Night Nurse analysis
*Unknown location*
After collapsing from the horrible sensation earlier, Peter groggily wakes up from his slumber catching a bit of a conversation taking place. "Thank you again Mr. Possible. Hopefully, we can help him as soon." Spider-man hears a lady ending a phone conversation to which he wills his self to get up and investigate his current situation.
"Where am I?" He tiredly asks, attempting to move from his resting spot and touches his face to make sure his mask is still on.
The worrisome woman swiftly checks on the hero. "Spider-man, please try not to move right now. I'm the lucky woman you rescue earlier, and you are in my place. Don't worry; I kept your mask on out of respect as I brought you here. Do you remember anything about last night?"
With a sigh of relief that his identity is still secure, Spidey recalls back the events that took place before he passed out. He was out on patrol by himself where Spider-man witness a man harassing a woman, and that's when Spidey intervene and rescue the stranger. "Didn't I save you from the guy who I assume is your crazy ex?"
The blonde lady blinks in shock of how blunt his answer came out. "Yes, that is correct, though the crazy acting part was due to him being drunk."
"While I can understand in a way why he would want you back, that's not how you treat a woman at all." Spider-man instantly feels a hint of guilt over how his last conversation with Felicia went down. There was no reason for him to snap at her like that; personally, Peter is smart enough to know at this point whatever internally is going on has to have some connection to his newfound attitude. Whatever it is, Peter doesn't want to drag Felicia into it.
"Well, I'm glad that you were in the area to show him what happens otherwise. Speaking of you, we now need to focus our attention back on your condition. So I assume you don't have a history of having brutal type cramps and going to sleepy land afterward, correct?" The lady inquires for the way Spider-man reacted before he collapsed didn't seem reasonable even for a superhero.
"Not trying to be funny since I'm usually I am, I think, my uncle taught me not to tell personal information to strangers," Spider-man responds in a joking matter to keep from sounding rude. He does have a secret to maintain, and for all he knows, this chick could be some crazy stalker though the lack of spider-sense somewhat counters that thought.
"I have no reason not to believe that your uncle is or was a wise man. Please understand I'm not downright asking you to tell me who you are behind the mask. You see, my name is Linda Carter, and I am a registered nurse and medical physician, which wouldn't have been possible if I had chosen to get married to my ex over my career. With that said, you helped me, so I want to return the favor if you don't mind me?" Linda Carter sincerely explains to Spider-man in hopes that she will gain his trust.
As he processes Linda's offer, Spider-man can tell that she is genuine about helping him out. He still not going to reveal who he is, but for now, Spidey believes that he could give Linda a chance and gain a new ally in the process. "Honestly, I'm not used to civilians that I save wanting to show their appreciation, and you could have easily taken my mask off and invaded my privacy. While I'm not to where I'm willing to show my face and tell you my real name, I will trust you enough to accept your help, Linda."
Spider-man extends his hand with Linda gracefully shakes it to seal the deal on their new partnership and maybe a potential friendship. "Now to answer your question, yes, the cramps started occurring recently, but last night was the first that it hurt like hell. Almost as if something is trying to rip out of my body."
Linda nods with understanding before proceeding to check the sides of Spider-man's rib cages. "Anything else abnormal affecting you?"
"Other than my change of behavior from being a passive guy to a more aggressive type, not that I can think of so far." Spidey answers to the best of his knowledge.
After doing a physical checkup, Linda takes a seat beside the bed to give a doctor's opinion. "From what I'm hearing, your body might be going through an internal type change though I'm not sure what kind for the good or worse. Earlier, when you were still asleep, I was in contact with a scientist that I know rather well and told him about your current situation, and he said he's willing to help but would need some of your DNA samples to do a thorough analysis."
Ironically when it comes to smart scientists, Peter would have gone to Dr. Connors about this stuff. Unfortunately, he somewhat messed up his relationship with him as both Peter and Spider-man when he took pictures of Spidey fighting Connor's lizard form and accidentally took the symbiote as Spider-man. Plus, he and his wife left for Florida, so Peter is not sure if he would want to come back. "Sure it's like the saying goes, the more help, the merrier. However, how will I get this person the blood sample? Is he in New York?"
Linda shakes her head and answers, "Afraid not, for he lives in the city of Middleton. Have you heard of the famous James Possible?"
"The name does sound familiar?" Peter thinks about the name for a second until it clicks on who that person is. "Hold on a second, is he the father of the teen hero Kim Possible?"
