Q had come here day's ago to see Emily, so far the council had been tight lipped and refused to hear him out but at last they agreed it wasn't fair for a child to be kept from her family. He waited patiently as the council left him alone in the empty space and filed out one by one from the room. It seemed like decades had passed since time wasn't quit so linear in the continuum. It was dull here though as promised Amelia had shaken it up a bit. There was more of a human nature to the continuum now, perhaps in her time here even Emily herself had a hand in that which only proved she had a purpose not only in Janeway's world but in this one as well. It was quiet in this space now that the council had left. A few more moments passed before someone new stepped into the room, an older girl, not really a girl at all. She was a woman, in her early twenties at least with long brown curls and vibrant green eyes. A familiar visage he had remembered from a certain time traveler. "Amelia?" Q was a little confused until it hit him. "Emily, you've grown so much since last we saw you."
"Hello father." Emily smiled at him, long flowing white robes covering her body and billowing from her shoulders. "I've missed you so much." Emily rushed forward and wrapped her arms around Q holding him tight.
"You got old fast, not quite old old but grown up."
Emily stepped back with a little smile. "The Q thought it was easier to deal with me like this rather than as a child." She did a little spin and giggled, a grown woman but with the sparkle and innocents of a child. She still reminded him of that same little girl despite the fact she had physically changed. Flaunting her arm to him she smiled even more. "And look, the restraint is gone, I don't need it anymore. They are teaching me to control my powers without it." Emily clapped her hands and conjured a cup of tea in Q's hands before a flash of light put a cup in her own.
"Impressive young grasshopper, you've come a long way." Q praised his other daughter and took a sip of tea before nodding his head. "I'm proud of you."
Emily's eye's lit up, a smile stretched over her lips at her fathers words of pride in her. He had always been so proud of Amelia but this was the first time he was really proud of her. Thinking of Amelia did remind her of something else however. "Mother, Amelia, how are they both doing?" She was eager to hear news of her mother and sister again. If they were staying out of trouble which was very unlikely.
"Well, Amelia is trying to figure out how to get by without her powers and your mother, is being typical Kathy. She won't stop nagging me about coming back here to bring you home. You know how she gets. I can't spend a single second of the day without having her at my throat. I can't stand it when she's that way, it's infuriating, it's so..."
Emily laughed at him seeing his face get a little red. Since living here Emily realized her father was the only Q who blushed. Then again he was the only Q in love. "You love it father, admit it you do. You always get that look in your eye when she gets angry with you. Sometimes I think that is why you egg her on."
Q smirked knowing his daughter was all too right. "Well." He folded his arms over his chest as the tea cup vanished from his hands. "She is angry when she's beautiful." Q looked a little distant as he thought about her. It wasn't easy for him to be away from his girls, any of them. He just wanted his family back together once more. Be happy like they were before Emily was taken away. He was going to fight until they could have that again. Till then Q would miss Kathy and think of her often sitting in her captain seat with a stern look on her face, in that tight Starfleet uniform, her long slender legs crossed moving up to her shapely hips and tiny little waist. Oh boy, if he kept dwelling on it he was going to need an emergency exit just to kiss that slender little neck of hers. Maybe drop by and catch Amelia right after her nap when she was still a little sleepy but wide eyes and smiley. Grab her little toes which always made her giggle, or silly voices or the simple game of peek a boo which made her light up a room, sometimes literally.
"So, what have you come here for? To visit with me?" She folded her hands behind her back and rocked up upon her toes with a knowing smirk. She was well aware why he was here.
"To bring you home of course. I couldn't go back to Voyager without you at this point. Your mother would throw me out into space if I did. Besides our wedding is soon and I couldn't do it without the whole family being there. That whole family including you Emily. After all, you are my older younger twin child." He laughed considering they called Amelia and Emily twins despite Emily being 'younger' and considering she was also a grown woman now.
"What did they say?" Emily was both excited but also a bit more reserved.
"So far?" Q raised a brow and looked a little disappointed. "Nothing."
She tried not to show any disappointment. Instead moving away a little and folding her hands in front of her. "That's alright, it give's me more time to practice my skills. I'm advancing so much here father, I've learned so much." She had a hopeful tone to her voice.
"Listen, Emily, I won't ever give up on bringing you home." Emily smiled at him, a tear rolling down her face before she stepped forward and threw her arms around his neck. Q was taken back a little, he wasn't use to this whole hugging thing unless it was from Kathy or sometimes Amelia. A hug from Amelia was more of a slobbering on his uniform and poking at his face though. This was a full wholesome loving hug, he liked it. Putting his arms around his little girl he hugged her tight, she would always be his little girl. As he hugged Emily back Q felt a twang of pain in his chest again, they had made Emily grow up. She was his little girl in his heart but he had missed everything. Not just since she had come to Voyager but before that. He was watching Amelia grow up, her first time rolling over, her first time crawling, her first time standing. Q didn't get that with Emily, no first steps, no first words. Q felt he had been robbed on so many levels, hadn't gotten the chance to hold her when she was a crying baby like Amelia or see her first breath. Theoretically he could turn back the time tables of her life, go right over to having Emily born side by side with Amelia and spring actual twins on Janeway, do it all over but it wouldn't be right to erase all they had been through.
Holding Emily a little tighter Q made a promise he would never miss another first in Emily's life, so long as they were both mortal or Q.
