Chapter 16 Captured
Kate's P.O.V.
My patience has grown to an all time maximum as every second, minute, hour, and day that goes by without my future mate next to me. The guilt that was hidden from determination deep inside my chest quietly began to beat alongside my heart. Everytime when situations get tough, I manage to reverse all my problems while searching for Humphrey back on myself as the reasoning. Truth be told this is all my fault and I could be the possible sequence to why Humphrey's probably dead. I should've loved him better and begged him to stay while I could, watching him leave that day pierced a hole in my heart that's still there now. At this rate my inner loving side for Humphrey is declining as the summer days turn into weeks. Nightmares and unrealistic fantasies of us together haunts me. My harsh dreams always take a turn and remind me about how stuck up an alpha I was that was full of her responsibilities to let a loving wolf slip away. Most times I can't help but feel as if I never deserved Humphrey in the first place. Maybe this was destiny keeping us apart for the better. What I do know is that I can't live without him and I'm not looking forward to my parents hooking me up with some males in our pack. The thought of Lilly married to Garth with her own pups someday kills me inside that I'll never know what that feels like. My rain cloud only gets darker when I'm realizing all this now when it's far too late to make a difference. All those months I pushed Humphrey in the friend zone purely focused on being an elite alpha to make my parents proud; he was building up the courage to impress me. Back then I found it silly and funny knowing about Humphrey's typical shenanigans, but now that I realize I love him it's incredibly sweet. I just want one more chance to make things right and love him the way I should have.
After I saw a flash brief of a greyish furred wolf hop in a humans truck a smile submerged my face for the first time in days. Ever since then I've been locked-in laser focused on the scent trail and the mysterious she-wolf that's tagging along. I'm not sure why she's following alongside but if it is Humphrey I don't need her rubbing off on him this early. But for all I know I could already be passed too late to change his love perception. Our searching group were walking decently quiet other than small chatter from Emily and Hutch from time to time. For nearly three hours straight my honey eyes stared forward to his scent, mentally unable to be distracted. The dirty blond fur on my body stuck up boldly resisting the refreshingly cool summer breezes. My ears were perked high for better listening for anything remotely close to Humphrey or danger. A stern dedicated look was on my face as my paws pushed through the fallen leaves of the misty timberlands. Short after four minutes I felt a sprinkles of rain drops but nothing more intimidating to halt our search. Hutch paced up beside me panting a little as he limped staring me down to ask a question. I strictly ignored his presents and kept my eyes forward on my primary mission.
"H-Hey uh Kate...maybe we should fi-"
"No!...we stay on the trail and keep searching" I interrupted bluntly without giving eye contact and I heard him gualp.
"But Kate listen we're all tired and have been walking for hours we need a place to rest and can search for him first in the morning….you especially need rest too Kate...you've been awake longer than any of us this last week" Hutch spoke up hesitantly and I shrugged him off.
"Speak for yourself I am not tired..besides...your tiredness is not my problem" I said in a matter of factly tone, jumping over a fallen log, and sliding carefully down a small rocky hill. Hutch paused for a second atop and I could sense his angry glaring.
"What the hell is wrong with you?...you're not acting like the caring Kate I know" Hutch said upset by remarks but it did no dividends to me only made me sigh in annoyance.
"Look..no one is stopping you from finding a place to rest...I'm gonna keep searching for Humphrey if its the last thing I do with or without your help" I said sternly resuming my walking not willing to stop for anyone.
"That's pretty selfish of you Kate...Humphrey definitely wouldn't have liked this side of you" Hutch replied and I felt a spark ignited inside me. I growled deeply turning to snarl at him but he stood his ground unfazed.
"You don't know what you're talking about..I'll advise you to shut up if you know what's good for you" I growled ready to pounce if he shows any aspiration to continue. Emily and my grandmother must've heard my growling and was quick to check out our commotion.
"Hey hey what's going on here between you two?" Emily asked turning looks between the two of us.
"Kate just threatened to me keep quiet about Humphrey even though she's acting selfishly...she wants to keep searching for him in the rain without us" Hutch explained and all the attention turned to me.
"Kate sweetie is this true?" Grandma asked with a rising concerned tone.
"I don't need you Hutch...I-I don't need any of you and I'm finding him with or without you all and that is the END of our discussion" I sternly said turning swiftly nudging my nose to the ground to search for Humphrey's scent before the rain washes it out.
