Chicago

It was over – the curse was broken.

Both men were in custody and they would never see the light of day. It had taken 2 years, 11 months and two weeks to avenge my dead parents and to give myself closure. Over a thousand days spent worrying about if I would ever get justice and that closure. I had worried for almost every one of those 93,500,000 or so seconds.

A few days ago, Aunt Em broke the news to me – we were moving to Chicago and soon.

Everything was arranged. A transfer from the NYPD to the CPD was underway for my Aunt and Uncle and Mindy was helping out with finding a house. I was sorry to be leaving Chicago, but it would not be for long. However, I would be going back to New York alone. Raven would stay in Chicago and she would be ready for when I returned.

It was an emotional goodbye, especially as I hugged Saoirse. Whatever the bond was between us, it seemed unbreakable and Mindy had reinforced my suggestion that Saoirse move in with us into our new house and my Aunt and Uncle had readily agreed. I was overjoyed at gaining a new home, gaining a sister and being able to continue as Raven while I got on with the rest of my life.

Was Chicago ready for Raven?

It would have to be!

Glenview

"Thanks for your help, Gibbs."

"So, you are her."

It was a simple statement, not a question. I owed it to the man – he was no fool.

"And she is me..."

"Stephanie too?"

I nodded.

"What is the world coming to!" Gibbs chuckled before turning to Morgan. "You stay safe, young lady – listen to Mindy; I think she'll keep you right when you're out at night..."

Two days later
Monday

Washington D.C.
The Diner

"Nice place you have here, Gunny!"

"It serves great coffee..."

"So, what is the auspicious meeting in aid of?" Rear Admiral Harmon 'Harm' Rabb enquired.

"You know who Mindy Lizewski is, don't you?"

"I don't know what you mean."

"You weren't gonna tell me?"

"No, I was not."

"Fair – well her secret is safe with me. I may not agree with what she does – well, a part of me does, but she is honest and she prevented a potential bloodbath and the arrest of another young lady who now has closure to her life."

"Another case closed, Gunny."

Washington Navy Yard
NCIS Squadroom

"Hey, you guys notice anything about those Chicago Vigilantes?" Special Agent Tony DiNozzo asked.

"Come on, Tony!" Abby Sciuto declared. "We all figured it out ages ago... Mindy Lizewski is Hit Girl and her husband is Kick-Ass. That Morgan girl is Raven..."

"You sure?" Tony asked. "I was certain that the British kid was Kick-Ass... As for that Wildcat – she has a major Wolverine thing going."

"I had 'em pegged almost immediately," Special Agent Bishop boasted.

"Me too," Special Agent McGee added.

"You're a bit slow, DiNozzo..." Special Agent Gibbs said as he swept in and breezed past the group who were closed up at their secretive meeting.

"I wonder if I can get the phone number of Mist..."

"Grow up, DiNozzo!"

The Squadroom echoed to the sound of the head-slap.
