Prologue
AN: Arazeil here. So this is going to be a multichaptered story, and if you haven't yet guessed, it's a Harry Potter Crossover. I can't promise regular updates, but I will try, especially considering that it's currently Post EYAs and I have nothing better to do. Please leave your comments down there so I know what you think about this story :D
Also, do I need a disclaimer?

He didn't know about the curse, the tradeoff for his healing powers, when he ate the strange, glowing fruit he found, starving on a deserted island. He was no fool, however, and he knew that the fruit was unnatural and could be dangerous- right on both counts, but it had kept him from starving, allowing him to train his flying skills and eventually bringing him to land on a quay where he struck up conversation and became fast friends with an old man with a strange moustache who insisted on calling him brat- he was 20, for god's sake!
He had only found out that his fruit was a unique one when Whitebeard had bought him a book on devil fruits- it stated that his fruit granted rejuvenating and healing powers to its user- he knew that- and that the healing effects went so far as to pull him back from the unknown of death, remaking his body from scratch. Rumors had stated that it was one of the most powerful devil fruits, but no one had ever found it. The only reason as to why there was so much information on the fruit was because someone had read one of the poneglyphs, and all the information was at best an educated guess.
Marco had been understandably excited until he realized 7 years later that he wasn't aging anymore. Like he had been frozen in time, while Thatch, Izo, Jozu, Namur, even Oyaji raced past. And then he realized what it truly meant to have immortality- he would watch all he loved die- a truly lonely existence.
When he watched Ace and Oyaji die that day in Marineford, some part of him died with them, too. So he was couldn't have been happier when he died protecting his nakama, and even as his vision faded into unyielding black he knew they were safe and it was so worth it, he didn't regret a thing and then he fell and knew no more.
So he could die after all.
