I apologize beforehand for any errors. I didn't have time to proofread. As always, I hope you enjoy!

"I can explain."

"Oh you don't have a choice." Mellie told him matter-of-factly.

Fitz, feeling the need to put some distance between them, stood up and moved to stand on the other side of the island.

"Mellie, I get that you're upset, rightfully so, but you will watch how you speak to me. I am a grown man and I don't have to do a goddamn thing you say, let's get that straight right now."

One thing Fitz didn't take too kindly was being talked to like a child. He was a well-educated man and a dominant one at that. He was nobody's bitch, not even Mellie's, who'd been able to put the fear of God in him a few times since they've been together. Like the arguments they had in the past, Mellie refused to back down. She was more than willing to go toe to toe with him because she couldn't help herself. It was in her nature to combative.

"Actually you do. I am your fiancé and if you want me to remain as such, you better start explaining to me why this paternity test says you are some child's father."

"And I said I will but I want you to tell me something first Mel… why the hell were you going through my mail and what made you think you had the right to open it?" Fitz inquired.

Mellie predicted he would ask her that specific question, so without missing a beat, she responded, "Because I saw it was from a lab and got worried. I thought you were terminally ill or something. I'm going to be your wife soon which means I technically have full access to all of your information. There should be no secrets between us including children we have with other people."

She knew she was being petty, but she frankly did not give a damn. She had questions and wanted answers and they would stay there all night until she got them.

Fitz wasn't even going to bother listing all of the things that were wrong with what she had just said. It would be a waste of his time and breath. Mellie obviously wanted to discuss the positive paternity test, so there was no need to put if off any longer. Using his left arm to hug his right one to his chest, he prepared himself for battle.

"Okay Mellie, what do you want to know?" He asked.

"Everything." Mellie replied as if that was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Yes I know that, where would you like me to start?"

"You should have asked me that instead if that's what you meant." Fitz sighed and rolled his eyes. Their conversation barely started and he already felt like tearing his hair out. Mellie was the only person besides his sister who knew how to push every last one of his buttons within five minutes. "If you could start from the beginning that would be nice." She suggested condescendingly.

"Mellie, I am very close to not telling you anything and walking out of here so I would advise you to stop provoking me."

Between the low threatening tone he used with her and the cold glare he was giving her, Mellie knew she'd pushed him too far. Trying to pick a fight with him was obviously not the way to go. Instead, she was going to try a different approach. She was going to guilt trip him into telling her what she wanted to know.

"I just can't believe you not only cheated on me but impregnated the woman you cheated on me with." She croaked, sniffing back fake tears. "How could you do that to me… to us?" She motioned between the two of them.

Fitz sighed and raked his fingers through his already dishevelled hair. "Mel…" Well that worked. He's too predictable. "I didn't cheat on you. We weren't together at the time and when we did get back together I admitted to you that I had slept with another woman during our break. I didn't know I got her pregnant. I didn't even know she had my baby until two weeks ago."

With the pads of her fingers, Mellie wiped her synthetic tears away.

"You still had unprotected sex with her and then had the audacity to sleep with me." She reminded him, refusing to let him off the hook.

"I already told you, I got tested before we got back together, Mellie. I'm clean." He reassured yet again.

He trusted Olivia and was confident she didn't give him anything, but he still got tested to be on the safe side.

"And you knew you had a son for two weeks… why didn't you tell me during that time?"

Mellie was relentless. She was like a dog with a bone and her breed was ferocious.

"Because if I told you as soon as I found out, you would've demanded I get a paternity test, so I got one and was going to wait until I got the results to decide if I was going to tell you or not." He explained.

"So what you're saying is if the results came back negative, you wouldn't have told me?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying. I wouldn't have ever told you. Next question."

Fitz didn't want to get into the why he wouldn't have told her about the possibility of him being a father if he wasn't one. That would be taking the conversation in a whole nother direction and he was far too tired to tread into other waters. He could barely stay afloat in the one he was already in.

"Does your family know about the baby?"

"You know what, to speed this conversation, interrogation, Q&A or whatever the hell we're calling this up I'm going to just tell you the rest so enough with the questions." He paused briefly to collect his thoughts. "Yes, my family knows because I told them. I'll admit I haven't been completely honest with you as of late. This weekend I didn't go to California on business… I went to visit my son and meet his mother's parents. My family insisted they tag along. They would've come regardless if I gave them permission to or not so I let them."

"But when I basically begged you to bring me with you, you refused." Mellie interjected with a scoff.

Fitz ignored her comment and continued his confession.

"Anyway… while I was over there, I tried to convince his mother again to move to New York."

"Pardon?"

"I want to be in my son's life. I want to be the father he deserves. I want to be there for him whenever he needs me. I can't do that if he lives on the other side of the country."

"I don't think that's a good idea." Mellie said quickly.

She hated the idea of sharing Fitz with his son and his son's mother on a regular basis. Plus, how would that look for her. She and Fitz were both well known in the area. It would be embarrassing if word got out that Fitz was the biological father of a child that didn't come from her womb. At least to her it would be. Fitz didn't seem like he was trying to hide the fact that he had a son with someone else.

Fitz raised an inquiring brow, "Why not?"

"Because it's… inconvenient for his mother and her family I'm assuming. I mean you want them to just pack up their lives and move clear across the country. That's pretty selfish of you if you ask me."

"Which I didn't." Fitz pointed out without missing a beat. "I assured her and her parents that my family and I will take care of everything if they do agree to move."

Fitz appeared to be calm on the outside, but on the inside he was going crazy. His head was pounding and felt like it was seconds from exploding. He lost count of how many times he had to go over this. There was nothing he wanted to do more than climb on the rooftop of his apartment building and yell out his frustrations at the top of his lungs. He had too much stress built up. Mellie was supposed to be his stress reliever. Instead, she was the reason for seventy percent of all of the stress he was buried under.

"And do I have a say in this?" Mellie asked, folding her arms over her chest.

"No, why would you?"

If looks could kill, the look Mellie gave Fitz would've surely caused him to drop dead right where he stood.

"Because I'm your soon to be wife…" Fitz rolled his eyes. If he heard her say that one more time, he would lose it. "...and you having a child with another woman is going to affect our lives especially if they move here."

"I'm aware of that Mellie but if Olivia agrees to move here then that's what's going to happen whether you approve of it or not."

"Is that right?"

"Yes." Fitz sighed. "Mel, I don't mean to sound like an insensitive jerk but I have a son. Things have changed. He's my main priority. Everything comes second to him. I love that little boy more than life itself. I know it's unfair to ask this of you but I need you to accept the fact that I do have a kid with another woman and they are going to be a part of our lives."

Mellie shook her head. "I don't know if I can do that, Fitz. I love you but this is a lot to process right now."

