Chapter 7 Teaser-

So…It has been a few years that I have not updated anything. I want to apologise for that. I moved to a New country and it has taken a lot of time getting settled. Everything has been crazy in my life for the past 3 years. But I am back, and I will try and update all my stories as much as time allows.

Just to get you all excited, if anyone is still reading this that is – here is a brief teaser for you. Enjoy.

As the girls try to calm Meredith, Derek goes in search of Arizona. He asks the nurse at the nurses' station and is told that Dr. Robbins and Dr. Altman rushed to the OR for an emergency op involving a GSW on a 12-year-old kid.

"Can you page me as soon as Dr. Robbins is out of surgery, please?" Derek asks. He gets a nod and "yes" from the nurse and walks off back to his Girls.

About 4 hours later Derek was paged and he again left to get Arizona. When he came to the lobby and hung back as Arizona was speaking with the patient's family. Once she was done Derek walked up to her –

"Arizona, wait!" he exclaimed

"Yes Dr. Shephard? Is there something you need?" Arizona asked is a professional and slightly confused tone

"Yes, You!" Derek said firmly

"Me? What do you need me for? Is it the kids? Are they ok? Is Zola and Bailey ok? Did something happen to Rachel or Britney? What … why aren't you saying anything?" Arizona asked rapidly without taking a breath, getting worked up and worried that something happened to the kids.

This caused Derek to burst out laughing and crying at the same time as he realized that no matter what happens Arizona cared. She cared for his kids including Rachel and Brittney as if they were her own. This reassured him that whatever the future held for them, it would all work out because Arizona still cared.

"Why are you laughing or are you crying? Man, you are confusing me" Exclaimed Arizona getting frustrated with Derek's behaviour

"You still care" Derek said between laughing and sniffling

Getting even more confused and frustrated, Arizona said exasperatedly throwing her hands up "Will you stop laughing or crying and say something that makes sense!"

Calming down and composing himself Derek gave her a soft warm smile and said "I meant that even though you are upset with Meredith and myself, you still care for our kids enough to get worked up and worried over them." Arizona was going to interrupt but Derek stopped her and continued "listen, we want to talk to you about something. Would you please come with me back to the conference room? Meredith and the girls are waiting in there."