"I can't believe Humphrey loved a selfish heartless alpha...he's lucky to not have someone like you he deserves better" Hutch said and my pupils turned black before I charged full speed ready to shred him limb from limb.
I launched myself at Hutch as he cowardly backed away and Emily quickly stood in front of him taking my impact. Emily and I rolled around on the ground as a few whimpers escaped her muzzle. I rose back on all four paws growling and barking at Hutch as Emily used all her strength to hold me back.
"KATE STOP THIS MADNESS YOU'VE GROWN INSANE!" Emily squealed out but my mind was purely focused on killing the retreating Hutch.
"LET..ME..GO!" I shouted slapping her muzzle to free myself as she groaned painfully at the four small bloody cuts. I took advantage of my hit and chased after Hutch wanting to taste his blood.
"Kate no!" Grandma called running after me in efforts to stop my intentions but I was well too fast for her age.
The chased didn't take long from the fact he's still slightly injured from the human incident. I lead Hutch into backing up a tree cornered with nowhere to run as I crouched closer to him in a crouched position.
"Kate look at yourself look what you're becoming!...you think Humphrey would have wanted to see you like this!?" Hutch exclaimed trying to talk himself out of this one but I ignored his voice.
"If you kill me what would Humphrey think of you then?...you think he would trust you after you murdered your puppyhood pack member?" Hutch asked in his one last final attempt to stop me but my mind was already made up.
I growled deeply and launched myself at Hutch only to feel a sharp pain in my neck and my body fell to the ground numb. I was gasping for air, unable to move at my own will as my vision began to blur in and out of focus. My anger quickly switched to confused fear and uncomfortable dominance. I felt myself being trapped in my own mind of darkness with no escape. All my senses came back to me as Hutch was surrounded by a group of growling wolves. There's no explanation for what came over me and I can't believe I almost killed my alpha school partner and pup hood friend. Hutch head was slammed against a tree by a bigger wolf knocking him unconscious immediately. They then dragged his body away seconds later as a jet black muscular wolf hovered over me smiling devilishly.
"Hello theeerrrreeee" He sung in a wicked crackled deep voice.
"Who-Who are you and why can't I move?!" I panickedly said beginning to freak out, trapped in my own body to no escape.
"The more you struggle the more numb you'll become so I'll advise you to stop moving...oh...and don't worry you'll only be paralyzed for several hours" He said informatively, standing tall showing off his defined furry muscles.
"Who are you?" I repeated again for a clear explanation to why they're capturing us.
"You don't need to know much about me...I am irrelevant...what's important is...you know where someone is that I want and you will lead me to my target" He said leaning his muzzle down closer to my face with a sharp smile.
"What target?...I'm not searching for anyone...I'm just trying to find my way back home" I lied with a slight whimper when I felt his claws stroll up my body nearly piercing skin.
"Lying would only make things worse my gal...I heard your little cute argument a while ago and luckily we were here to stop you from doing any damage before we could ourselves...we couldn't let you have all the fun can we?...hmm..for a gal your size to successfully take on a bigger alpha male might has earned you a spot as my potential mate" He said seductively checking me out while chuckling deeply near my twitching ears.
"I would rather die than to become your filthy mate!" I declared trying to spit in his face but my head was too numb to do any movement.
"Wrong choice..." He said as his facial expressions fell dull and his claws began to tamper with nerves in my body signaling pain. I cried out in pure fear mixed with agony as uncontrolled tears streamed down my face.
"Okay okay stop p-please!" I cried out to him for mercy which he obeyed with a smirk.
"You WILL help me find Humphrey and you WILL turn him into me...AND!...become my future mate to be the mother of my unborn pups" He said wickedly glaring at me as I cowarded down uneasy.
"An-And if I refuse?" I sniffled as more tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.
"I will kill everything you ever loved...starting with them" He said revealing the other wolves had Emily and my Grandmother tied up and unconscious as well.
"The choice is yours….." He said, placing his muzzle by my neck and began to creepily sniff my scent heavily.
"O-okay whatever you w-want just don't hurt us...please" I said shakily, feeling my world spin not know what kind of trouble I got myself in.
"Oh my sweet darling the agony has just begun" He said chuckling deeply before swatting his massive paw at my head knocking me out cold.
