One More Time

Forty: Unknown Foes & Wedding Dresses

Sherlock had been incredibly protective with Joan after the bonfire incident. At the same time, he knew they had to figure out what exactly had happened to cause her to be in danger. Her parents had been in the same kind of thought as they had been trying to bury her in wedding planning.

"You know I am aware, what my parents are trying to do?" Joan said.

"I am not aware they are doing something out of the ordinary,"

"Are we going to ignore the fact that my parents have into over-protective mode," Joan said with a smile. "All of you believe I would be stuck in another fire pit,"

"It is illogical to think someone would try this again,"

"But you are aware they will try to come after us again," Joan mentioned to Sherlock.

"Yes, but I cannot tell who would be coming after us," Sherlock told her. "It could be an enemy I made over-seas when I was taking down Moriarty's web,"

"What if it isn't?" Joan told him.

"Do you mean to tell me you made enemies when I was away?" Sherlock asked.

"No, it's just…forget it," Joan told him. Sherlock grabbed her and make sure she was looking at him.

"What do you mean?" Sherlock said.

"What if it's an enemy from our last life?" Joan asked.

"Moriarty is dead, he was Sauron, no other being had that much control over things,"

"Gollum might still be out there, Azog as well,"

"It would mean that Thomas is also in danger and which would make sense, as they sent him the information," Sherlock informed her.

"I'm just worried, I just got you back," Joan said than she stopped.

"I'm not going anywhere," Sherlock told her. "That I do have one thing to do and you might not like it,"

"Sherlock please make sure that you don't do anything too stupid," Joan tells him.

"I will not make that promise as your version of stupid and mine is very different," he told her. Joan groaned at this before giving him a kiss knowing that she was not going to win.

A Few Weeks Later

Thomas looked at the letter and he knew, what was coming. This had happened since Joan had been put in that bon-fire. He worried that something would happen to his family and he would have to put a stopped to it. In his hands he held the proof of the life he had tried to hide.

"Thomas are you alright?" he turned to see Molly standing there.

"Of course, dear just some business information," Thomas told her. Molly looked at Thomas and she knew that he was lying. He had never been that great of a liar in their old life.

"If you say so," Molly said.

"I do, do you plan to go out with Joan tonight I believe Dis mentioned dresses?" Thomas asked her.

"Yes, uh we have to go check on bridal dresses," Molly told him.

"It's great have fun," Thomas said kissing her lips. "Is Sherlock still acting weird?'

"Yes, it's getting Joan a bit worried,"

"Not cold feet?" Thomas asked and touched Molly's cheek as she knew that she would be thinking that he was wanted Joan. He had given up on getting his chance with her as Joan had made it very clear that she would not be leaving her Dragon ever. He had been going on dates with Molly, who was beautiful and made him happy.

"We sure hope not, or Charles will be the one taking him down," Molly said with a smile.

"I believe it," Thorin said. "Have a good day at work,"

"I will try," Molly smiled.

Joan was in the bridal shop that her Dad's had closed with all the girls around her.

"You cannot be nervous?" Dis told her.

"Is not that, its just Sherlock went on his disappearance of the month and it's the first one since he came back, so I am worried" Joan said.

"You mentioned that he tended to disappear all the time Aunt Joan," Sigrid told her. The new title made Joan smiled before answering.

"He did and normally I've known Mycroft was aware of his location, when I called him, he wasn't aware," Joan told them.

"Well you know he always comes back home, you're his lighthouse," Dis told her.

"I guess, well I let you guys choose a dress," Joan told them, and she was nervous as she knew that she would be trying way too many dresses for them. The party if it could be called that had started and she was trying dresses left and right, there was one that was way to revealing for her to wear.

"I think it looks nice," Ori told her.

"It shows my gun wound," Joan said.

"Well this would be risky," Dis told her.

"Besides Sherlock is not going to care about the gun wound," Ori told her.

"Your right, but I don't know this one doesn't scream 'mine' at all," Joan told them.

"We do have a lot of time here and many other dresses to find," Dis told her.

"True," Joan said going back inside the dressing room for the next dress.

"This is going to be fun," Tauriel said.

"Hello Ladies," they turned to see Galadriel standing there with a smile on her face.

"Ms. Galadriel," Sigrid and Tauriel said at the same time.

"Charles told me that Joan was here trying dresses for her upcoming nuptials," Galadriel said.

"Yes, she is trying some of the dresses we gave her," Ori told her.

"Ah, good I thought I would end up coming late," Galadriel told them. Joan came out again with another dress.

"Aunt Galadriel," she said surprise.

"I hope that you are not bother with myself coming to visit?" Galadriel said.

"Not at all," Joan said showing off the dress which nobody really liked.

"I'm going back inside," Joan told them.

"I found one," Galadriel told them and had it brought inside the changing room. Thy girls waited a bit before Joan came out and they all gasp.

"This one is it," Molly told her.

"You girls really think so," Joan said before turning to the mirror and she even gasped, because the dress was beautiful and even if it showed off the curves, she wasn't even aware that she had. She didn't notice when Galadriel and when she did, she was standing behind her and putting small crown on her head that her the veil. She breathed in as she saw the assemble put in together. She had some tears in her eyes that she was not going to let fall.

"You look beautiful," Galadriel said.

Sherlock knew that he had to fake this, to get the attention of one of the men, he hated the most in the world. He just hoped that Joan would not kill him for doing this.

Note: This is the end of the chapter. I am not describing much of Joan's dress until the Wedding. Leave comments.
