man cut him off.

"I already heard what happened." He said as he opened the door wider.

"I see. Bye you two."

"Bye Perce."

"Bye."

The two entered the classroom and found some empty seats. They sat down. Meanwhile Percy returned to his room. He quickly wrote his parents a letter. They were going to be so proud of the Twins and Ron. He knew he was.

(Quirrell's Office)

"Talk to me." A voice hissed the order.

"Dumbledore refused to talk about it. All he said was that the situation had been handled." The man answered.

"Damn you." Pain coursed through Quirrell's body. "Did you find out where the boy livesss?"

Quirrell swallowed nervously. "No." Once more pan shot through him. "I'm sorry master. Please forgive me." He pleaded.

"Find me that ssssstone and get me that boy!" The voice yelled.

"Yes master." He whimpered before going to teach his class.

(Dumbledore's office)

Albus finished writing his old friend a letter. Earlier Flamel had gotten in contact with him. He had found a new place to store his stone. It was safer too. On Severus's advice he told no one that the stone had been removed. The man was certain that someone on staff was after the stone. He figured it was most likely for Voldemort.

"Better safe than sorry." Albus said as he sent the letter off.

He didn't think it was possible. The school's wards would have alerted him. Albus still took the advice because just because something wasn't possible didn't mean it couldn't happen. Look at Harry Potter. He survived the killing curse despite the impossibility of that.

"Plus Severus's instincts have proven to be right many times now." He said

What the wizard didn't know was that the wards needed his magic to stay strong. Years of neglect have caused them to wither away. Holes could be found in them and Voldemort had found them. Albus wasn't aware that he had to maintain them because he was never told. The headmaster after the founders didn't want to put the effort into it and figured no one would attack. He never told the next headmaster so the information was lost.