Almost A Week Later Near Canada…
It's been several days since the hunting incident and both Humphrey & Alex's health has been progressing to the better. They've settled down in the shelter Humphrey quickly found after the great escape to give their bodies time to heal before moving on. The injuries weren't too major to not put pressure on it but they didn't want to risk the chance. Luckily for the duo's survival, there were plenty of rabbits to hunt, and a small pond to drink after the recent cloud showers. This current situation helped them grow a little more closer as the duo intentionally comforted and aided each other throughout the week. However, during the week small competitive workouts between them still occurred to minorly stay in shape. It was always laughs and jokes between the two which made them extraordinary beta couple; and only omegas could make fun and games out of literally anything that comes to mind. The workouts were never too serious or intense to the point of lost interest regardless of their health limitations. At times the duo would forget they're even staying fit just by enjoying each other's company.
Swimming exercises would form into full blown splash offs, limited tree squatting would change to who can do the most while injured, and paced jogging turned into gassing whimpering sprints. Even though the couple's exercises were friendly challenges the competitive demeanor between them overall made training fun. The duo was sprinting up a steep snowy mountain laughing alongside each other feeling the cool refreshing breeze travel through their fur. Paw steps could be seen creased in the melting snow that lead a pathway uptop the mountains peak. The laughing pair of running wolves were neck to neck determined to beat one another in a small harmless race. Humphrey pulled out in front surprisingly at the last second; but before he reached the finish, Alex tossed a snowball at him. The snowball hit his back and Humphrey yelped tumbling to a stop deeply underneath the snow. Alex laughed hysterically running right past him up the mountain to take first place.
"Hey you cheated!" Humphrey shouted chuckling trying to force his head out the levels of snow.
"There's no rules in racing slowpoke!" Alex yelled back laughing before disappearing above the mountain top. Humphrey laughed to himself ready to take off full sprint to try and regain the lead until a special memory caught his gaze.
Humphrey's facial expressions loosened to a saddened stare to the realization of where he was. Flashbacks of Kate and him running away from those three bears on this same mountain played out in his head like a movie. Humphrey walked over slowly to the edge of the mountain and seen the former ripped tree bark they used to escape the superior predators. He could hear Kate's frightened voice in his head as they fell down the mountain. Humphrey own voice came into play when he asked Kate if she trusts him to leap over the bear into his dangerously sliding log. A gallon of tears began to fog his eyes after the playback of Kate and him crash landed in the boxcar laughing about their near death experience. He promised himself he could move on from Kate but he can never forget the love he once had for her no matter how hard he tries.
"I wish we could've worked something out.." Humphrey mumbled to himself as a tear leaked down his face.
"Humphrey!...where are you!...I'm sorry I-"
"Humphrey!" Alex shouted filled with relief she finally found him, running over to his side in an instant. Humphrey quickly rubbed his icy eyes full of tears but his sniffling gave himself away.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you sad...I thought it'll be funny" Alex sympathetically said nuzzling his neck and licking his muzzle lovingly for comfort. Humphrey uncomfortably scooted one spot away clearing his throat confusing Alex.
"I'm not sad a bug flew in my eyes" Humphrey shrugged away but Alex wasn't buying it one bit.
"I said I'm sorry...it won't happen again I promise" Alex said flattening her ears on her head but Humphrey didn't respond this time. By the look on his face she could tell this was deeper than what she did to him.
"You're not sad because of me...it's something else...isn't it?" Alex softly said trying to glare in his tearful icy blue eyes but Humphrey kept rejecting her gaze.
"No it's nothing I swear...I think I got a face full of those killer eating-"
"Humphrey you don't have to lie to me...you can tell me anything you know that right?...what's bothering you?" Alex asked scooting closer massaging her silky fur on his masculine one; soothing whatever little bit of worry he had. Humphrey paused for another moment staring off in the distance before saying.
"Nothing is bothering me Alex I'm fine" Humphrey said hiding the emotion in his voice but Alex could see right through it.
"I'm not stupid Humphrey you're obviously upset by something now tell me!" Alex demanded for the truth with seriousness in her tone.
"Tell you what I'm not upset!" Humphrey defended matching her intensity growing angry from her relentlessness.
"Yes you are why can't you just tell me the truth!?...do you not trust me?!" Alex yelled beginning to become frustrated.
"I do but why can't you just respect my privacy!?" Humphrey shot back in a louder tone, finding his own argument.
"It's because I love you and w-we're together so I have a right to know these things!" Alex shouted back to him and then Humphrey's face began to soften.
