The brunette's eyes were burning, exhaustion had finally replaced the adrenaline that was pushing her thus far. Janika was starting to become edgy, the pulsing lights and dreamlike atmosphere made the woman feel like she wasn't inhabiting her own body. Even the all together foreign odors of her new surroundings that filled her nostrils didn't make sense. Of course the scent of her friend she recognized as a leathery one was obvious, the other took a while to decipher. "Burnt electricity" Janika thought of as it wafted up her nose, along with other notes of a strange alien origin.
All these things made the brunette feel out of place, but at this point could it be any other way? No, this was her reality. She had only one thing that made her feel any kind of sanity at this very moment, any semblance of order, her baby. Everything else was a gamble, but her child was the only thing she would bet her life on. Her baby was held so close that the brunette could feel his tiny heart beating against her own, the connection surpassing physical. Janika surrounded the tiny alien baby with her very soul, drawing courage from this tiny life force to keep pushing until their future was more certain.
The brunette's mind was awash with not knowing what the hell to do next. Janika knew she was in no immediate danger, but my goodness this was off the charts different. Being alone in an alien bedroom with an alien was beyond anything she's ever had to think about. She was in her own little world when she heard a familiar rumble emanating from her smokey savior...Kreb.
Now aware, and being calmed by the purr of her friend trying to convey reassurance Janika forced herself back to her senses and focused on the large alien. The brunette's green eyes found his grey ones and she gave him a half hearted smile, only because it was all the strength that could be gathered from her reserves to give at this moment.
"What now" the brunette breathed out heavily, making herself jump with the sound of her own voice, as if she didn't expect it. The steady purr from Kreb filled the space between them, he was determined to calm the woman.
Her friend didn't say a word, but took the woman's hand and ran it through the soft furs on the bed in tandem with his own. Janika understood that he meant to show her that it was ok to feel safe, that all this belonged to her.
Indeed it worked, the warmth from his weathered skin in contrast with her own softer flesh was like a perfect balance. The feeling of security and guidance he was showing the brunette made her relax enough take in the surroundings a bit more.
"He prepared this for me" Janika thought with a sense of amazement as her eyes wandered around the room, finally locking onto a small piece of furniture placed right beside the bed. It was tiny "crib" for her baby! It was the very first thing she knew was perfectly right for him.
Janika hesitantly unlaced her hand from Kreb's slowly, lingering at his clawed fingertips for just a second too long before she broke contact and walked around the circular shaped sleeping pallet. Stopping to look at the one of the best things she had ever been given and unwrapped the tiny bundle that was secured to her. He was still sound asleep, and the brunette delicately placed her baby into the cradle.
She never imagined such a simple thing could open her eyes any more than they were at this point, as if having contact with aliens wasn't the epitome of her existence.
Her baby looked devine, he looked exactly as he should be nestled in the russsian blue colored furs. The baby's maroon brindling was enhanced by the shades of silver and grey that flecked the bedding and Janika burned the image into her mind. It was the smallest of things, but to the brunette it was a blessing, one she was ashamed to say might never have happened if they stayed on earth.
Until this point she had done her best to give the tiny baby things she thought were good enough for him. The feeling of incompetence not ever knowing exactly what she should provide for him as his mother always stayed in her mind though. Now that Janika had been given this opportunity to care for her baby as he should be her spirits started to rise.
Just as Janika was ready to turn around and thank her friend the air had changed, literally and figuratively.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and a nervous exitement settled in her stomach. She could feel him, scent him. Looking over her shoulder Janika saw his tall outline in the doorway.
It was like the changing of the guards. No longer was Kreb in the room with her but another, larger entity had filled his void. For a split second the brunette fumed with anger at her friend's hasty departure, she was hurt he didn't say goodbye before practically handing her off to another alien.
"Are you going to stand there all night? I'm tired, hungry and if you don't mind I'd like to get some rest before my baby wakes up"
At this point Janika had been through too much. She was well aware of the help that was being extended to her but she was also deserving of more than being gawked at from afar.
The brunette turned to face her friend's replacement. "Damnit..I like him too much!" Janika internally scolded herself. That's when she understood why she felt a little fire when she looked at him. This shouldn't be easy for him, who the hell did he think he was? Besides she wasn't here to do anything but raise her son, and maybe get to spend more time with her friend Kreb. Her thoughts were interrupted by another form of rumbling...it had been almost a full day since the brunette had eaten anything.
"Well, In or out? Assuming the quiet storm of an alien was going to leave Janika asked him where to find something to eat before he ditched her too.
"I said I was hungry..any idea where I can get some food?" Janika raised her hands in "well" gesture and watched as the alien pretended not to understand her. "Oh really" she thought with an evil idea, if he was going to act stupid she was going to return the favor.
