Rachel nervously fiddled with her pencil during class, waiting for the bell to signal recess. Her mind was already filled with doubts about the questions she was planning on asking the mysterious siblings—would it be weird to ask? Would they simply not know? What if they got offended and thought she was asking because she thought they were weird? She began chewing on said pencil, trying to build up the courage she would need to ask them. It should be simple, really! All she wanted to know was more about the Robot Masters. If they didn't know, they didn't know.

Though… she did find it odd that they never seemed to eat anything. It didn't seem like they wanted to eat. Maybe they were just well-fed at home? But no, with those shabby clothes, they sure looked poor as dirt. What were their parents like? Oh no, did they even have parents? Who took care of them? Someone always picked them up after school, right?

She thought back to what the person who picked the two up looked like. It was definitely a man, but she couldn't remember much of his face, like part of it was obscured. Did he wear sunglasses? And the car… wasn't in the best condition, even from a child's perspective. Her foggy memories of the Mystery Man frustrated her, and she had to put her pencil down before she actually bit the eraser off.

Would it be too invasive to ask them about that man? She honestly didn't know, but she decided she was going to ask anyway. Also about that… 'Proto Man.' They were smart; they'd know about him, right? That was what the girl told herself as the bell rang and she trailed behind the twins on the way to the playground.

Shadow noticed the small girl following Rock and Roll easily. She wasn't even trying to hide it–a terrible spy. But perhaps spying wasn't her intention. He continued to observe her from his place in the shadows, deciding to wait to ping Blues until something notable happened. Nothing bad, of course. He didn't have the Three Laws, or any qualms about harming a human; if need be, he would step in, though he highly doubted a mere child could really do anything to hurt either of the robots.

There was no doubt in his mind that Blues was monitoring the two himself, anyway. He was surely linked up to them, and taking note of their emotions. That was just Blues. He did that to anyone he cared about, which although there weren't many people Shadow could say that about, he would reluctantly admit he was likely one of them. After all, though he could simply block off his emotions from the prototype, the bastard somehow knew how to get in every time, and did. Sure, it was probably out of a vague concern for how the ninja was feeling, but it was quite unnerving at times.

While it would normally be rude to barge into someone's head like that, Blues didn't really force his way in. It was so subtle that Shadow hardly noticed it at times, until the other said something in his mind and scared the living shit out of him. But, he was about the only one who got this treatment. Blues didn't really bother connecting with the other Wily-bots, and he held the rest of his 'family' at a distance, save for the twins. So, in a sense, the ninja was special, if you could call it that.

Speaking of the twins… he narrowed his open eye. This girl was getting very nosy, wasn't she?

Roll noticed their stalker before Rock, strangely enough. Rock was actually easy to sneak up on, despite how long he'd been in combat. It seemed when he was in 'relaxation mode,' he hadn't a care in the world. She, however, was sharper than she looked, and it seemed someone wanted to talk with them. Once they were a safe distance away from the rest of the children, she turned to their visitor, arms crossed.

"So? Why are you following us?" The question wasn't said with any malice, but it could certainly come across as suspicious. And it did, judging by Rachel's cringe. This made Roll's expression soften, and her voice turn to honey once more. "Is there something the matter?"

Rachel paused, and Rock looked on curiously, saying nothing, for once. The girl spoke, and her words made all thought processes within the two robots screech to a halt.

"Um… do you know anything about the Robot Masters? And Proto Man?" The timid girl glanced between them, noticing them stiffen. "I heard about it from my dad. I thought you might know, since you're really smart."

Immediately several pings were sent to Blues, two being from Rock, one from Roll, and another from Shadow. Rock wanted to know what to do, and Blues responded to him after ordering Shadow to send him the feed of what was being said.

Tell her you don't know anything about it. Deny any connection to us.

"W-we don't know anything about that," Rock stated, his nerves clearly showing. He'd always been a terrible liar. Roll mentally elbowed him, insisting on doing the rest of the talking. It seemed to work, though, as Rachel looked down in disappointment.

Then, the girl seemed to brighten up as she remembered she had more questions to ask.

"Who picks you up after school? Is he your dad?" Rock visibly flinched. "Ah… maybe not then. Does he feed you good though? You never eat at lunch. Do you have any other siblings? Pets? Is your da–parent married? Why is he so short?"

Shadow had to hide his amusement at the last part, though he was sure Blues could very well feel it. Really, he shouldn't have been amused, considering the situation, but the jab at Blues being short was funny damn it.

Both siblings recoiled at the intense barrage of questions directed at them, with Roll being the first to speak.

"He's our brother. He feeds us fine, he's not married, and he's tall enough. We have three pets: a dog, a cat, and a bird. We… don't have any other siblings." She was speaking quickly, rapidly running each answer by Blues before she said it. Blues was stoic through their link, concentrating, but the amount of questions about himself made a slight feeling of suspicion slip out. Was this girl somehow connected to the people that wanted them dead?

He also made sure to scold Shadow for finding his shortness funny, even when there was a lot at stake here. Yes, he was short, he knew that. Shadow practically towered over him. But now was not the time.

Rachel went quiet, seemingly out of questions. Roll sighed.

"Is that all you wanted to know?" With a nod for an answer, she turned to Rock, wordlessly discussing the events that had just occurred. Rachel stared as the two seemed to just… space out. When Roll noticed this, she forced a smile and put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "We'd like to be alone, if that's alright."

Though Rachel felt there was still something off about their behavior, she simply nodded and left. All the robots mentally heaved a sigh.

Blues was stressed, to say the least. First and foremost, his siblings were upset, and that meant he had to comfort them. Then there was the reason they were upset. Someone had already been far too nosy, and it hadn't even been a month. If Shadow were an ass, he would be taunting him by now. Of course, he wasn't (much), and was instead just radiating a quietly concerned energy, occasionally nudging Blues in an attempt to alleviate some of the simmering pain in his core that came with stress.

Everyone knew that stress was not good for the First, which was why he tried to keep himself as chill as possible. Now, though, he was regretting his decisions and trying to figure out where to go next, and all of it was taking a toll on him. The guilt for potentially putting his siblings in danger, the ever-increasing paranoia, and the memories of lab tables that kept resurfacing all made his core burn fiercely. He needed a break.

But right now, he needed to drive. He had to brake as to not hit some idiot who thought he had the right-of-way, and had a few close calls before arriving at the school. Letting his siblings in the car, he quickly drove away so the odd girl couldn't see them.

They'd figure out what to do when they got home.