"I can't tell you or you're gonna get mad" Humphrey said the last part in almost a whisper. Alex calmed down a little from her outrage once she saw him crumble again I'm sadness.
"I don't want to argue anymore...I want what's best for you...for us...and we can't keep a healthy relationship if we hide things from each other...now please...tell me" Alex said entwining her fluffy tail with Humphrey's hoping to ease the truth out of him.
"I miss her" Humphrey quickly said staring down at the melting snow.
"What?...miss who?" Alex asked softly confused by his fast wording.
"Kate...I still miss her...I thought I could move on but I can't stop thinking about her….we shared a memory here on this very same mountain maybe a month ago when we were trying to find our way back home...now she's implanted in my head again and I can't get her out" Humphrey finally admitted and now it was Alex's face turn to soften.
"I..I don't know what to say…" Alex spoke up.
"See I knew you would be mad at me and if you want to leave you have every ri-"
"No!..leaving you is never becoming an option Humphrey and I'm not mad at you just a little taken back...after all this is my fault for pressuring you into becoming my boyfriend when you weren't ready to move on yet" Alex said laying her ears flat on her head staring down the mountain at the sunrise.
Silence stood upon them as they were both too hesitant to reply to their sudden confessions; scattered birds in the distance, and running vehicles on the road below was the only sounds between the couple. They stared deeply at the beautiful view from atop the high mountain that show nature in its purest form. Alex slightly turned to look at Humphrey to see that he felt horrible inside.
"Ar-Are you and I a mistake?" Alex finally spoke up from her darkest grave, begging him to decline her question is true.
"Listen..if I didn't want to be more than friends...we would still be friends...this is a hill I just have to get over" Humphrey said with uncertainty in his tone as his entwined tail gripped Alex's tighter.
"Besides...you've done things Kate has never done for me" Humphrey said with a hint of playfulness in his voice, forcing a temporary smile on her face.
"And what's that?" Alex asked smirking leaning her muzzle closer to his with half lidded eyes.
"Saved me from wolf eating clouds" Humphrey grinned awarding himself with a loud cute laugh from Alex.
"Look there's one now!" Alex said in a shocked expression pointing upwards to the morning orange colored clouds.
"Ahh the horror!..don't worry I'll save you!" Humphrey bravely said tackling Alex down beside him which caused her to squeal surprised. The duo shared a much needed laugh together before finally calming down staring into each other's eyes while lying on their backs.
"My silly omega...I love you" Alex sweetly said licking his nose passionately and Humphrey gratefully accepted her affection.
"I love you too Husky" Humphrey said grinning widely leaning in for a kiss and soon she followed his lead closing her eyes.
*TRAIN HORN*
Both Humphrey and Alex's eyes widened as they quickly moved onto all fours staring down the passing train home.
"Shit we're gonna miss the train!" Alex said watching it pass down the mountain at a respectable distance away from them.
"Not if I have anything to do with it" Humphrey said trotting over to a nearby tree bark.
"But Humphrey there's no way we'll get there in time by running" Alex said following close behind him until he stopped by a tree. Humphrey turned around and used his now stronger hind legs to kick the loose bark off the tree.
"That's why we're sliding instead" Humphrey said wiggling his brows while picking up a stick closest to him.
"Ugh not this again" Alex sighed palming her muzzle with her paw trying to hide the small smile on her furred face.
"This is our only option...unless you have something better ALL ABOARD THE SEXY MASCULINE EXPRESS TOOT TOOT!" Humphrey jokingly shouted pushing the log over the decently sized cliff hill hopping in. Alex laughed at his playfulness with an intense wagging tail before saying.
"That's a horrible name for a ride ya know?" Alex asked rolling her eyes sitting in front of Humphrey inside the log.
"That may be true but yet you are my first passenger" Humphrey winked, leaning in for a quick kiss but Alex playfully pawed his face away.
"Hey eyes on the road" Alex giggled holding onto the log for safety measures ready for him to move it.
"Will do then...the sexy masculine express isssssssssssssss-"
"Humphrey…." Alex said pretending to be annoyed but she honestly loves his shenanigans and joyous humor in tough situations.
"OFF!" Humphrey shouted pushing the log with a stick sending them flying down the mountain crashing into the layers of snow.
