Made for the runaway bride/groom challenge

Have you ever wondered why Charlie Weasley never got married? Well, we know why…

The Weasley family floed to the wizarding church nearby. As soon as they stepped out of the fireplace, Molly Weasley ushered her second eldest son into the room where the groom and the groomsmen got ready. She helped all the other wizards in there get ready while her husband and eldest son got the other five children into a pew.

The wedding had to be perfect.

However, the soon to be Mrs. Weasley, Alissa Harver, was having second thoughts.

Molly Weasley rushed around the entire church, making sure everything was ready for her son by the time the wedding started. She wanted to make sure everything turned out well for her son and soon to be daughter-in-law.

It wasn't long before everyone was seated and Charlie was standing up there in his neat black suit with his groomsmen.

The music started, but no one came up the isle.

Molly and Arthur Weasley didn't see what had happened from where they were sitting, but apparently once Alissa heard the music she threw the lilies she was holding on the ground and bolted back down the long hallway and out the door.

Charlie had seen it, though. He stood with his mouth open like a fish for a second before blinking furiously and running after his fiancé.

Neither of them came back. The wedding was postponed for now.

When the Weasley family went home, however, they found Charlie sitting on the counter with one of his friends, both with a bottle of firewhiskey in hand.

Charlie spent a couple of days with his parents and siblings before gaining enough courage to go to the apartment him and Alissa shared.

He spent weeks trying to convince Alissa to come back to him. They would fight over everything after that. Nothing seemed to make them happy anymore. It was hard to look at the unhappy couple.

One day, Alissa just kicked him out and he turned up at the leaning Weasley house doorstep.

They never did work it out, and he never loved anyone after that.

The wedding was canceled.

"Fred, George, why do you two always tell that story to everyone!" Charlie yelled.

"Because to completely know all of us-"

"They also need to know you-"

"Plus it's fun to see-"

"You go all red like that."

"You guys suck." Charlie said before stomping out of the room bright red in the face, leaving a group of laughing people in his wake.
