Hey everyone hope you enjoy this chapter showing off another of the Konoha duelsits. Apologise for the long wait I've just been having a writers block with this story and how i wanna take it. Though I'm happy for all the support this story has gotten, thank you all. I have no intention giving up on this story and will make it through to the end.
Chapter 19: Luck of the draw
After classes inside Duel Academy, Jaden, Mana, Syrus and Bastion were running down a hallway leading to the card shack.
"Jaden, Bastion, slow down!" Syrus whined, lagging behind the Evil Hero and Genius duelists.
"I can't! Not on Sandwich Day!" Jaden replied.
"You mean that's where we're going?" Bastion asked. "I thought something important happened!"
"When it comes to Sandwich Day, it is important to Jaden." Mana said.
Jaden ignored Bastion's words as they finally made it to the shack, where a bunch of Slifer and Ra students were crowding around a deep, square food bin that was filled with a ton of sandwiches inside small packages with the Duel Academy logo on them. All three of them ran up to the bin and looked inside.
"Isn't sandwich day just the greatest, guys?" Jaden asked. "All these choices and not one of them labeled."
"How's that the greatest, Jay?" Syrus replied.
"I would like to know what I'm about to eat," Bastion added.
"Well, there's one good sandwich," Jaden said, "The golden eggwich that comes from the magical rooster who lays the golden egg!"
"Jaden, roosters don't lay eggs..." Mana, and Syrus said.
"Not to mention golden ones." Bastion added. "Its common knowledge."
"Still, it's worth going through all these just to get it! I heard those things are delicious!" Jaden said, sticking his hand into the bin and pulled out a sandwich. He tore it open and took a bite of it."Yuck!"
"I take it that wasn't the eggwich you were looking for..." Bastion laughed, looking at the Slifer's disgusted face.
"Grilled tongue!" He whined as he dropped to his knees.
"That's the fifth week in a row that's happened!" Syrus said.
"Too bad you can't have your miracle draws here, right?" Bastion teased.
"Better a bad draw here than in a duel."
The boys turned around to see Alexis also holding up two non-eggwiches in her hands.
"Hey Alexis." Syrus greeted.
Mana looked at the two sandwiches in the Obelisk hands and a devilish smirk appeared on her face. "Oh I see what's going on here. Alexis you were searching for the eggwich to share with Jaden weren't you?" Mana teased as a blush spread across both Jaden and Alexis face.
"I did no such thing!" She blurted out. "I-I was just practicing my drawing skills." But the idea wasn't a bad one, she figured. She wished she thought of that first.
"Sure you did..." Mana continued her teasing.
"I was!" She yelled.
"You don't have to lie, Lexi." Mana said as she edged closer to her.
"I'm not!" Alexis shouted blush deepened.
"As much as I love to tease my baby bro, Alexis doesn't have the eggwich on her." Naruto said as he and Hinata walked up to the group.
"Yeah I haven't had any luck drawing it either." Everyone turned to see none other than Choji Akamichi taking a bite of the fried chicken sandwich had drawn.
"Hey Choji, should have known you'd pull out a good one." Naruto chuckled. While Naruto had a deep grudges with several of the Konoha Students Choji was one of the exceptions having known Choji thorough their childhood helping Choji out when he was bullied for his weight.
"Yeah, though I was hoping to get the eggwich I've heard so much about. But over the last two weeks I've come up with nothing." Choji said slightly downcasted.
"It's true..." Everyone saw Miss Dorothy come up. "For the past five weeks, nobody has been able to draw the eggwich!" Dorothy explained to them.
Everyone gasped. "Really?"
"Well, at least no one I know has been able to draw it." Miss Dorothy replied. "Someone must be sneaking them out after hours."
"Wow, that thief must pretty good to draw those five weeks in a row." Syrus noted. That also made Jaden angry a little, scaring the little guy and making Naruto smirk at his brother's competitive side coming out.
"I'm sorry," Dorothy said.
"Hey, don't be that way." Bastion consoled the store owner. "It's the thief's fault, not yours."
