AN: just a random One-shot idea that came into my head while I was working on Dressed in dRAb. Decided to challenge myself by doing two things: avoiding naming names unless necessary , and Third-person POV.

The funeral was quiet.

She never wanted to be the center of attention, so only a few close friends went to the funeral.

There were no speeches or rites; just seven people looking at a gravestone, remembering the dark-haired girl who was once a part of their lives.

One by one, the mourners left, leaving only a white-haired girl, fiddling with the ring on her finger.

Tears running down her cheeks, she kneels before the gravestone before speaking.

"Its not fair. Why did you leave me? We had everything planned out; we'd graduate from Beacon, fix the company, stop the White Fang, live our lives together. Then you go and die. It should have been me... It...," She wipes away her tears. "It should have been me."

The sound of a branch breaking alerted her to someone approaching. She turns to find a masked man staring. "What are you doing here?"

The man ignores her and kneels, placing a hand on the gravestone. "You foolish girl. Did it ever occur to you that the student was meant to outlive their teacher? Yet, I am the one standing over your grave. When you left, I was angry, but I respected your decision. I had given up on Humans and Faunus reconciling, but you didn't. Now I look around, and I see more clearly then ever." The man removes his mask. "I come to your grave, and I see a Schnee of all people crying for you. Maybe you were right. Maybe there is still hope. I will make sure your dream doesn't die."

He turns to the girl. "Now, what are you planning to do?"

The girl looks up toward the sky. "We planned to make this world a better place together. She may be gone, but the plans are still there. I could use your help though."

The man smiles. "It would be my pleasure."

The two leave; their hearts heavy, but hopeful.

So now the gravestone rests in the clearing alone.