"Mellie, I…"

Mellie held up a hand to silence him.

"Save it. I need some time and space to myself. I have some things to figure out and it seems like you do too." Mellie declared as she stood from the table.

Fitz walked from around the island and followed her to their bedroom, where she pulled out a suitcase and started throwing her random belongings in it.

"Mel, where are you going?" He asked, leaning against the doorframe with his arms folded.

Mellie exhaled impatiently, "I already told you, I need some time and space to myself. I have to figure some things out."

"Figure what out exactly?" When Mellie ignored him, Fitz walked over to her and shut her suitcase, effectively stopping her and gaining her attention. "What's there to figure out?"

She turned to look him in the eyes. With squared shoulders and chin raised, she said, "Whether I want to be with you now that I know of your illegitimate child."

Fitz was fuming.

"Mellie, watch how you speak about my son. You can say all of the nasty things you want about me. I don't give a rat's ass but you will watch how you talk about my son. I never want to hear you refer to him as illegitimate, bastard or any other degrading word ever again. Do I make myself clear?"

Mellie was scared of him at the moment. She'd never seen him so overprotective of anything not even his sister and he was very protective of her when he needed to be. Of course, she wouldn't let him see her frightened. If she did then he'd think he could talk to her and treat her any kind of way he wanted. She refused to submit to him or anyone for that matter.

"Whatever." She dismissed him with a wave of her hand and went back to packing her bag.

Fitz hesitated in front of her. He stared at her incredulously. They've been together for five years and because he fathered a child that wasn't hers, she didn't know if she wanted to be with him anymore. If she really loved him the way she claimed she would stay and work out their issues like a real woman, instead of running away.

A part of him was relieved that she was leaving though. He was tired and could use a little time to himself. A lot had been going on his life and if Mellie wanted to leave, he wasn't going to stop her. Her leaving would actually be beneficial to him as well. She was right about one thing - that he also had some things to figure out. He wasn't concerned about Mellie because this was what she did when they got into big fights. She would pack and leave for a few days and come back, acting as if nothing happened.

Fitz wasn't bothered when she did that because she came back happy and they were on good terms, so he let her do her thing if it resulted in serenity. This time wasn't different than the others, but now he had to factor Mason and Olivia in the equation. He hoped when Mellie came back, she didn't give him an ultimatum because he doubted she would like his decision. He loved her, but Mason was the most important person in his life and came first before anyone or anything else. He would choose his son over her if that was what it came to. Olivia too because she and Mason were a package deal.

With a sigh, Fitz strode back to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of scotch, which he nursed in the living room as he flipped through the channels on TV. Mellie emerged from the bedroom, rolling two suitcases, just as he found a program to watch. He refused to look at her even though he could feel her burning a hole in the side of his head.

"Aren't you going to say anything, Fitzgerald?" Mellie spat.

Fitz shook his head and took another sip from his glass. His eyes remained trained on the plasma screen ahead of him. He was not going to entertain her petulant behavior.

"Nope. I'm giving you exactly what you want. You said you needed time and space, I'm not going to stop you. Go ahead, take all the time and space you need." He encouraged her.

Mellie looked at him in disbelief. She couldn't believe he was going to let her leave without putting up some kind of fight. He usually asked her not to go, but this time he seemed indifferent. His nonchalance pissed her off. She let the handles of the bags go and stomped over to him, snatching his half empty tumbler from out of his hand. She threw the beverage in his face and hurled the glass to the floor, shattering it into tiny sharp pieces.

Fitz remained seated, staring straight ahead. His face was stone and jaw set tight as his chest heaved. He looked up at Mellie slowly. The expression on his face told her she better get out of there fast because he was seconds away from losing whatever self-control he had left.

Mellie quickly walked back over to collect her bags before heading to the door. "I hope you burn in hell, asshole." She told him before walking out of the door.

Fitz shook his head and chuckled dryly at her immaturity. Her words had no effect on him whatsoever, but her actions were uncalled for. Throwing a drink in his face was completely unnecessary and avoidable. Why couldn't she have just left when he told her to, instead of trying to rile him up? She was lucky he was the type of man that was raised to never lay hands on a woman with the intent to bring harm to her because if he hadn't been, he would have probably retaliated in a violent way.

He released a deep breath before standing up and walking down the hall to the bathroom, where he took a much needed hot shower. After he got out of the shower, he changed into gray pajama pants and a white t-shirt. He then headed back into the living room to clean up the mess Mellie made. When he finished, he collapsed onto the couch with an exhausted sigh.

As soon as his eyes slipped closed, his phone started ringing, alerting him of an incoming call. Fitz prayed it wasn't Mellie because she was the last person he wanted to talk to at the moment. To his surprise, it was Olivia requesting to FaceTime him. He swiped the bottom of the screen to the right and waited for the video call to connect. The first thing he saw were Mason's pink gums and white nubs poking through them. He could hear Olivia in the background telling Mason not to put her phone in his mouth. That sight immediately brought a huge smile to Fitz's face. He screenshotted the image appearing before him.

"Hi buddy."

Hearing his father's voice stopped Mason from trying to chew the phone and he looked down at the device's screen. He squealed when he saw his father smiling at him. Mason pressed the screen, trying to touch his father's face, which resulted in him accidentally hitting the red end call button. Fitz unlocked his phone with the intent of calling them back, but they beat him to it.

When the call connected again, Olivia was now holding the phone with Mason sitting in her lap, reaching for the phone.

"Hey Fitz, sorry about that. Your son accidentally hung up attempting to touch your goofy looking nose." Olivia teased.

Fitz laughed, "It's okay, I figured."

"What are you up to?"

"Nothing much. I got home about an hour ago and now I'm just relaxing, missing you guys like crazy." He had no shame admitting that he missed them and it had only been a few hours since he last saw them.

"We miss you too. Right Mace, don't we miss your daddy?" Olivia tickled Mason's sides. He laughed and squirmed in her lap. "Well we just wanted to call you and tell you goodnight." She said to Fitz.

Fitz smiled tiredly at them, "Thank you, this made my night." He sighed as the events of the night came flooding back into his mind.

Olivia could tell something was bothering him and questioned him about it, "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." He lied rather pathetically. Olivia was unconvinced.

"I'm going to go put him down and then we can talk about whatever is bothering you."

"Liv, I'm ok-"

"Tell daddy night night." She cut him off, turning her attention to their son and leaving no room in between for him to protest. They were going to discuss what was clearly weighing on his mind.

Fitz conceded because he had absolutely no energy to go back and forth with her. "Night night buddy. I love you." He waved to Mason before Olivia turned him around and stood up with him.

"Fitz, I'll be right back. Don't hang up."