"In fact, let's catch this thief!" Jaden declared.
"Seriously Jaden?" Mana asked.
"Forget it Mana, when it comes to Eggwiches Jaden's completely unreasonable." Naruto said shaking his head at his brother's antics. His brother was as hooked on Eggwiches as he was with ramen.
"Well, we better wait until the buildings close down for the night if we're gonna do this." Bastion suggested. "This eggwich thief will most likely strike with everyone sleeping."
"Good idea." Alexis said, glad that Jaden had stopped trying to embarrass her. 'Maybe this eggwich thief will have a lead on where my brother is...'
"The shop closes around 8:00" Dorothy said. "You can stop by then."
"Sounds like a plan!" Jaden declared. "See ya guys at night!" He ran off.
"Wait up!" Syrus ran after him.
"Your brother sure is energetic." Hinata laughed.
"Yeah he is." Naruto said rubbing the back of his head. "You feel like a little stake out date?" Naruto asked.

(Card Shack.)
At the card shack shack the gang hung out in Ms. Dorothy's office. Naruto and Jaden were playing a game of poker while Hinata, Mana and Bastion were watching them. Syrus and Chumley were looking over their decks checking their new cards while Alexis was reading a book for their latest homework assignment.
"Beat this bro!" Jaden said, as he showed his hand with Four Kings.
"Four Aces." Naruto said setting down his hand causing his brother to become bug eyed.
"Curse you and that devils luck of yours bro!" Jaden said crying anime tears.
"And with that I get your deserts for the next 5 weeks." Naruto said with a smirk.
"I must agree with Jaden Naruto. You always seem to draw the right card whenever you need it." Bastion ssid having seen Jaden lose to his brother five times in a row.
"That's how it's always been with Naruto." Hinata said recalling how Naruto was always lucky and not just when it came to playing Duel Monster's.
"So guys," Chumley said. "When this sandwich thief comes around, you think he'll have anything on him?"
"Chumley, the guy steals egg sandwiches not grilled cheese!" Jaden said. "Tell him, Alexis."
"It's true, Chum." She responded, not taking her eyes out of her book.
"Hey, what's Lex doing over there?" Jaden whispered to the rest of the gang.
"Her homework..." Hinata explained as she looked away from Naruto's cards to answer Jaden's question.
'I'm waiting for this thief to show up.' Alexis thought. 'Who knows, this guy could have something to with my brother's disappearance.'
"Who wants some stake out snacks?" Miss Dorothy came into the office with some pastries.
"Is it grilled cheese?" Chumley asked hopefully until he saw the tray. "Aww, what are those?"
"You know there's more food in the world than grilled cheese." Mana said.
"It looks tasty to me." Bastion smiled at the tray.
"Thanks," Miss Dorothy said. "These are my special stuff pastries with 3 flavors: strawberry, chocolate and lemon custard."
"Thanks, Miss Dorothy." Syrus thanked.
"Sweet chocolate!" Naruto said
"Wait a sec..." Jaden said. "How about we draw for which pastry we want? I'm looking to get strawberry!"
"You want to draw pastries like cards?" Chumley asked.
"Actually, that sounds like a good idea." Bastion said. "Makes for great practice for dueling."
"Go for it, Jaden." Alexis encouraged.
"Alright, wish me luck!" Jaden reached out for the nearest one and took a bite out of it. "Strawberry!"
"And on your first try!" Syrus added. "Way to go!"
"It's good to know I still got it!" The Slifer said with a smug grin.
"My turn." Naruto taking the one in the middle and taking a bite. "Chocolate! As I expected."
"Guess it's a family talent?" Mana said.
"Unless its the Golden Eggwich." Alexis smirked.
Jaden's eyes widened. "That doesn't count!" He exclaimed over dramatically causing everyone to have a good laugh.
"Hey can I have a shot?" A voice aksed
"Oh sure Choji..." Naruto said smiling before his eyes widened turning to see the Akamichi heir standing behind them.
"CHOJI!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!" Everyone shouted pointing fingers at the chubby teen.