Log sledding went much smoother considering they're both enjoying the dangerous stunt this time around. Sounds of tremendous exhilaration echoed beyond the valley as the duo pleased themselves moving nearly 40 mph down the steep mountain. The refreshing air was blowing harshly through their meshed fur as a pair of tongues danced along to the wind. Humphrey guided the log swaying side to side avoiding sudden death by boulders or fallen trees effortlessly. He even went as far as flipping the stick in style he used to steer, spinning the log in fancy circles. This shows how much Humphrey mastered the art he created and this is only the beginning. An empty boxcar ahead was spotted and he angled the log perfectly for it, gazing down the target seeking the perfect moment
"Okay on go we jump!" Humphrey shouted over the blowing wind tossing the stick away preparing to jump.
"What?!...are you trying to kill us?!" Alex shouted looking back at him as her excitement turned into doubtfulness.
"I don't know...are you willing to die with me?!" Humphrey shouted staring in Alex slightly fearful eyes before winking at her.
"Hump-"
"GO!" Humphrey interrupted launching himself forward after the long stubbed into a rock sending the unaware Alex flying screaming in terror.
Humphrey landed clumsily in the boxcar laughing his face off at the amazing experience of logg sledding once again. That was by far the steepest mountain he's ever went down and felt accomplished he survived his biggest stunt yet. If only his friends were here to witness it themselves, they would never believe he pulled it off TWICE!
"That was totally awesome" Humphrey chuckled covered in a bundle of hay right next to carts carrying fruits and vegetables. He shook all the itchy hay away from his body and his eyes widened in worry.
"Humphrey help another train is coming!" Alex yelled as she tried to pull herself up in the boxcar but her slippery claws wouldn't allow her to.
Humphrey quickly ran in front of Alex and used all his newly formed muscles to pull her up from the scruff of her neck to safety. However, he used a little too much strength because he she clumsily landed on top of him from his forceful pulling. Just in the nick of time the train passed swooshing the opposite direction blowing harsh wind at them from the speed it traveled. The two eyed the train passing that could've ended in a catastrophe then back at each other glad that it didn't.
"Well look at who's on top of who now" Humphrey teased with half lidded eyes leaning in for a kiss.
*SMACK*
"Ow!...what was that for?" Humphrey asked puzzled while holding his cheek from the small painful slap that left minor marks.
"Why on earth would you just jump like that!?...you could've gotten yourself killed!...or me because matter-of-factly I almost died!" Alex yelled upset from his actions that should've lead to much worse.
"But I didn't...I do this all the time it's fun when someone's not overreacting" Humphrey defended himself in a soft tone to not start another argument but that only fused the fire.
"Overreacting!?...I nearly died and you say I'm overreacting?!" Alex growled deeply with a louder tone and Humphrey flattened his ears.
"This isn't some type of game Humphrey how can you not understand that?!...putting yourself in a dangerous position to die as in jumping out of a fucking moving log down a steep mountain is fun to you?!" Alex continued on as all her blood flowed to her head.
"We didn't die because we are a team remember?...I wouldn't have done it if I wasn't sure I could save you if it possibly goes wrong" Humphrey said as he felt like he screwed up and joking out of this wasn't gonna save him this time.
"So that means you could just play with my life?...I thought you loved me?" Alex asked glaring down in icy blue eyes with fiery.
"That's not how I meant it and of course I love you" Humphrey said staring in her hazel eyes to show his trustworthy.
"It sure doesn't seem like it" Alex scruffed away from uptop of him and walking to the boxcar door sitting down staring out at nature.
There was a long awkward silence between them as neither of the duo had anything left to say to each other. Humphrey felt like his heart was twisting inside even though his planned worked out fully. He couldn't imagine the horror if he wasn't able to save Alex in time from his dangerous stunt. As the day goes by Humphrey realized he hadn't been such a good boyfriend lately. To name things off he's still thinking about Kate and their possible future, all while being with Alex who wants a future with him. Also to mention he's been hiding that secret away from her for the past week, and now he nearly gotten Alex killed by being too risky of a daredevil. It felt like it was only right for Humphrey to be a lone wolf, for him to get lost out in the timberlands for no one to depend on. That way he would cause no one else danger but himself. Kate never loved him enough to call off a forceful marriage and he's too much of an omega to take life seriously. All Humphrey could process out of everything is that his life is a total fuck up in the making. After thirty minutes of total silence Humphrey knew they'll have to talk this out eventually, hopefully, Alex is cooled down and wont lash at him. He took a small deep sigh and got off his belly and slowly walked beside her laying down. Alex continued to stare down out the boxcar with her head on her paws purposely ignoring him.