"I won't." He assured her.

He patiently waited for her while she put Mason down. She wasn't gone too long. When she returned, she sat criss cross on her bed wearing pink pajamas shorts paired with a white tank top. She wore black framed eyeglasses in lieu of her clear contacts and her hair was piled atop her head in a messy bun. Little things like that reminded him just how young she was.

"So what's up?"

"The ceiling." Fitz joked, causing Olivia to roll her eyes, but also giggle at his corny joke.

"I'm being serious, Fitz! What's wrong?"

"The results from the paternity test came back."

"And?" Olivia asked, wanting to know what they said. She already knew the results, but his mood made her slightly nervous that they weren't what either of them thought they'd be.

"He's mine." Fitz stated simply.

Olivia was confused by his reaction. She thought he would be… excited to find out Mason was definitely his son. "So what's the problem then? Why do you look so down in the dumps? I thought you'd be happy to have confirmation that Mason's yours."

Fitz sighed and ran a hand through his damp curls. "I am. I am. I'm sorry if I don't seem like I am but I have a lot on my mind right now." He paused. He didn't know if he wanted to tell her what went down between him and Mellie earlier. He knew he could trust her, but it felt it would be weird to talk to her about his fiancé. They never really talked about her. He wouldn't be surprised if Olivia had forgotten he even had one.

"When I came home, I found Mellie reading the results of the paternity test. We didn't have a knock down drag out fight like I thought we would when she found out about you and Mason but the argument still took a lot out of me. When it was over, Mellie packed her bags and left after telling me she hopes I burn in hell and calling me an asshole. I don't get it Liv, I explained everything to her. I was completely honest with her and as a result I get a drink thrown in my face and insulted. I didn't even do anything."

Fitz could feel himself start to get worked up again. He took several deep breaths to calm himself down. Olivia remained mute and her silence wasn't helping him.

"Liv, I don't know what to do. Mason is my son, I will always him put him above everything."

It wasn't Olivia's place to talk about his fiancé or his relationship, so she refrained from doing so.

"Fitz, it's not your fault that she acted the way she did. I obviously don't know you as well as she does but from what I gathered so far you're a good man and an even better father. I know I would be lucky to have you."

Both were shocked by that last part. Olivia wasn't expecting herself to say that and Fitz wasn't expecting to hear it.

Fitz cleared his throat to break the awkward silence that briefly fell upon them. "Um...thanks Liv, for listening to me. I really appreciate it. You're a real woman, a great woman and an awesome mom. Your ex was a fool to ever let you go. If you were mine I would never take you for granted. I'm lucky to have you as the mother of my child and would be even luckier if you were more to me. I mean… what kind of coward was I to propose to her and not wait for you to show up? The question was aimed directly towards himself and meant to be rhetorical.

"Fitz, I don't know what to say." Olivia admitted.

She truly had no response to give him. At the moment, her emotions were all over the place. She was confused and felt like he was sending her mixed signals. They formed some kind of relationship in the past two weeks they've been in contact with each other. She didn't know if they were friends or becoming something more. The only thing she was a hundred percent sure about was that they were parents to an adorable almost seven month old baby boy.

"You don't have to say anything. It is what it is." He said gently, shrugging.

Like Olivia, he too was conflicted about his feelings for her. He didn't know what it was about her, but he couldn't stop thinking about her in ways an engaged man had no business thinking about a woman who wasn't going to be his wife soon.

"Okay." Olivia said softly, pulling him from his thoughts. "You have a goodnight, Fitz."

Fitz offered her a small smile, "You too, Livvie."

They simultaneously disconnected the call. Both knew it was going to be hours before their brains finally tire and allowed their bodies to rest.

Throughout the week Olivia and Fitz avoided having conversations that were as personal as the one they had Sunday night. They knew they were playing a very dangerous game - one they couldn't risk losing. It was now the end of the week and Fitz was at the airport to pick up Olivia and Mason. He was standing in baggage claim, awaiting their arrival.

Mellie had yet to come back from wherever she was or contact him, which was odd because the longest she'd been gone was a couple of days. Fitz chuckled. His love life was more complicated than performing open heart surgery blindfolded. He didn't know where he stood with Mellie or Olivia. He had no idea what the status of either of his relationships were, but he needed to figure them out soon because he couldn't keep pretending that he wasn't being affected by both women. Lately, Mellie had been getting on his nerves and Olivia had been pulling at his heartstrings. He loved Mellie, but he felt something for Olivia that felt just as strong as love.

Olivia made him the happiest man in the world when he spotted her and Mason. He immediately rushed to greet them.

"Hey you two!" He plucked Mason right out of Olivia's arms. "Hi Mace, daddy's missed you so much." He gently squeezed his son in his embrace and kissed his forehead. He leaned over to give Olivia a side hug. "Hi." He smiled down at her.

"Hi." She smiled up at him.

"Ready?"

Olivia shook her head, "Not yet. I have to claim my baggage." She quipped.

Fitz handed Mason back to Olivia so he could retrieve her baggage, which he carried all the way to his car.

"My parents had one of the guestrooms made up for you and they turned one of the other guestrooms into a nursery for Mason." He informed Olivia when they were in his vehicle and in route to his parents' home.

"Mason and I can stay at a hotel. It's fine. I feel bad that your parents went through all that trouble for us."

"Olivia, stop it. You and Mason are not staying at a hotel. Besides my parents are ecstatic that you're staying with them for the weekend. You're the mother of my son, their grandson and you both will not receive anything less than the best when you're with me and my family. I can promise you that."

Hearing his reassuring words was enough to make Olivia feel better about staying at his parents' home. She didn't want her and Mason to be a burden or to be treated like a charity case. She was capable of taking care of her and her son without accepting handouts. All she wanted from the Grants was to have a relationship with her son.

When Fitz finally arrived at his parents' abode, Olivia's jaw dropped and her eyes nearly bulged out of her head. She had never in her entire existence seen a house as enormous or as stunning as Fitz's parents'. Yes, she saw very large expensive homes in pictures and videos, but to actually see one in person was… surreal.

"Wow Fitz, this place is huge!" Do your parents really live here?" Olivia asked, amazed by its size and beauty.

Fitz laughed at her reaction. "Yes, they do. Come on, let's go inside. They're dying to see you and Mason again." He unsnapped Mason from his car seat and carried him to the house, while a still astonished Olivia followed behind them.

"Mom! Dad! We're here!" Fitz announced as soon as they entered the house. His sudden raised voice startled Mason, who had fallen asleep on the ride over, causing him to whimper. "Aw, I'm sorry buddy. Daddy didn't mean to scare you." He consoled his upset son by rubbing his back and kissing his temple.