"Same as you trying to nap that sandwich theif!" Choji said clenching his fist his eyes blazing with determination.
"Yeah I should have guessed." Naruto chuckled before he and the others heard a nose
"Looks like he's here..." Alexis whispered. "Hide!"
Miss Dorothy turned off the lights and hid behind a counter. The girls hid inside the lockers and the boys hid behind some shelves. More noises were made outside as everyone got out of hiding and peer through the one way window.
"It's the thief..." Jaden whispered. They saw the sliding doors being lifted up by someone with a lot of muscles, and having little difficulty doing that.
"He's an animal!" Syrus whispered as the person crawled under the door and went over to the sandwich bin.
"Let's get him!" Bastion said as they opened the door and cut on the lights.
"Drop the eggwich you thief!" Jaden said to the guy. He was very muscular and only wearing torn up khakis and had long black hair.
The guy let out a Tarzan yell and then rolled out the shack with the sandwich bin, breaking the door.
"Man, he's really been hitting the gym to do that!" Bastion said.
"Talk later, we need to catch that guy!"

The Tarzan guy was climbing up a waterfall to escape the group after almost running into them. By the time they caught up he was halfway up the falls.
"Who is this dude?" Jaden wondered.
"Damon!" The wild man stopped as the group turned to see Miss Dorothy finally catching up.
"You know him?" Jaden asked.
"Take your time to answer," Chumley said, catching his breath. "I need to rest."
"Yes, I know him!" She said, looking up at the wild man. "And he knows better than stealing!" The wild man slipped off the waterfall and fell into the water. Once he popped out of the water, Miss Dorothy got a good look at him. "Wow, you've changed!"
"Yes I change, I change for better!" Damon said in a gruff voice.
"Not your grammar." Bastion muttered, cringing just a little bit.
"Thats what the wild will do to a guy." Naruto pointed out.
"Miss Dorothy, how do you know him?" Alexis asked the store owner.
"From school; he used to be an Obelisk Blue." She replied.
"Boy, they had a chill dress code back then, huh?" Jaden said, about the guy's attire. Naruto shook his head a little bit at his brother's comment.
"No, he was different last year." She replied. "Then one day, he just vanished. Damon always visited me at the card shack, especially on sandwich days. But he always was bad in drawing the right one."
"Are you sure he's the same person?" Syrus asked. "This guy always gets the good ones."
Damon laughed. "Not same person, I new person now. I live in the nature, I hone my skills." He said.
"Why'd ya leave?" Naruto asked.
"When I Obelisk, I test good but have difficulty drawing right cards." He replied. "My draw ruin me each time! I do everything to work hard but nothing! But as I watch nature, like waves crashing back and forth. Then, hit me!"
"You want me to hit you?" Jaden asked.
"No! IT hit me!" Damon corrected. "Just like I know what come next in wave, I realize I know what come next in cards! Must simply be in tune with nature! This why I train with nature, to learn, to be at one with nature, to be at one with the draw! I get very good, but one way to be sure I take eggwiches. This why I take them these past weeks, not because I thief!" He starts to cry.
"We understand." Dorothy said, feeling sympathetic.
"I don't." Jaden stated. "Don't get me wrong, I know you're legit with the eggwiches but I like those eggwiches as much as the next guy. So let's duel! If I win, you stop swiping them. If you win, they're all yours!"
Damon smiled. "Fine, but I expert drawer! There no way you can beat me!"
"Hey, I'm no slouch either!" Jaden replied.
"It's true." Syrus said.
"Best I know." Chumley added.
"Really formidable." Bastion threw in.
"Some kind of super power." Alexis nodded.
"Very good." Hinata noted.
"Yep, when It comes to draws my little bro is second to me." Naruto said with confidence.
"Hold up! I'll take this guy!" Choji announced stepping up in front of Jaden brandishing an Academy duel disk with reddish brown lining.
"Umm...hey Choji I know your upset about the eggwich too but I..." Jaden was cut off as Naruto placed a hand on his brothers shoulder.
"It's never a good idea to stand between an Akamichi and a situation that concerns food little bro." Naruto warned.