"That's right, during my time in college, I was able to meet him through one of my teachers and was able to create a connection with him." Linda proudly explains.
"Oh nice, good to have people like him in your life that you can count on. Although that still lies the problem of getting him my blood sample." Peter states, referring to the fact that Mr. Possible doesn't live in New York.
"Well, I'm sure Mr. Possible would come down himself, but I'm not sure," Linda suggests even though she's doubtful because of what Mr. Possibe's family is currently dealing with.
"If you can ask him please, that would be perfect," Peter asks, for he is not exactly in the position to leave the city.
"Okay. In the meantime, what will you?" Linda questions the hero.
"Do what I do best." Spider-man flips over to the wall and starts to climb to show off that he's feeling somewhat better until he reaches the ceiling and falls on his back to the ground.
"Lose your grip and fall from the wall?" Linda answers for him, trying not to make her response sound funny due to the seriousness of what just occurred.
Spider-man starts to panic over is mishap saying, "What the heck!? That never happen to me before!"
"Calm down; maybe it was a fluke or something." Linda touches his shoulder, attempting to relax him so he won't freak out.
"Hey, you might be right. It must have been some glitch." Spider-man takes a deep breath before jumping straight up to the ceiling and sighs with relief when he begins to crawl around with no problem. Out of nowhere, Spidey's hands stop sticking, and once again, he crashes to the floor.
"Oh my gosh, Spider-man, are you okay?" Linda rushes over to help him up onto the bed to recover.
Spider-man knows that he's far from alright. Due to fails attempts to display his ability, his sudden fear sets in concerning what's going on with him. "From the fall, yeah, but Linda... I think whatever is going on with me is now causing me to lose my spider powers."
*Meanwhile with Black Cat*
With no luck in finding Peter at his aunt's place, Felicia tries looking for him as Black Cat patrolling the city in case of any hint of his whereabouts. At this point, the two main feelings that Black Cat has towards her boyfriend are concern and anger. The anger, of course, since he has been secretly on his recent behavior that led to their first fight. The worrying side, which is the most focus emotion, comes from the negative changes that are affecting him. True Felicia hasn't known Peter her whole life, but she does know that his recent actions are not him, and because of that, Felicia has a gut feeling that there's more to what's going on than Peter realize. If only he would let her in so they can work together to fix his problem and their relationship.
Black Cat resumes her search when she notices a few members of the Arsenic Candy outside a building loading up boxes in a truck. Great those brats again? Maybe stopping them will draw Spider's attention. Black Cat plots in her head before confronting the gang once again.
"Ladies, while I would say we have the same taste in stuff animals and I would want to them for myself, stealing is still wrong." Black Cat calls out to the girls to focus on her.
The blonde leader with the giant hammer and red dress sees Black Cat and quickly gives a command to the lackeys, "Keep loading those boxes up. The rest of you make sure this kitty cat loses all her nine lives. Pricilla is going to piss if we don't get those teddy bears." The battle begins with Black Cat going at it with the girls in black using speed to her advantage since they try and attack her at once. Once she takes them down one by one, Black Cat turns her attention to the leader, making sure to dodge her incoming hammer strikes. Black Cat defeats her by wrapping her legs around the leader's neck, spending her around and throwing her to the brick wall.
"So much for Operation steal toys." Black Cat jokes while catching her breath.
Next Black Cat rushes inside the building to see more of the Arsenic girls grabbing as many toys as they can. "Seriously?"
One of the members carrying a container sees her and drops the box, yelling, "The cat woman!"
"It's the Black Cat! The name Cat Woman is probably already taken." Black Cat corrects them with frustration and gets ready for another battle. Due to strength in numbers, Black Cat somewhat struggles with taking the members down when they surround her in groups, so she makes sure not to allow herself to get corners and sticks to taking each down solo.
"Time to fly, we got to meet up at the warehouse." Two of the Arsenic members escape on to the plane and take off as Black Cat finishes off a few of the girls off.
Black Cat witness the copper leaving and shoots out her cable claw to go after it. "I better follow them from a distance." Black Cat honestly could feel herself getting a bit tired during the chase considering this type of action she usually fights alongside Peter. However, she refuses to let that factor become a weakness and wills herself to take down these brats.