"Fitzgerald, what did you do to my grandson?" Catherine asked as soon as she walked in the foyer to find her son soothing her upset grandson. "Hi Liv." She hugged Olivia.

"I scared him a little when I called out to you and dad." Fitz explained as she extracted Mason from his arms.

Catherine glared at him. "How many times have I told you to use your indoor voice when you're inside? You were taught that as a little boy."

"Mom, I'm sorry but this is a very big house and you and dad's hearing is not what it used to be."

"I heard that." Big Jerry interjected as he joined them. "Hi son." He pulled Fitz into a hug.

"Hey dad."

When they pulled apart, Big Jerry looked over at Olivia with a friendly smile. "Hello Olivia. It's nice to see you again."

"You too."

They hugged.

"What's wrong with my handsome grandson?" Big Jerry asked, using the pad of his thumb to wipe away some of Mason's tears.

"Fitzgerald's big mouth scared him." Catherine snitched on her son, throwing him a displeased glance.

Big Jerry looked at Fitz, "You're an idiot, you know that? What's the matter with you?"

Fitz rolled his eyes.

"You guys are overreacting. Calm down, it's not that serious."

"Is your son overreacting as well?" Jerry fired back.

All of the adults looked at the still whimpering baby cuddled up in his grandmother's arms.

"No." He grumbled and reached out to stroke his son's soft curls. "Shhh don't cry, Mace. Daddy's really sorry for raising his voice and startling you."

His soothing tone did the trick. He got Mason to settle back down.

"Olivia, where are your things dear?" Catherine asked, turning her attention to the much younger woman.

"They're out in the car." Olivia responded.

"Jerry, you and Fitz go get Olivia's bags and bring them up to her room please." She commanded both her husband and son.

"I'll help watch you get them." Jerry told Fitz on their way out.

Fitz shook his head at his father and said, "Sad."

"While they get your bags, I'll show you to your room." Catherine motioned for Olivia to follow her.

Olivia admired the home while they ascended up a large staircase. "You have a very beautiful home." She complimented

"Thank you dear."

Olivia followed her down the long hallway until they stopped in front of a closed door. Catherine turned the knob and opened the door, revealing what's behind it. Olivia's jaw went slack for the second time that day, in less than fifteen minutes. She wouldn't consider herself materialistic, however, that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate the finer things in life. The room was absolutely stunning.

"Woooow." Olivia stretched the word as she stepped into the room, taking it in fully.

"Do you like it?" Catherine inquired with a smile, already knowing the answer.

"Do I? I love it!"

"I'm happy to hear that. I wanted your stay here to be comfortable and pleasant. Mi casa es su casa."

Olivia stopped drooling over the room long enough to thank Fitz's mom and hug her for her hospitality.

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it but you guys didn't have to go through all of this trouble for little ole us. Really, I could stay at a hotel if you'd like. I don't want us to be a bother."

Catherine waved her off, "Oh nonsense, I won't hear of it."

"Neither will I." Big Jerry seconded, entering the room with Fitz behind him carrying Olivia's bag and Mason's baby bag in each hand.

"Told ya." Fitz gloated. "Where do you want me to put these?" Referring to the bags in his hand.

"The bed's fine." Olivia told him.

He nodded and dropped them on the bed.

"Let's give Olivia some privacy to get settled in." Big Jerry suggested to the other Grants, who agreed. "Olivia, when you're done Fitzgerald will give you a tour of the house. No room is off limits, so feel free to rome anywhere."

"Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Grant."

"Again with the Mr. and Mrs. crap. You're making us feel old. We're Jerry and Catherine to you." He winked at her and guided his wife out of the room after she reluctantly passed Mason off to his father.

Fitz took a seat on the edge of the bed and placed Mason in the middle of it. He pulled a small stuffed monkey doll from out of his left pocket and started making monkey noises as he brought the toy to Mason's face.

"Whooped, whooped… muah! He gave you a kiss? You give that monkey a kiss? Give daddy a kiss. Grrrrr."

Fitz leaned in and started attacking the crook of his son's neck with kisses as Mason reached for the monkey in his hand.

Olivia smiled at their interaction.

"You grew up in this house?" She asked Fitz as she started to unpack.

"Yep."

"I bet you got lost a lot as a kid."

He only shrugged. He was used to being in homes such as the one they were occupying.

"I'm afraid to touch anything. Everything looks so expensive."

"It is." Fitz smirked.

Olivia narrowed her eyes at him, "Thanks, that makes me feel so much better. I'm a klutz, I can't stay here. It would take me far into my afterlife to pay something in here off if I broke it."

"Liv, relax. You don't have to worry about touching or breaking anything." He gestured around the room. "All of this stuff is pricey yes but also replaceable, believe me. When we were younger, Kara and I broke so much shit my parents threaten to make us live outside. They said if we wanted to act like wild animals then we'll live outside like wild animals because that's where they belong."

Olivia just stared at him. She had no words for him. She appreciated his attempt to put her at ease, but it didn't work.

With gentle care, Fitz picked up Mason who was starting to doze off and stood with him in his arms.

"I know you're probably tired so I'm going to go downstairs and see what these old people have to eat." Olivia giggled. "If you need anything, there's an intercom in here." He pointed to the tablet beside the plasma TV mounted on the wall located directly across from the bed. "It's easy to use. All you have to do is press the area of the house you want to contact someone in. You can either make voice calls or video calls. If Maria doesn't answer in the kitchen or wherever she might be in the house, you can just call her mobile phone. She'll always answer. You haven't met her yet, she's the housekeeper. She's a really nice lady and she'll see to it that all your and Mason's needs are met."

"Okay."

Olivia didn't like the idea of someone waiting on her hand and foot. She was more than capable of taking care of her and Mason's personal needs. She didn't grow up with a housekeeper to do everything for her except wipe her ass. Her parents raised her to be independent, to not rely on others to take care of her. She could make her own food, wash her own dishes, make her own bed, do her own laundry, etc.

"I'm going to put him down. His nursery is right next door. Do you want to come check it out?"

"Yes."

Fitz led them out of the room and into the one right next to it. He flipped the switch on the wall right near the door, turning on the light. All of the furniture was white as well as the plush carpeted floor and complemented well with the sky blue painted walls. A large gray "M" was painted on the wall and Mason's name was painted over top of it in white fancy lettering. Also, on the wall were framed pictures of Mason that Fitz had printed from his phone and given to his parents. The many assorted multicolored toys placed neatly around the room brought vibrancy to it. Everything essential Mason needed was in there. Olivia was impressed to say the least. There was even a futon couch that turned into a bed just in case she wanted to sleep in there with Mason.

"You think he'll like it?" Fitz asked her as he laid Mason down in his crib and covered him with a small blanket.