"Okay Daemon let's see what you've got!" Choji said activating his simply grunted as he activated his disk.
"Duel!" Both shouted drawing their opening hands.
Choji: 4000
Damon: 4000
"I'll start us off!" Choji declared "I summon Superheavy Samurai Scales (800/1800) in defence mode!" Appearing on Choji's field was
"So Naruto, just what kind of deck does Choji use?" Syrus asked.
Naruto smiled. "Choji uses a Machine deck like yours called Superheavy Samurai which utilizes his families on unique style of dueling. Just sit back and watch you'll be surprised."
"With that I'll end my turn." Choji finished.
"Just as tree sways to and fro, I know what will come," Damon drew his card and chuckled at what he saw, "The Nature has taught me well. I play card facedown, then I play card I just drew, Drawler!"
Damon let out a Tarzan yell as a huge golem-looking monster appeared, huge wheels underneath its limbs. (?/?)
"Now, for every card in my hand that I return to deck, Drawler gain 500 Attack and Defense points," he held up his entire hand, "I have four cards, and I return them all!" Drawler felt empowered by the returned cards, glowing. (2000/2000)
"Aw man...that Drawler's decked out." Syrus moaned.
"Drawler, attack Sclaes with Stone Roll Wrecker!" Damon commanded. His stone monster growled and immediately ran over Sclaes with its huge presses, completely flattening the samurai like a how you see a cartoon after being flattened.
"When monster in Attack Mode get beat by Drawler, he no go to Graveyard, he go to bottom of deck," Damon explained, "So you lucky yours was in defence mode."
"Well that's good to know, I summon Super Heavy Samurai Kabuto (1000/2000) in defence mode, let's see you try and get passed him!" Choji declared
"I activate Trap!" Damon paused as his facedown card was raised, "Miracle Draw! This how work. Before I take card from deck, I announce what card I think I draw, and if I right, you take 1000 points of damage. If I wrong, I take damage."
Syrus blinked, "So he's just guessing what card he's gonna draw?" He asked, unsure if he heard right.
"I guess..." Chumley replied, uncertain himself.
"You think I won't guess right?" Damon asked looking over at Jaden.
"You might..." Jaden shrugged
"No might! The snow no might melt, it will melt!" Damon closed his eyes for a few moments, a look of intense concentration on his face. After a short time, Damon's eyes shot wide open, "Card will be Card Loan!" He declared, drawing his card.
He held up the card to show them all that it was Card Load.
"No way!" Syrus stared at him. "He guessed right!?"
"This guy's weirding me out," Chumley commented.
"This guys got some skills." Naruto remarked
"Yeah I can sense he's strongly in synch with is deck." Mana added.
"Now, thanks to Miracle Draw, you lose 1000 Life Points," Damon told Choji, smiling. (Choji:4000-3000)
"Next, I activate the effect of Card Loan. You gain 1000 Life Points and I lose 1000 Life Points, but I get to draw one card from deck," he paused and drew, "But at end of turn, I return card to my deck." Damon announced (Damon:4000-3000), (Choji:3000-4000)
"All that for a single draw, just what is this guy planning." Akiza asked
Damon looked at his card, "I like!" he inserted the card into a slot, "I activate Dropper, a Spell card. Now you draw card," he looked at Jaden, "and I guess. If I'm right, all cards in your hand and field go back to your deck!"
Jaden drew his card and held it up, the back of it to Damon.
The wild man closed his eyes again and for a short time, he stood there in silence.
"He can't do this again," Syrus said.
Damon opened his eyes, "Super Heavy Samurai Prepped Defense!" He declared.
Choji was silent for a moment before he revealed the card in his hand which was none other than Prepped Defense. The Akamichi heir could only watch as all his cards were forcefully returned to his deck then reshuffled his deck.
Syrus shook his head as he saw that Choji was now completely defenseless, "This is gonna hurt..."
"Drawler, attack with Stone Roll Wrecker!" Damon ordered.
Drawler rushed at Choji, but instead of flattening him, it went through him. (Choji:4000-2000)
Damon took Card Loan from his field and placed it back into his deck, "I end my turn."