"Listen I…*sighs*..I understand that you're upset with me and you have every right to be...you were right..*cleats throat*..what I did was very dangerous and could've lead to much worse scenarios if I couldn't help you...I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I was the reason you weren't here anymore Alex...I'm sorry I'm not the serious alpha you want me to be it's not in my blood and probably never will be...but I'm willing to change for you…I'm sorry it took you to yell at me for me to realize your love for me is genuine...I never knew what that felt like until now...I'm s-sorry...I haven't been the best mate lately and you deserve better...I'm nothing but an omega coyote in an alpha disguise" Humphrey quoted and snuck a peek at Alex to see she's still looking away but her ears were flattened.
Humphrey was hoping she would say a word, anything, even the slightest noise, but her lips were dried shut. The more he laid next to her in silence the more he felt guilty for his stupid actions. Soon after he began to wonder if his apology even meant anything to Alex or was she still furious. Humphrey stood up from his belly and began to walk back to his original spot until he was firmly grasped into a tight warm hug. He was surprised that his apology actually worked, but he definitely didn't question it and accepted her hug. Alex dug her head into Humphrey's chest fur feeling the thirty minutes worth of tears beginning to break it's walls.
"You don't have to change who you are for me and you're far much more than some omega coyote...you're my silly dumb alpha...my whole point is I-I want you to be more careful...I don't want to lose you..Humphrey" Alex said teary as her soft sweet voice shakened to the many emotions she held in.
"So you aren't mad at me anymore?" Humphrey asked feeling his ears perk up and a grin on his face.
"I never was mad at you just worried...but...please don't pull a stunt like that again" Alex said gazing up at the smirking Humphrey with those pair of teary hazel eyes, and held one paw up and crossed his heart before saying.
"I promise on behalf of my overly sexy masculine grandfather that's been passed down for generations I will not attempt to such a pitiful stunt again...or else I have betrayed my annsors and shall be shunned into-"
"Humphrey" Alex whined rolling her eyes unable to hold her laugh.
"Okay okay sorry...I won't let it happen again" Humphrey chuckled, hinting the playful honor in his voice.
"Good.." Alex smiled connecting Humphrey in a long meaningful kiss entwining her tail with his. When Alex pulled away with a sleepy gaze and cheesy smile she noticed the three bloodied small claw marks on his glistening muzzle.
"It only stings when you stare at it" Humphrey chuckled, and Alex ears laid flat on her head.
"Sorry Humphrey...I didn't mean to hurt you" Alex apologetically said in the sweetest voice known to innocents.
"It's okay I deserved it...next time if I pull a stunt like that I say you bite my tail" Humphrey said nuzzling between Alex's flat ears and they perked up with a laugh to follow.
"I will bite you regardless I'm the better alpha" Alex teased playfully biting around his neck making Humphrey chuckled deeply.
"In your dreams Husky" Humphrey chuckled escaping Alex's playful grasp around his neck nuzzling her nose lovingly.
Alex admired Humphrey's muzzle and slowly began to lick his small bloodied cuts on his face. Humphrey flinched at the sharp pinchy pain but that didn't stop him from forming a passionate grin. After all maybe Humphrey did find the right girl for him, it feels great to have someone lovingly always by your side even when you fucked up. Kate has already tried to ditch him once when he got distracted by a gas station cupcake. Throughout the entire journey Alex hasn't shown any signs of leaving his side even when Humphrey asked her to. He's been avoided and counted out his entire life thus far but the fact Alex refuses to depart him means much more than any could imagine. Everything must come to an end eventually and Humphrey is committed to spend all his years time with his loving Husky. The loud roar of the train horn snapped him out his thoughts and his icy eyes inverted to Alex. She was sleeping peacefully on his paws finally catching up on the much rest she needed after a long night of traveling. Humphrey decided a little nap wouldn't harm him until noon so he laid his head on Alex's soft furry neck. Before he dozed into a good nap, his thoughts somehow maneuvered to Kate, and what's she's probably doing in the now United packs. A lucky guess would be creating pups with Barf, but Humphrey thought maybe someday he should visit with his own pups. Well if it's even possible mating with a Husky and successfully delivering a litter of healthy pups of course. But as of now he's a little more focused on getting the girl he loves back home once again and this time it'll hopefully be a happier ending.