"Absolutely. Look at this room. It's amazing. Your parents went all out for him. I shouldn't even be surprised."

Fitz chuckled, "He's their first and only grandchild so far, of course they're going to spoil him anyway they know how."

"I bet they bought the most expensive furniture in the whole damn store."

Fitz put a hand on her shoulder and informed her, "They did" She groaned. "What'd you expect, Liv?"

"Not this." She sassed.

"Olivia, stop worrying about how expensive everything is and just enjoy yourself. I know you're not wired that way but it would make this weekend better for all of us if you loosened up and allowed us to take care of you. I get it, you come from humble beginnings and not accustomed to our lifestyle but it would mean a great deal to my parents if you accept their hospitality. They like you… a lot. If they didn't you wouldn't be receiving this kind of treatment."

Olivia sighed and reluctantly agreed, "Fine."

"That means you can't give any of us a hard time if we offer to do something for you." He explained, making Olivia suck her teeth and roll her eyes.

"Fine." She reiterated.

Fitz smiled, satisfied with her answer. "Good." With that being said, he grabbed the baby monitor and handed it to Olivia.

"Thanks."

The parent's left their son to rest undisturbed in his nursery. They parted ways outside of Olivia room's door. Fitz went to find something to eat while Olivia finished unpacking, afterwards taking a nap. She must've been really tired because she slept for just about two hours. The first thing she did when she woke up was take a shower in the room's ensuite bathroom. She then changed into fresh clothes before going to check on Mason. He wasn't in his crib. Panic immediately set in, but quickly subsided once she remembered whose home she was in. Fitz or his parents most likely had her son.

She ventured downstairs to confirm her thoughts. Sure enough, Mason was sitting on his grandfather's lap in the living room while the other two Grants sat on the opposite. All of them were discussing Mellie when she walked in. Catherine was the first to notice her.

"Hey Liv." She acknowledged her quickly before continuing her discussion with Fitz. "All I'm saying is I don't think Mellie is the one for you. I wish you'd see that for yourself."

She didn't care that Olivia was in the room, listening to their conversation. In fact, she wanted Olivia to hear them. Catherine wanted Fitz to be with her, not solely because they had a son together, but because she could see they obviously had some kind of feelings for each other and they would make a cute couple.

"Well she left me so I guess you got your wish." He told her information she already knew.

"Thank God."

Olivia snickered at Catherine's reply.

"Whatever." Fitz grumbled and turned to Olivia. "Can I talk to you?"

"Sure."

He got up from the couch and walked with her into the kitchen.

"What's up?" Olivia asked.

"Are you hungry?" Her stomach took it upon itself to answer for her. They both laughed. "I guess that's a yes. Do you want to go grab a bite to eat?"

"Just the two of us?"

"Well… yeah. My parents are having dinner at one of their friend's houses and they wanted to take Mason with them, if that's okay with you."

"Of course."

Olivia would always worry about her son no matter where or who he was with, but she trusted Fitz's parents enough to leave him in their care.

"So that leaves us. We could stay in if you want but I thought it'd be nice if we got out. I could show you around the city."

Olivia smiled, "I would like that very much."

"Yeah?" She nodded. "Okay. I'll tell my parents and then we can go."

Fitz went back into the living room to inform his parents of their plans for the night before he and Olivia left.

"I hope tonight's the night they come to their senses." Catherine said to her husband.

"So do I." He turned Mason to face him. "Don't you want mommy and daddy to be together so the three of you can be a little happy family?" In response, Mason blew bubbles with his drool, giggling when they popped. Big Jerry laughed at his grandson's antics. "I know you do."

"So are you in the mood for anything in particular or are you fine with whatever?" Fitz asked Olivia as he drove them with no destination in mind yet.

"Umm…" Olivia looked out the window, in search of her options. "I'm not sure. Where do you usually go when you eat out?"

Fitz shrugged, "Eh, it depends. Most times I go to an upscale restaurant but I'm not really in the mood to eat anywhere fancy."

Olivia's insecurities immediately consumed her. Was he afraid of someone he knew seeing them together? Would he be embarrassed if they did? Was he ashamed of her? Many thoughts similar to those bounced around her brain. Luckily Fitz's voice saved her from getting caught up in her own head.

"Liv… hey Liv." He snapped his fingers in front of her, causing her to jump a little.

"Huh?"

"Whoa, you okay?"

"Uh yeah, sorry about that." She apologized. "What were you saying?"

"I asked you if you wanted pizza. I know this little place that has really great pizza."

Olivia snorted, "What is it with you New Yorkers? You guys swear you make the best pizza."

"Because it's true." He responded cockily.

"It's a myth, that's what it is." She sassed.

"How about you try it before you knock it?" Fitz suggested.

"Fine. I'll try it so I can knock it."

Fitz shook his head. She was something else.

"Mmmm, this is so gooood." Olivia moaned as she took another bite out of her slice of pizza.

"I hate to tell you told ya so but… told ya so."

She would stick her tongue out at him if her mouth wasn't stuffed with the most delicious pizza she had ever tasted. Fitz chuckled and took a bite out his own slice. They made small talk as they ate and shared many laughs in between. They each had two pieces of pizza. Fitz's choice of drink was a beer. Olivia opted to drink lemonade. When they finished eating was when the conversation turned more serious.

"Fitz, can I ask you something?"

"Of course, anything."

Olivia hesitated before she finally came right out and asked him, "How come we didn't go to one of the upscale restaurants you usually go to? Are you scared of being seen with me by one of your friends or colleagues or something?"

Her bravery lasted all of three seconds before her nerves set back in and her timidness took over. Her eyes averted to her drink. She mixed the ice around the cup using her straw. Fitz mentally cursed at himself. He definitely wasn't thinking that when he told her he wasn't in the mood to eat rich food, but he could understand how she interpreted it that way.

"Hey…" He said softly. "Liv… look at me." She refused. "Look at me." He urged in the same gentle tone. "Look. At. Me." Fitz reached across the table and grabbed her hand. "Can you look at me… please?"

Olivia finally lifted her eyes until they were staring him in his. Fitz wanted to punch himself for being the reason for the unshed tears in them.

"I could never… I would never be embarrassed to be seen with you in public by people who know me. You misunderstood when I said I didn't want to go to those restaurants. I meant I wasn't in the mood to eat food I eat almost every day. I'm tired of that rich food. I rarely eat pizza and figured you would enjoy eating it a lot more. I'm really sorry if I hurt your feelings. That was never my intention. If you want we can go to a fancy restaurant."

Olivia shook her head. "No, that's okay. I should be the one apologizing. I'm sorry for overthinking."

"You don't have to apologize. If the roles were reversed, I would've probably thought the same thing about you."

They sit in an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes, both deep in thought. Olivia was the one to break it.