"Then here's mine, I summon Superheavy Samurai Gigagloves (100/1000) in defence mode!" Choji said playing a new samurai.
"Is it over yet?"
Everyone turned to Miss Dorothy, who they had completely forgotten about until now. Syrus shook his head, "No, it's not over..."
'This it. Just as I know leaves wilt and grow, I know I can pick my next draw...' Damon thought, looking at Jaden and his beast, 'With Gigagloves in Defense Mode, there is only one card that can help me. With it, I can crush Gigagloves...can crush Jaden!' He closed his eyes and concentrated 'Shield Crush...Shield Crush...give me Shield Crush!'
"My next draw will be Shield Crush!" Damon declared and drew his card. He looked at it and his face turned to that of shock, it was the monster Doron! "Oh no!"
"He got it wrong?" Chumley couldn't believe it as Damon grunted from the damage he took. (Damon:3000-2000)
"I summon Doron (900/500) in Attack Mode!" Damon placed a card on the disk and a strange figure appeared on the field next to Drawler. It sort of looked like a blackened mummy.
Damon growled, "So I guess wrong, it no matter! I still beat you, just wait and see," He looked at his huge stone dozer monster, "Drawler, attack Gigagloves with Stone Roll Wrecker!"
Once again, in a matter of moments, Drawler ran over and flattened Gigagloves like something from a cartoon.
"I not done yet," Damon declared as he waved his arm, "Doron attacks you! Mad Dash Stinger!"
Three transparent clones of Doron ran out of the actual monster and surrounded Choji, each one punching him multiple times only for an astral form of Gigagloves to appear blocking their strikes.
"Sorry big guy, but by banishing Gigagloves I can special summon a Superheavy Samurai from my graveyard, so welcome back Scales Doron was pushed back as Scales appeared swiping him away.
"I not done yet," Damon declared as he waved his arm, "Doron attacks you! Mad Dash Stinger!"

"Sorry big guy, but by banishing Gigagloves I can special summon a Superheavy Samurai from my graveyard, so welcome back Scales Doron was pushed back as Scales appeared swiping him away.
"So you survive this turn, next I will finish you." Damon said smiling confidently.
"Ok, that's enough!" Damon's confident look disappeared at Jaden's snapping.
"All this nature stuff...that terrible fake voice," Jaden shook his head.
"Fake voice?!"
Jaden looked at him, "Damon, you only spent one year out here. It's not like you were actually raised out here by wolves or something..."
"Time to get real Damon; if drawing cards were as predictable as snow melting, you'd never be wrong!" Jaden went on, "But you just did! Drawing is all about trusting your gut and being in tune with yourself. Even then," he shrugged, "There's no way you'd be always right. You're only human, Damon...even if you do get around swinging on vines!"
"Well said little bro." Naruto agreed. "Show him what you've got Choji!"
"You got it, I draw!" Choji announced drawing his card. "I activate Flutist ability which let's me tribute him to bring out a new Samurai from my hand, come out Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei (1000/3500)!"
About a week later, Damon had returned to Duel Academy, in his former Obelisk uniform and his mane cut. He didn't do the Tarzan thing, or steal the eggwiches anymore, just as he promised. Now, he and Jaden were in the store, headed for the bin.
"Did anyone draw the eggwich yet?" Jaden asked Miss Dorothy watching as Choji searched through the bin.
She shook her head smiling, "No one yet!"
Damon and Jaden smiled before reaching into the bin together. Only, it was in vain.
"I got it! I got the eggwich!" Both of them looked up to see Alexis holding up a sandwich triumphantly, a large smile on her face.
"Hey I got one too!" Mana cheered holding up her own eggwich
"Me too!" Hinata called out triumphantly.
"WHAT!?" Jaden, Choji, and Damon all cried out in outrage.
"I'll take that!" Naruto said yanking Hinata's out of her hand. "Come on bro! Let's move!" He shouted as he and Jaden took off with Choji, Hinata, and Damon hot on the brothers trail.
