Hey guys! So, this is actually something I wrote for NaLu week 2015, but I can't stick to deadlines that well so here I am! I enjoyed writing this (at three in the morning) so I hope you enjoy reading this. :3

Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or the characters associated with it.

It was a stormy night. The wind howled and rattled the windows. The rain relentlessly hit everything in it's sight. But, the thunder and lightning was by far the worst part. The thunder paralyses its victims and the lightning blinds them, or worse, reduces them to a pile of burning flesh.

All this was going through Lucy's mind. Her mind was racing as she clutched her bed sheets to her, he's late. He said he wouldn't be late, he said he wrap her up in his arms where she'd be safe. But he wasn't here.

Her mind flitted from worry to worry, from situation to situation, until her mind conjured up the most horrific and horrible scenario, death. She whimpered at the thought of this measly storm turning into a full blown typhoon and her apartment being acquainted with other apartments and destruction.

Destruction and death. Yup, that did the trick. That reduced her to a snivelling pile of shivering, sniffing and sobbing.

Sobs racked her body as the apartment door flew open, revealing a sopping figure of a man. After closing the door with much needed force, he trudged over to the woman on the bed. Shaking off his soaked clothes, he turned back the covers of the bed to find his wife curled up and shivering with fright.

He frowned at the sight, but went to lie on the bed. As soon as his side hit the mattress, Lucy turned to clutch onto his chest, burrowing, hiding from the demons currently haunting her. Natsu instantly tied his arms around her, kissing her hair and whispering soothing nothings in her ear.

"Sorry I'm late baby, ice prick held me up, the bastard." Lucy barked out a laugh between sobs at the use of the nickname and the tone of her husband's voice. Of course, he'd never be late voluntarily, not with a storm like this brewing.

It was at times like this when Lucy realised how much she loves Natsu, he could cheer her up at the bleakest of moments without putting much thought into it.

She smiled as she realised there was no death, no destruction, just Natsu.
