Hello everyone !

Many thanks for all the people who supported this little poor story, reading your comments and notes made me super happy and was a huge push for me as a very smull writer.

As you may notice, This was a horrible one-shot , when i tried to read it once again i almost didn't understand anything from all the grammatical mistakes & the horrible writing mistakes. Add to that okita sougo being a big cry baby, everyone's just so OC and it was just the most embarrassing thing ever , i remember running around the house back and forth with a red face holding my mobile while i was like "just what the hell was i thinking back then"

But still this was my very first story to publish, so it have a special place in my heart therefor i would keep it as how it is.

Of course i fixed some mistakes and gonna improve some parts later :)

It was heavily raining in Edo as Okita Sougo entered his house.

He was tired from work, that bastard Hijikata ... why should he always gave him all that paperwork ?! if paperwork's that important then why not make it take the police's place...

What he needed right now is to take a hot shower and sleep beside his wife.

It has been two years and he still can't believe the fact that he was given the chance to fall in love. why life is so unfair ? to make him lose his parents at such a young age, to make his sister suffer and takes her away from him before she get to know happiness, to make him love the person he hate, to make him propose to her and even have a 1 year old daughter with her. well if you asked him ...it's not fair at all.

But back in his heart he knew that maybe the only thing that he didn't regret in his life was .. her .. he found out that under all this pride and hate... he truly loved her, he loved her that he gave her his life already. His world used to be all black, white and red yet whenever she smiles somehow he can see much more colors and for him a person who never realize it, it made him feels like bathing in the light, and he was stupid enough to misunderstand this feeling as hateful one.

She made him feels just like when his sister was alive.

At first he hate it. he couldn't notice anything ... but pardon him it's not everyday a girl come to kick your ass and suddenly you feel those strange feelings for the first time and you came to realize its " love ". Hell he even once thought that he was sick withe same sickness as his sister ! but deep inside it seemed that he was only carrying a pure feelings for the one and the only girl called China.

Kagura as known as China girl was a Yato, one of the strongest aliens in this universe with a black hole stomach, no manners, no taste, no beauty, hard head, a power that could turns anyone or anything back to atoms, she even once said that she don't wash her underwear, yet what made him so crazy about her ?

Was it her big heart, smile or her personality or even her unique way of thinking unlike other girls , or was it the fact that she could always see through his eyes to his soul and even with this she loved him for his self, not for his place at the Shinsengumi or his 'bishounen' face like other stupid girls, he secretly loved her shy girly side that no one could see but him. ( but dare he saying that out loud ? )

She always calls her self a monster but he never see her like that ..

" I'm home " he broke his thoughts as he waited for an answer , but it seemed that no one was in the living room.

" ... it is already 12 o'clock " he went up stares to check on his sleeping girls but as soon as he was going to open the door to their bedroom, he stopped upon hearing a song ... a very familiar song...

Trying to take a closer look, there was his wife with their daughter in her arms singing to get her sleep

"her voice's still as horrible as always" but he would never admit that he loved her horrible voice.

Listening carefully to the lullaby he fall under the curse of the song as his brain started to bring him old memories...

Oh yes ... he remembered ... this song ... the same song that his sister used to sang to him every single night

The song came to a end and their daughter's now sleeping peacefully in her mother's arms, who would have imagine that the monster Chinese girl would turn out to be a great mother, every time he see her with their daughter he can't help but to wonder if his mother was alive, would she be as warm and kind as her ?

She finally noticed him "oh .. sadist you are back, welco- wait .. why are you standing there, something wrong ? "

" No, not at all"

" Really .. okay then i will put kana in her room, you take a shower while i prepare some food "

" No you don't have to, i just want to sleep, i'm so tired from that damn bastard Hijikata "

" Who said the food was for youaru ? it's obviously for me, can't you see that im starving"

" Yes like every 24h in the day. if you are planing to die out from food then i won't stop you"

" better than dying in your arms with some dramatic music in the background as in those drama"

" I told Danna to stop letting children watching his dramas "

" What do you mean you brat ?! Gin-san's the biggest baby out of all of us here" she smirked as flashbacks of Gintoki crying over his strawberry milk flashed back to her mind " i bet that you are tired from trying to kill mayora and not from work huhu "

" Maybe you are right.. "

That amaze her " Oi what's wrong ? you never admit on something like this and you don't even say that i'm right even when i'm right aru "

" ... I'm just tired, i'm going to shower now, let's continue this in the morning" he said quickly before disappearing behind the bathroom door of their room.

" What's wrong with him " she glanced annoyingly at the closed door and sighed " Men are sure complected creatures"

Kagura toke a look at the small sleeping creature in her arms " Oh my poor sweet cute kana you have such a stupid hard head father" She said with a dramatic voice while heading to her daughter's bedroom.

Sougo yawned for the thousand time this day as he finally get to put his head on the pillow.

He closed his eyes trying to get some peaceful sleep, but it seemed that to day was indeed not his lucky day.

He can't sleep.

He sighed annoyingly as he turned his head to look at his wife that just returned and now is sleeping next to him.

That look in her eyes he know it very well ... she knows that there is something and he didn't really wanted to talk about his sister right now

But no matter what he wish for, with her nothing actually works."Oi you .." here she is ...