The brunette probably shouldn't have made a hand to mouth gesture sarcastically, but it spurred him to life. It took him all of three pounding steps to get directly in front of the brunette. Before Janika knew it the large alien had a tight grip on her upper arm and started pulling her towards the doorway.
"No way you're tossing me off this ship now asshole!" Janika hissed as she tried to twist her arm free. Certaintly the alien wasn't going to retaliate for her disrespect by throwing her into the void of space to die, was he? He was like a brick wall as she struggled like a trapped animal to wrestle herself free. Panicked at the thought of her baby waking up without her to be there for him the brunette lost her mind.
The woman made a guttural noise and her free arm tensed as she amped her muscles to form a fist smashing it across the alien's right webbed cheek. It hurt her more than him, and the pain in her hand didn't register until after Janika was dragged kicking and screaming from the room. Then the sensation of being lifted and swung under the alien's arm being taken towards an unknown destination furthered her intensity.
The brunette tried everything, more kicking, punching, even trying to bite any part of the alien that she could. He held her tightly against his heated body allowing her just enough room to draw a breath, effective in keeping her from attempting more strikes.
Their short walk came to an abrupt halt with the brunette being tossed on her ass to the floor not too gently.
By now Janika was looking and feeling like a wild animal. She was sweating and panting, starving and ready to get back up to attack her target once again.
As soon as she went to get up she cried out in pain, and closed her eyes willing the tears to not come. It was too late, the massive alien pulled her up by both her wrists with one of his hands and the tears flowed freely now. It felt like he swinging her in a circle, and all of a sudden Janika was plopped on a soft surface.
Wincing as her bruised bottom made contact with the cushion she was afraid to open her eyes even a little, but she needed to see him coming. Janika refused to give him the satisfaction of her not being defiant in her last moments. Cracking her left eye open slightly the brunette saw something unexpected, a table with what appeared to be food. Blinkng her blurry eyes fully open she had to rub them to make sure this wasn't a mirage.
It wasn't a trick, small portions of what looked to be exotic fruits and meats were spread out before her. Janika wasted no time snatching up the first thing that appeared to be edible, a round purple piece of produce that was the size of a baseball. Not caring what the red and cream colored alien would think of her while she devoured the sustenance, the brunette chomped down into the supple offering and was elated at how delicious it tasted. It was like a cross between an apple and a grape, full of sweet juice that quenched some of her thirst too.
Feeling eyes pierce into the back of her skull Janika didn't hesitate to turn around this time. With a mouth full of half crewed fruit she watched him as he stood unmoving, leaning almost casually against the wall...staring at her again! As soon as she narrowed her eyes in irritation the large alien growled revealing sharp pointed teeth caged buy tusks that had to be at least five inches long. The sight caused the brunette to gulp down the rest of her food and think "Was he just threatening me?"

Sao'yan was surprisingly amused at the ooman female's capacity for violence. Although she was no where near the levels of his own kinds opposite sex it still gave him a thrill to in fact find a challenge in her.
Perhaps the ooman didn't realize she had just issued the prelude to a "mating" dance of sorts. With that thought put far away into Sao'yan's psyche the cream and red yautja knew it was time to approach his female.
The yautja didn't want to return her advances of mating..not now at least. The ooman needed to understand that his intentions were honorable, and the more she bucked like a wild ris'par beast from yautja prime the longer it would take for him to not treat her like one.
Sao'yan never broke eye contact as he stepped purposefully towards his female. A part of him still seething from her disrespect made his natural instincts broadcast dominance, and the low vibrating hisses couldn't be stopped from escaping his throat.
Closing in on the last step between them she seemed much more docile. Her wide eyes looked up at him and he hesitated. Sao'yan knew if he didn't put her on notice now while the ooman was somewhat calmer the chance might not come soon enough again for him.
Raising his large clawed hand slowly he reached for the ooman's hair. The red and cream colored yautja hesitated as his female flinched away, but a small purr brought her back to him.
Sao'yan took a lock of her ooman hair in between his fingers and admired the alien softness of it. Sensing his female's defensiveness fade, the yautja let go of her hair and took ahold of her jaw. Feeling her pulse spike the he instinctually purred deeper and caressed her cheekbone with the pad of his thumb.
Taking control of her movement the yautja tilted his ooman's head back so she was only able to see him. Sao'yan had only one ooman word for the female whose life he held in his hands right now.
"Mine."

Janika was left speechless. His hand felt like sunburn on her already over heated skin, and her breath hitched.
The woman's heart pounded beneath her flesh, she wasn't frightened anymore. Reaching her hand to grasp at his thick wrist the brunette pushed out the breathless words..
"Yes, I'm yours."
