Luffy's Boredom

Summary: Even in the New World, things can sometimes get a little slow.

"I'm booored," Luffy whined, pouting at the calm, blue sea like it had tricked him with a dirty lie.

Zoro snored, lying on the Thousand Sunny's grassy deck.

Luffy looked at Zoro's swords. All three katana were strapped to the swordsman's waist, like usual. He stared for a moment. Seconds passed.

An idea suddenly struck Luffy, and he furrowed his brow in a parody of thoughtfulness.

Zoro continued to snore.

A slowly dawning grin stretched its way across Luffy's face, and he quietly extended his arm. Reaching over to Zoro, he silently lowered his hand to hover just above the swords at the man's waist.

Still, Zoro snored on.

Luffy extended a single finger to brush the white lacquered hilt of Wado Ichimonji.

"Don't even think about it." Zoro's good eye snapped open, and he caught Luffy's wrist in a crushing grip.

"Aww. Greedy." Luffy pouted. "Won't you let me play with 'em a little? I'm so booored! The New World's supposed to fun, but nothing's happened since we left Fishman Island!"

"My swords aren't toys," Zoro scoffed. "If you're that bored, go bug someone else."

Luffy stretched out his cheeks and blew a noisy raspberry at Zoro.

"I already tried," he said. "But they're all busy."

"Then make yourself busy too. You're the captain, aren't you?"

"There's no one for me to beat up, and no meat to eat."

Zoro twitched.

"Just what do you think your job is...?" he muttered, letting out a sigh. "Hmph, whatever. I'm sure we have plenty of rum on board. Bring some here, if you aren't gonna let me sleep. That's one way to pass the time, at least."

"I'm underage," Luffy bluntly replied, picking his nose.

"YOU'RE A PIRATE!" Zoro snapped. "Underage drinking is the LAST thing you'd get in trouble for!"

Luffy blinked owlishly.

"How's that?" he asked.

"...guh," Zoro groaned. "It's been a couple years, hasn't it...? Jeez, I'd almost forgotten how thick you were."

"Shishishi! You're a funny guy, Zoro!" chuckled Luffy.

"Yeah, I'm a real riot," the swordsman deadpanned, eye twitching. "As funny as a damn mutiny."

Luffy guffawed.

A/N: I dunno. I really wanted to try and write a One Piece thing, since I've gotten back into the series recently.