The copper finally lands at the new destination with the two Arsenic girls meeting a new leader who tells them, "Pricilla wants this whole place to burn to the ground. Don't leave any evidence, for we don't want cops at the wedding."
"Someone doesn't know how to lite up a cigarette without burning something up." Black Cat quips, landing behind them, noticing that the new leader lit another building on fire with a hostage stuck inside.
"Looks like you have a choice Black Cat. Stop us, or save the people trapped in there. Which choice are you going to make?" The Leader quizzes Black Cat before the lackeys chime in to answer for her.
"I say she lets the place burn."
"Me too, it will be like the fourth of July."
"Yeah, I want to stay and watch the show."
Luckily for me, they seem to be the only three left to deal with it. I got to hurry up and take these pests out and save those people inside. Black Cat gets back into her fighting stance and with determination says, "What about option three, where I beat you girls up and save the citizens."
She proceeds by using the same formula as last time by taking care of the small fries before fighting off the one in charge. Despite taking some damage between the multiple fights, Black Cat manages to defeat the current Arsenic girls after she dropkicks the one in charge towards the copper knocking her out. Black Cat rushes into the burning building with firecrackers setting off inside, which will cause more flames to rise.
"Help us!" One of the trap civilians shouts in fear. Following the voice, Black Cat finds a rock blocking a door to where the few people are at.
"Don't worry; I will you out of here." Black Cat attempts to move the rock, but due to no super strength plus feeling worn out, she has no luck. Parts of the building from above start to slowly crumble and fall, shaking Felicia's confidence for a quick second until the motto that her boyfriend goes by echo's in her mind, "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility." Powers or not Black Cat wills herself to moving the rock yelling mentally, Come on! When out of nowhere, "Cat move!"
On instinct with no time proper time to question it, Black Cat gets out of the way to see a black and white figure pick up the rock and toss it to the side.
"Spider!?" Black Cat questions with disbelief.
"Hurry, there's not much time!" Spider-man himself kicks down the door and together, grab the three civilians out of the room and outside before a fiery explosion occurs thanks to the remaining firecrackers. Quickly the duo makes sure the people they save into an ambulance for medical treatment. Once the two leave the scene and head up to the rooftop, Felicia afterward turns to her Spider-man, allowing her mindset to absorb the fact that this is the first time in a while she has seen him causing multiple amounts emotions to form from within her.
Peter looks over and thinks the same way and quietly sighs before readying his self for a brutal lashing about how he treated her lately, and possibly Felicia breaking up as a result. "Felicia." He begins as he slowly takes off his mask.
"Instead, Felicia rips off her mask, launches and wraps her around his neck, and burst into tears. Peter, shock at first, holds her waist tight and comforts Felicia allowing her to have her moment.
"Spider. We. Talk." Felicia manages to get out before she halfway passes out over the long night she went through.
Judging by her costume, Peter can tell tonight has been rough on her on top of emotionally feeling drain and plans on getting her treatment from Linda. Peter couldn't be more proud of how far Felicia has come in her new role. "I know love, and it's way overdue." Unfortunately, I'm not even sure how I can explain everything myself.

AN: After months of no update, here we are with another chapter with a reunion between Peter and Felicia. To explain the long wait, I have been dealing with writing anxiety, where I get nervous about writing because I think it won't turn out right or mistakes that people find that I don't see, etc. It doesn't help when I go back and read my content base on years ago how I started to now. It's not great so slowly. Slowly but surely, I'm going through each story and using an updated Grammarly tool to help make my stories more readable while hoping to get better with writing content.
One of the decisions I had a hard time with was the handle the situation between Peter and Felicia, for I was thinking of delaying the couple reuniting until later. Yet, recently, I thought I don't want the drama of the relationship to become overbearing. Yes, couples go through negative moments, but also it's crucial to showcase the love the two people have to overcome those obstacles. So while no SpideyCat is back 100%, you will see reconciliation leading to that.
Relevant news: If you have a wattpad account, which I do now under NeoTyson, I need you to do me a favor if and report this user EvanderMcGrath on wattpad. He has copied and pasted this story on his page without giving no type of credit, as well as the novel by Megamatt09 A Sticky situation. That is why I made an account there so I can have my stories posted on the site to avoid this problem again.
So on that note to everyone that has been waiting on this update or supported me to this point again, I say thank you, and if you want to send positive vibes that I will get back to writing a little more frequently. Since I did drop a hint to a significant part of my plan for this story in this chapter...