" ...mmm " he hummed tiredly while rolling his eyes away.

That didn't escape her but as always she don't take hints " Soo dear how was your day ? anything interesting? you tax-robbers take all the fun and action in the city its not fair aru huhu "

"Okay china dear, you never call me sweet married couple stuff if there wasn't something you wanted or you haven't done something and second i don't want to talk about it , now go to sleep "

"Bu- "

"Good night. "

Kagura growled silently, she wanted to force him to spit it out if its needed, but when she looked at him she knew that she should just do as she told.

That look in his eyes was the same look every year on that specific date of the death anniversary of his sister... its as if telling her that it hurts deep inside and knowing him normally he won't talk to not show any signs of weakness or to hurt his pride but this time its more likely because its hard to to talk..

She understand but she also cant ignore it as if it never happened.

"This stupid sadistic brat, why does he act as if he's alone, is he becoming a emo now all of sudden?! " she screamed in her mind as she was trying to prevent her self from trying to talk to him again.

She hate being weak, not being able to help or protect the people who are dare to her make

Back then she wan't able stop her brother from leaving, she couldn't even save her sick mother and worst of all she couldn't control her blood. and now after years nothing changed she cant even help her husband ... what if her daughter need her one time and she couldn't help ? the thoughts made her want to cry but she hold her tears ..

"... where did you learn that song " he suddenly asked, more like a whisper.

"..huh?"

Okay she have to admit that's wired, what does the song have to do with all of this?! she was about to talk when-

"Nothing .. never mind "

He's being a jerk as he is.

She sighed for the tenth time this night and decided it was better to let it go, after all he worked for a late hour today and she didn't have the power to make him talk.

Another half an hour passed and yet the Okita couple can't sleep.

They are already tired and sleepy but they simply can't .. This is indeed the worst feeling anyone can feel..

"Oi are you dead" kagura said as she turned her head to face the room ceiling.

"What you cant sleep too ? " Sougo replied as he turns slowly to do the same.

"Yeah i guess, what a pain "

and with that both of them are silent again...

She didn't know why but the atmosphere somehow felt heavy..

" I was thinking Kagura ... can you sing for me " Sougo said quietly.

"HUH?!"

"Forget about it " he replied faster than the sound and turned his head back to the other side to avoid facing her.

He never calls her by her name if it is not something matter.

She knew it already, there was something wrong but why he won't tell her anything ? it is not like she will reject him, leave him or anything after .. everything they went through together in all those years and above all she was his wife dammit !

She didn't know what to do but she felt that there's only one right thing to do now.

And before he was able to have the chance to say anything, Kagura held Sougo in her arms closer to her chest and started to sing the familiar lullaby while softly playing with his hair between her fingers.

She was so warm to him, just like his sister. He can hear her heart, her voice, and the song that brought him too much memories of his sister.

"Aneue why do you sing this song to me every night ? You need to rest "

A 11 year old Sougo asked his elder sister as they were preparing to sleep

"Well Sou-chan, Our mother used to sing it for us as she used to say that there's something magical in it"

"Magical? "

She nodded

"But ... I dont care about it , your health's much more important Aneue ! "

"You haven't met our mother Sou-chan, that is why you never knew a mother's love but our mother was a great person... "

She paused a little as she was trying to get him to understand

"I was around your age when our mother was pregnant with you in her belly .. back then i asked her the same thing 'Mother why do you keep singing to me every night although you need to get enough sleep and protect the baby' she laughed and hugged me tighter as she told me "

"This song is like a magical lucky mantra and whoever sing the song to the other, the one whose ears are able to hear the song will feel all warm and forget all the pain from the world around them, just as if you are in your mother's arms all save and happy "

" B-but Aneue you are sick, you cant sing the song to me everyday just for some kind of talk that my not be true, Beside im fine as long as you are fine, so don't worry about me "

"Don't say that Sou-chan everyone miss their mother ! our mother couldn't be with us and i will do whatever i can to not make you feel lonely, so please Sou-chan you are my only family , i want you to be happy "

" Bu-t Aneu-! "

"I don't take buts Sou-chan, now hurry up and come here " She said as she forced him to lay his head on her lap, not waiting for his answer.

Sougo missed her, he truly missed her...

She was his everything and he couldn't make her happy, he toke her happiness, he was the evil one here so why was she the one dying and not him? the possibility of how her life would have been if she wasn't taking care of him was always hunting him, maybe after all he was a mist-

His thoughts were cut short as he felt the warm hand on his check.

He didn't notice that she stopped singing and that he was crying, he looked at her in the eyes and noticed that this whole thing must have made her worry .. she didn't say anything nor him as well..

" I'm sorry " he said with a quite voice as a whisper.

" .. " she didn't say anything as just hugging him tighter trying to tell him that she's here and everything is fine.

That's right .. he have her , he have his new family to protect he's not alone , he never was ..

" And thank you " she smiled at his words as he buried his head more to her chest

After some time Sougo was finally sleeping peacefully and it seemed as if the problem was solved somehow.

She wasn't able to figure out what happen but it was enough for her at the moment that he wasn't sad any longer.

'Mami the song that you taught me's really magical just as you said aru'

Kagura kept staring at his angelic sleeping face till she drove into a deep sleep.
