Everyday, Layla Heartfilia would wake up before her husband, make a pot of coffee before the servants would start on breakfast, and arrive to her daughter's room to wake her up. Lucy was the happiest child that Mrs. Heartfilia had ever seen. Well right next to the Dragneels' child anyway. But, nonetheless Layla loved every moment she could have with Lucy.
Lucy was the exact carbon copy of her mother. From her hair all the way to her smile. It didn't help that being around her mother all the time, she started developing almost the same mannerism. The small blonde loved being around her mother whenever the given opportunity arrived. She soaked in every precious memory she could get; not knowing that one day she'd be gone.
Every Sunday Lucy would go over to the Dragneels' and visit Natsu. Her parents and Natsu's parents would go into Igneel's study room and discuss business. She was too young to understand that it was the planning of their wedding and the business merger. Every once in a while, when Lucy and Natsu were having tea time with their mothers', they could hear loud noises coming from inside the study. It also didn't help that the kitchen was right next to the study room.
On this particular day; it was beautiful and sunny. It was like any other normal Sunday for the Heartfilia and Dragneel families. Only, there was something weird in the air that little Lucy just couldn't quite put her finger on. She decided to just brush the feeling off. The past couple of months had been terrible at home and at the Dragneel mansion. Her mother and father were always yelling at one another and Natsu had been pushing her around all the time.
This Sunday was a bit worse than usual. Lucy had woken up to her mother yelling at her father about something. What it was she would tell you she didn't remember. In truth she did remember. Her mother was going off about how her father stuck all the responsibilities onto her with raising Lucy. She would go on about how she resents her own child because she won't give her, her own personal time and space. Lucy could remember crying and apologies and promises how everything would get better. And then, the fighting just stopped and the Heartfilia family was on their way to the Dragneel mansion.
It got worse after that. Natsu was commanding the young girl what to do. His older brother was giving Lucy weird looks and her mother was with the older Dragneel brother the entire time. That feeling Lucy had on the car ride over had just gotten worse and she didn't know how to push it away. As afternoon time came for cookie time, Natsu and Lucy had gotten into a very bad argument.
She didn't understand how someone could be so mean. She loved the salmon hair boy with all her heart. She couldn't see why he thought otherwise. Was spending forever with her really that bad? Was she as horrible a monster as her claimed she was? She couldn't have been. Igneel adored her and so did her father and Natsu's mother.
Her bad day had turned into the one of, if not the worst day of her life. When Natsu and Lucy entered the kitchen, they found blood. Not just little droplets, not it was a large pool. And in that pool of blood was Natsu's mother. She was carved up and dismembered. The rest of that day was a blur to the young blonde, but she did remember her father explaining that her mother was gone and wouldn't come back. And she remembers the next day when her father found the note her mother left him. She was too young back then, but when she was old enough she learned what the letter meant.
It was a goodbye. Layla had left her and her father for a younger man. Not just any man. It was Zeref, Natsu's older brother. It was when she finally after she read that letter that she put all the events that happened together. All the fighting, the tears and Natsu's mother's death. It was all because of Zeref. Lucy vowed that day, that if she ever saw her mother again she would kill the bitch.

Today was the day. It had to be today or else Loki's head would be served to Lucy a la Natsu. It was the last day of the week to tell his girlfriend and the day that he and Aquarius were going on a stealth mission to kidnap one of sabertooth's members. The target? Yukino Agria. From what the reports he studied from were, she was quiet, gentle, and the weakest link for the gang. She was Sting Eucliffe's girl.
Speaking of girls; Lucy. How was going to do this. He had only a couple hours before the mission, and a couple hours before the day was up. It had to be now. He had no other choice. Aries was counting on him, and Natsu was watching his every step; waiting for him to fuck everything up. Why did it have to be him? Why was he in this situation? Did he love his leader? Of course! He would die for her, but he just couldn't love her like that. She was too strong, too independent. She refused to lean on anybody for support.
He wanted to feel needed. He wanted to be her arms that carried the world for her. She just wouldn't let him be that person. Did he know of her past? Yes, she told him everything. But he just couldn't love her like that. He banged his fist on the wall.
"Fuck!" He bellowed.
"Loki?" Asked a familiar voice. Oh fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. Not now he wasn't needed more time to prepare. Why did it have to be now? Lucy turned around the corner and smiled when she saw him. He frowned in dismay, because in a couple seconds, a frown will replace that smile and tears will fill those beautiful brown doe eyes.
"Are you okay?" She asked sounding concerned. "What's with that frown? Is it the mission? Do you not want to leave little ole' me? That's very sweet of you but I can take care of myself." She wrapped her arms around his waist. No. This didn't feel right, at least not anymore it didn't. He pushed her away.
"Lucy I can't do this anymore."
"What do you mean? What are you talking about?" She asked, clearly confused.
"I don't want to be with you anymore."
"I don't understand what's happening anymore."
"Look," he sighed from mental exhaustion. "I don't want to keep being your boyfriend. I'm done. I'm tired of this."