"Okay." She said simply.

Fitz furrowed his brows. He was confused. "Okay?"

"You asked me to move to New York so you can be in Mason's everyday life. I finally made my decision… okay."

The goofiest smile formed on Fitz's face. He didn't care how ridiculous he looked. He was so damn happy. Olivia had just agreed to move to the east coast so Mason and her could be closer to him. He didn't think she knew just how much that meant to him. Fitz abruptly stood up and walked around the table. He pulled Olivia to her feet and into a hug.

"Thank you so much." He squeezed her, not hard enough to hurt her, but hard enough for her to know just how appreciative he was.

She laughed at his reaction and hugged him back. "You're welcome. It's what's best for Mason, right?"

"Right!" Fitz agreed, excitedly, reoccupying his seat. He cleared his throat. "I mean… we could make it work. We'll spend a lot of money traveling back and forth but it is possible."

"Are you trying to talk me out of it after you spent weeks trying to convince me to move here?" Olivia questioned with a quirked brow and an amused grin.

Fitz quickly shook his head, "No, definitely not. I was just saying."

"Ahh."

They spend the rest of their time at the restaurant talking about the arrangements they need to make in order to make Olivia's transition from California to New York as smooth as possible. They had time, several months of time, to take care of what they needed, so they weren't in a rush to do them right away. After the remaining pizza slices were boxed and paid for by Fitz, the two of them left.

Fitz cruised through city, showing Olivia around. He pointed out various establishments he thought she'd be interested in checking out. They or she alone would explore more of the city at a later date, most likely after she had already moved. It was a little past midnight when they arrived back at Fitz' parents' house. All of the lights were out, which told Fitz everybody was asleep.

Using his key, he unlocked the front door and walked in behind Olivia. He closed the door behind them and locked it, setting the alarm afterwards. Olivia went with Fitz to the kitchen to put away their leftovers before the two made their way upstairs. When they reached Olivia's closed bedroom door, she turned to face Fitz. He was standing with his hands in his pockets. Olivia's hands were behind her back. One was gripping the doorknob and the other was over top of it.

"Thank you for dinner and showing me around. I had a really good time tonight." She said with a small smile.

Fitz's facial expression mirrored hers. "You're welcome. So did I."

Olivia awkwardly fidgeted with the doorknob for a few seconds before she finally said, "Uh… well goodnight Fitz."

Fitz leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on Olivia's cheek.

He whispered, "Goodnight Liv." He pulled back, but not very far.

With his face mere inches from hers - his lips mere inches from hers, the air around them grew thick. They alternated between gazing into each other's eyes and at each other's lips. Both wanted the same thing, but neither was sure who should initiate it. Slowly their faces started to gravitate towards one another as if there was some invisible magnet pulling them together. Within seconds they were caught in a languid liplock.

Fitz removed his hands from his pockets and placed his palms firmly against the door behind Olivia. Olivia released the doorknob and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her hands in the short curls at the back of his head.

"Mmm." She moaned softly against his lips.

Not wanting to disturb anyone or get caught, Fitz searched for the doorknob with his left hand all the while still engaged in a heated game of tonsil hockey with Olivia. He finally found it and twisted it, opening the door. The duo stumbled through the threshold, laughing quietly as they did so. With his right arm wrapped around Olivia's waist, Fitz used his left hand to close the same door he'd just opened.

Blindly, they navigated their way through the pitch black room, staggering over to the bed. As they headed toward the Californian king, they frantically worked on disrobing each other. By the time they made it to their destination, they were both completed naked. The force of Olivia's legs coming in contact with the bed caused them to take a tumble. Olivia fell flat on her back and Fitz landed on top of her. Again, they had to laugh at their shenanigans. Fitz maneuvered them further up the bed with his lips still firmly pressed against hers.

Impressively, their lips disconnected only once and that was when their shirts were being removed. Even then, they managed to stay separated for seconds before their lips were fused back together.

Olivia breathlessly watched Fitz descend down her fully exposed body leaving a trail of wet kisses. Her breath hitched in anticipation as his mouth hovered centimeters above where she desired it most. Her legs were spread wide apart and rested comfortably on his shoulders. Fitz stared at her dripping core like a starved man about to feast. Olivia shivered when his warm breath blew on her swollen nub. She looked down in between her legs to see a sinister smirk on Fitz's face as he lowered it. A second later she felt his tongue gradually lick her slit before he latched onto her clit. He sucked on it hard and swirled his tongue around it.

Olivia's hips shot off the bed when he nipped it with his front teeth. Fitz pinned her body down with his right hand, while his left hand found its way to her entrance. He slowly slid two fingers inside of her, causing her hips to buck. Fitz fingered her slippery walls with so much power behind each thrust. Olivia knew she wasn't going to last long from the ministrations his skillful mouth and fingers were doing to her. She was just about to let go when Fitz pulled his fingers out of her. He grinned at her, bringing his two fingers coated in her juices to his mouth, where he sucked them clean. Olivia was mesmerized by the man lying in between her legs.

She was taken out of her sex induced trance when Fitz kissed his way back up her body until he reached her lips. He kissed her plumped lips hard and snaked his tongue inside her mouth so she could taste herself. In desperate need of oxygen, Olivia pulled away from their kiss. Fitz moved off of her, giving her a moment to catch her breath. She was going to need all of it for what he had in store for her. Lying on his back, Fitz pulled Olivia on top of him. Her essence dripped on his toned abs.

"Ride my face." His deep husky voice commanded.

Olivia was reluctant at first because she never did anything like that before. Fitz assured her that it was okay and to trust him. His assuring words were enough to convince her. She carefully moved up his body until her vagina was hovering right above his face. Fitz hooked both of his arms over her hips, locking them in place. He then lowered her down onto his face. Olivia felt awkward sitting on his face at first, but her reservations went out the window when she felt Fitz's harden tongue slip through her slick folds and enter her wetness. She threw her head back as a moan escaped from her mouth. She had to bite her lip to avoid making too much noise. The last thing they wanted to do was wake up the entire house with their late night sexcapade.

Fitz continued to assault her with his tongue and pretty soon Olivia started to grind against his face. The sensation was becoming too much for her. She tried to lift her hips, but once again Fitz wouldn't let her. He smirked against her as he flicked his tongue across her clit.

"Mmmm Fitz too much." She whispered and tried to push his head away.

Fitz managed to grab both of her wrists with his right hand, while his left arm wrapped around her waist. He was not going to stop until Olivia came from the magic his mouth was performing on her. He spelled out his entire name as he continued to sex her with his tongue. First name, F-I-T-Z-G-E-R-A-L-D… middle name, T-H-O-M-A-S… last name, G-R-A-N-T… name suffix, I-I-I. That was his way of marking his territory, even though she technically wasn't his to mark. Fitz let go of her hand and used his right thumb to rub deep circles into her clit as his tongue plunged in and out of her.

"Oh… oh god… Fi… Fitz... I… I'm cu… mm… ahh!" Olivia panted as her orgasm hit hard.

Her legs shook as her sweet nectar squirted directly into Fitz's hungry awaiting mouth. She leaned forward, resting her head against the headboard trying to regulate her breathing. All the while, Fitz was still feasting on her, sucking and licking till she was too sensitive to take anymore. He helped raise her off his face and Olivia collapsed face first beside him onto the bed absolutely spent. Fitz sat on his knees at the foot of the bed admiring the work he did on her body.

His eyes scanned her sexy body. He admired her curves and edges, while softly running the tip of his left index finger down her back. He loved the way her silky smooth chocolate skin felt under his gentle touch. What he loved the most was her perfectly round shaped globes. He never saw an ass as fantastic as hers in his life. Not on models, not on Mellie, or the past women he'd slept with, not on any woman he ever laid eyes on. Fitz bent down and kissed each of her firm yet soft cheeks. Olivia tensed from the feeling of his mouth coming in contact with that specific area of her body. She was into kinky doings during sex, but anal play was strictly off limits.

"Fitz don't." She told him uneasily and turned her head to look back at him.

"Don't worry. I'm not going to. I was just showing my appreciation." Fitz reassured her in that velvety voice of his.

He kissed both cheeks again before ghosting his lips up her body. Olivia revelled in the feeling of his breath on the surface of her hot and slightly perspired skin. He kissed her neck when his lips came in contact with it, while placing her hands flat against the headboard. Fitz got settled on top of her, holding his upper body up with his hands that were pressed firmly against the mattress on either side of Olivia's head. He aligned himself up at her opening and entered her in one deep stroke. They both moaned from the feeling of their bodies connecting.

Fitz had to take a minute to control himself, so he didn't cum prematurely. Olivia was so tight around his large manhood. Once he was sure he wasn't going to cum right away, he began moving inside of her. He kissed the back of her neck as he prone boned her deep and hard. He wanted her to feel every glorious inch of his manhood. The only sounds that could be heard throughout the room were their soft moans, their skin slapping together, and the mattress squeaking underneath their weight. Each time Fitz rammed into Olivia, his balls tapped her clit, causing low uncontrollable moans to leave her mouth. She had to bite her pillow, in order to muffle the sounds.

Olivia needed something to do with her hands. Holding onto the headboard would no longer suffice. She reached behind her and stuffed her hands in Fitz's hair. Fitz removed her hands from his hair and interlaced his with hers.

"Damn." Fitz grunted in her ear.

He was close and he could tell Olivia was too from the way her walls were pulsating around his rigid length. A few strokes later, Olivia came, softly chanting his name.

"Oh Fitz. Oh Fitz."

"Fuck."

Fitz squeezed his eyes shut just as he was about to bust his load and this time there was no piercing voice preventing him from getting off nor was he dreaming, though this felt oddly familiar. He swore he had been here before. Talk about deja vu. What he and Olivia were doing was very real. As his orgasm neared, his thrusts became faster and less fluent. It didn't take him long to follow Olivia over the edge spilling his seed inside of her in hot spurts.

"Ahh!" He groaned.

Olivia clenched and unclenched her inner muscles, milking Fitz completely dry. Out of breath and spent, Fitz slowly pulled out of Olivia and rolled onto his back. Olivia turned on her side with caution, careful not to make a mess and snuggled up to Fitz, resting her head on his chest. She could hear his heart slamming against his chest. Fitz instinctively slipped his arm under her shoulder and pulled her closer to his side. The tips of his fingers gently caressed her upper arm.

They laid there for several minutes, not saying anything. They were content just to be in each other's arms post coitus. Fitz eventually got up to go into the ensuite bathroom where he cleaned himself up and retrieved a damp washcloth for Olivia to clean herself with. When all of the evidence of what they'd done was erased off of their bodies, they slipped underneath the covers. This time however, Fitz crawled up behind Olivia and threw a protective arm over her left hip so that they were now in a spooning position. It wasn't long before she felt him hardening against her butt.

"We're not done are we?" She asked as he started kissing her shoulder blade.

His hand slid up her abdomen until one of her breasts was in its grasp. He gently gave it squeeze as he fondled it.

"Not even close."

Later that morning, Olivia woke up in bed by herself. She felt the empty space Fitz's body previously occupied beside her. It was still warm which meant he must've just gotten up. Maybe Mason woke him up. She reached over and retrieved her phone from where it was charging on the nightstand. She used it to check the time. 6:21 a.m. It was still pretty early, but she was used to being woken up at this ungodly hour by her precious baby boy. Right on cue, she heard his cries through the baby monitor.

What the hell? Wasn't he with Fitz?

Olivia hopped out of bed and went to tend to her son after she threw on a bra and panty set, orange pajama pants, a white tank top, and her eyeglasses. When she entered the nursery, Mason was sitting up in his crib, bawling his eyes out.

"Aww don't cry baby, mommy's right here."

As soon as Mason heard his mother's voice, he turned in her direction and raised his arms. Olivia picked him and held him close to her chest, comforting him. His cries turned into sniffles.

"I know. You're hungry. Let's get you fed."

Olivia changed his diaper first before they headed downstairs.

"I wonder where your daddy is?" She voiced her thoughts out loud.

As she approached the final step, she heard low voices. One of the voices was deep. She instantly identified it as Fitz's. Olivia slightly leaned over the railing to see him standing in the foyer talking to a woman. Olivia didn't need to wonder who the woman was. She knew exactly who she was. Mellie.

What was she doing here? Olivia thought to herself.

Before she could mentally go down the list of reasons why Mellie was there, Mason started whining, reminding her that he was hungry.

"Okay, okay I'm going geez."

Neither Fitz nor Mellie noticed them. They appeared to be in a deep discussion. Olivia couldn't exactly hear what they were saying due to the hushed tones they were speaking in. She almost made it to the kitchen undetected, however, Mason blew their cover when he spotted his dad. He started babbling, trying to his father's attention. It worked.

Both Fitz and Mellie turned to see they weren't alone. Olivia stood their awkwardly.

"Uh...don't mind us. We were just going to get some breakfast." She started to make an exit, but Fitz stopped her.

"Wait Liv um…" He looked at Mellie. "Mellie, this is Olivia, my son's-"

Before he could finish making their introductions, Mellie cut him off. Pushing passed Fitz, she approached Olivia and Mason.

"Oh you must be the nanny and this little cutie must be Mason."

The nanny? How dare this bitch.