"I don- Was it something I did? Am I giving you too many assignments? I can take them away. I can do-"
"That's your problem Lucy! You're always I can do this! Or I can do that! You're too independent. I don't like that, I don't want that. I never have I never will." There he said it. It surprised him how little this was hurting him. In fact it felt sort of good to be letting go. As bad as that seemed.
"I can- I can change!" Lucy exclaimed. "I'll be more dependent on you! I'll lean on you when I need a shoulder to cry on!" She was desperate, trying to grasp at anything to keep him.
"You don't get it do you? I can't be that person. You won't let me be that person. I've tried but everytime I think I get in, you push me right back out. I want to feel needed Lucy and you can't do that for me."
"Please just give me a chance! I can be the girl you want! Please don't leave me!" She was broken, truly devastated. But she was refusing to cry. Even now and it irritated Loki to the core.
"Jesus Lucy why can't you take the hint?! Why do you have to beg?! Do I need to spell it out for you?! I. Don't. Love. You. I never have and I never will. And if that can't do it then how about this? I've been cheating on you with Aries." That was it. Her final breaking point. Tears welled up in her eyes. He didn't realise how much he didn't want to be here at this moment. "I'll talk to you later King. I have to go with Libra and head to Sabertooth now." And like that he left.

Lucy dragged her way to Natsu's room. He was all she could think of at the moment. Lucky for her he gave the key to his bedroom to her. She opened his door and made her way to close the door behind her. Right not all she could think of was Loki. She didn't really want to either. She had to get this off her mind somehow.
She heard the shower turn off and a few moments later Natsu's came walking out in just a towel. She studied him. He has scars along his tanned torso. But boy did they fit him. His pectorals and abs were severely defined. It was as if she was looking at a god. She could see water droplets slowly fall down from his chest. He just stared at her confused as he sat down on his bed.
"Hey Luce. What's up?" What did she want? She couldn't remember while staring at him. Her legs moved without her wanting them to. She stood above her salmon hair best friend, hungry for something that she never knew she wanted.
"Uh Luce?" Natsu asked clearly confused but slightly turned on by the feral look Lucy was giving him.
"Shut up. Just shut up for right now and listen to what I have to say. Right now I want you. I've never wanted anybody like this before. Not even Loki. So for right now, please don't say anything and kiss me like you mean it." He did just as she asked him. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her in for a deep sensual kiss. It wasn't just some tiny peck.
He made sure to savor the softness of her perfectly pink lips. They tasted like strawberry. He licked and nipped her her lower lip, asking her to open her for entrance. She obeyed his silent command. He slipped his tongue in and let it roam. He savored every second. When they pulled away he stared at her. He could see the lust in her eyes. She didn't have to beg for more. Her face said it all. He flipped her onto the bed and for the first time he was glad he made sure the walls were thick and sound proof. She was already wet down there, but he grabbed his lube from inside. He started to enter her. He could see the discomfort on her face the more he entered. She was extremely tight. Then it hit him.
"Shit! You're a virgin?!" She looked panicked and scared.
"Yes."
"You haven't?" She shook her head. He smiled. She was so cute under him, acting so nervous and defenseless. "I promise I'll be gentle with yuh Luce. I promise." He promised as he kissed her forehead.
The air was thick from panting and smelled of regret. Natsu lied on his side with his arm supporting his head as he looked at Lucy to admire her. She looked troubled.
"Are you okay?" Natsu asked concerned. Lucy shook her head and put on a fake smile.
"No I'm okay." She replied. But Natsu could see the tears filling her eyes. He scooped her up in his arms as she started to bawl.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to fuck you! It's all my fault. I didn't want pity sex! I didn't want my first time to be like this!"
"Like what? Luce what's wrong?"
"He broke up with me! Loki has been cheating on me with Aries and he just broke up with me before I came here. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to come in here. My legs just started to move and next thing you know we're having sex. God I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have used you like that."
"No, It's okay. I enjoyed it. I didn't even know I wanted this until you came in here. I'm sorry Loki hurt you like that. Cheating isn't okay. I get it. You're hurting and you weren't thinking. I'm sorry of you regret it. But for now forget about it and sleep with me tonight so you're not alone." She nodded. She didn't want to be alone. That was the last thing she wanted. Natsu's arms were warm and inviting.
Hours passed and Natsu was sleeping way too deeply to feel Lucy crawl out of bed. She found sleeping pills in his medicine cabinet. She just was so tired and wanted to sleep. One would make her get a full nights sleep. Two would get her through a day and a half. She grabbed a glass and downed two. Next thing she knew she was swallowing more. She wanted to sleep all her problems off.
She doesn't remember falling to the ground. She doesn't remember letting the wine glass slip ut her hands and shatter onto the floor. There was pain in her stomach. Everything was hazy and all she wanted to was to throw up and then fall asleep. She just wanted to close her eyes for a little while. She let her eyelids close and when she woke up she was in some private room. Her entire body was sore. She saw tubes in her arm and a heart monitor on her chest. Natsu and Levy were watching the T.V.
"Natsu." Lucy rasped. "Where am I?"