She reached out and pinched Mason's cheek much to his and his mother's dismay. He pushed Mellie's hand away and hid his face in his mother's bosom. Olivia immediately turned Mason out of Mellie's reach.

"Actually I'm his mother."

The fake smile on Mellie's face faltered. She was clearly taken aback.

"Excuse me?"

Fitz carefully approached them and finished what he was going to say before she interrupted him and made a fool of herself. There she went, jumping to conclusions again.

He cleared his throat and spoke slowly.

"As I was saying, Mellie, this is Olivia. The mother of my child. Olivia, this is Mellie." He hesitated. He knew what he was about to say next would ruin his relationship or whatever he had with Olivia. "My fiancé." He declared with his eyes cast down, too ashamed and afraid to look at Olivia.

Fiancé?

Olivia felt like someone just knocked the wind out of her.

I thought they broke up. She thought to herself. Her confusion instantly turned into mortification and anger. How could she have been so stupid, so naive to have slept with him. He probably lied just so he could have his way with her and here she thought he was different than men like Edison.

Although she hid her emotions well, Fitz could feel every single one radiating off of her body. He still, however, was unable to look her in the eye.

Coward.

Turning her attention to Mellie, she insincerely stated, "It's nice to meet you."

That caused Mellie to smile brightly. She outstretched her left hand in an attempt to show off her very large, very pricey engagement ring. Reluctantly Olivia took her offered hand and shook it briefly, suppressing the urge to roll her eyes.

Again Mason started fussing and headbutted his mother's chest. His way of demanding to be fed. He was beyond frustrated from being neglected and if he had to throw a tantrum to get his way, so be it.

"I better go make him a bottle before he body slams one of us. Excuse us."

Olivia was relieved to finally leave the room. Motherhood had so many benefits like using a child as an excuse to get out of situations such as the one she was in. Mason always had his momma's back. He was truly Olivia's little partner in crime.

"Ta ta." Mellie waved as they exited the room. "Are you kidding me?" She turned to Fitz, seething.

"What?" He asked with furrowed brows, clearly confused by her sudden change in mood.

"Her? Of all the women you could've knocked up it had to be her? She looks like a teenager. Is she even over eighteen?" Mellie hissed.

Fitz stared at her as if she had two heads.

"Have you lost your mind? Of course she is. She may be younger than us but she's definitely legal. And what do you mean by of all the women I could've knocked up it had to be her? What's wrong with Olivia?"

"Like I said, she looks like a kid and she's black."

Fitz nodded, now realizing what about Olivia really bothered Mellie.

"Aahh, so that's the real issue you have with her, she's black."

"Nonsense. I do not have a problem with her race but the people we are affiliated with might. I mean your son has fair skin. He can pass as caucasian but if people were to find out who his mother was, they might not want to be associated with us anymore. We've worked so hard to get where we are today and I'm not gonna let some stupid one night stand and your carelessness ruin the life we built together."

Fitz's jaw was set tight. His teeth were clenched so tightly, he thought they would shattered. He was used to Mellie's unfiltered comments and in the past would've just ignored them, but now they affected him on a personal level and furious couldn't even begin to describe how he felt. This time she had gone too far… way too far.

He took a step forward, so he was in her personal space. He spoke in a dangerously low voice that sent a chill down Mellie's spine.

"Mellie, I think you better leave before you see a side of me you've never seen before nor wish to see again."

In this moment, she realized the passive Fitz she used to walk all over was gone and was replaced with this new Fitz who would not put up with her snobbish behavior. Instead of challenging him like she usually would, she silently nodded and walked over to the front door where she hesitated. She looked over her shoulder at him.

"Will you be coming home tonight?"

Fitz expelled a deep breath and combed a hand through his already messy hair.

"I don't know." He answered truthfully.

Originally he planned to stay at his parents' house for the weekend with Olivia and Mason. Now that Mellie was back and Olivia most likely hated him, he wasn't sure if that was a good idea anymore.

Mellie nodded again, having no choice, but to accept his response.

"Okay, well I'll be there if you decide to."

"Okay."

With that she left. She had to find out how to work this new Fitz and also think of ways to get Olivia out of their lives pronto. They were doing just fine before she came into the picture. There was no way in hell Mellie was going to allow Olivia to take her man and the life she made with him from her. She would protect what's hers come hell or high water.

Fitz dwelled in the foyer for a few minutes after Mellie departed. He was scared to face Olivia. He knew he had to go and try to make things right with her, but that was an exchange he would never be prepared for. With a deep sigh, he slowly headed for the kitchen where Olivia was making Mason a bottle. When he walked in, her back was to him. She was well aware of his presence, but chose to ignore him. She tested Mason's bottle against her wrist, making sure it was the right temperature before walking over to his high chair and handing him his bottle.

Fitz cleared his throat to get her attention.

"Liv I-"

She turned to face him with a raised hand, quieting him.

"Save it. I don't know what's going on between you and Mellie and frankly I don't care. All I care about is my son. What happened last night was a mistake and believe it will never ever happen again. From now on I don't want anything to do with you unless it has to do with Mason. There is no reason for us to interact if it doesn't pertain to Mason, got it?"

Fitz swallowed hard. He fucked up and now Olivia hated him and she didn't seem like the type to forgive someone who wronged her easily. He wanted to explain everything to her, but he doubted she'd listen. He wanted to tell her that he was conflicted with his feelings for her. He wanted to tell her that he never meant to hurt her or make her feel like a whore. He wanted to tell her that he wished he could go back in time and prevent them from sleeping together because it ached his heart that she wanted nothing to do with him. He wanted to say all of those things and more, however, his mouth only allowed him to say, "Got it."

Just then, Catherine and Big Jerry entered the kitchen, alleviating some of the tension in the room.

"Good morning." Catherine greeted, happily not aware of uneasiness in the room.

Big Jerry, however, noticed almost immediately that something was going on with Olivia and his son. They seemed off. She seemed upset and Fitz seemed sad. They both looked miserable. He wondered what was the cause of their somber moods.

"Good morning." Olivia and Fitz simultaneously muttered barely above whispers.

Their pathetic greetings caused Catherine to stop dead in her tracks, causing her husband to almost crash into her.

"Alright, what's going on with you two?" She asked.

"Nothing." Fitz said.

His parents knew he was obviously hiding and it wasn't like he tried to be convincing.

"Olivia?" Catherine questioned, ignoring Fitz.

"Nothing. I'm going to go give Mason a bath."

She quickly collected Mason from his high chair and left the room.

Big Jerry looked at his son.

"You want to explain what that was about?"

Fitz shook his head, "No."

He got up and left out of the kitchen as well without another word. He too needed a shower and some time alone to figure out how he was going to get back on Olivia's good side and get things back to normal in his life.
