"Man, I'm starving again..."

"Well, this place is called canteen for a reason." Lucy said, chewing on a sandwich. "Go buy another food."

Surprised, Natsu stared at Lucy confusedly.

"The hell?"

Lucy turned her head to her best friend beside her, "Why're you staring at me like that?"

"No, you're weird," he stated simply, earning a whack on his head. Lucy hmph-ed and crossed her hands under her breasts.

"Stupid Natsu and his simple minds."

"I'm not simple-minded!" Natsu protested.

"What?" Lucy gasped. "Did I just say that out loud?"

"Dunno." Natsu became confused as well, wondering if he had said his thought out loud too. 'Nah. Probably just my imagination.'

"What're you imagining anyway?" Lucy asked. To say Natsu was surprised was an understatement. He was beyond confused, surprised, or startled; or all the words you could describe him now.

Natsu tried thinking something.

'Lucy, look at me.'

That being said, his best friend and crush looked at him. Natsu then thought again,

'You can read minds?'

"Natsu.." Lucy's eyes widened, "Your mouth is not moving!"

'Luce, try thinking something.'

So Lucy did. Natsu waited for her voice while watching her unmoving lips. Her lips.. Now that he thought about it, her lips looked so plump, so soft... He suddenly wanted to taste them with his own lips.

'Natsu, you hear me?'

'Y-yeah!' Natsu replied. Soo.. this was telepathy.. huh...

'This is weird, but amazing!' Lucy said, her eyes sparkling. Her beautiful brown eyes. Natsu gulped - why did she look so beautiful today? And the way her lips curled into a smile... ugh, his urge to kiss her surfaced again.

'Shit. Now I wanna kiss her.' Natsu sighed, turning away. 'Stupid crush.'

Silence. Natsu cocked an eyebrow at Lucy who suddenly blushed beet red - her mouth opened.

"What?" Natsu asked. "What's wrong? You look red. You sick?" Natsu leaned into her, reaching her bang-covered forehead. "Nope.. not hot.."

And before the boy could lean back again, Lucy captured his lips in a sweet kiss.

"Mph-!" Natsu exclaimed, pulling away for her only to see her hurt face. "Lucy, what are you doing?" he blushed.

"I-I thought..." Lucy stuttered panickly. "Oh my god I'm so sorry! Maybe I've mistaken that thought as your voice! Or maybe I was just imagining it because if it was true I really want to kiss you too!"

"Wait, I don't understand." Natsu muttered. Thought? When did he - Oh.

"Oh." his cheek turned pink, as he averted his gaze from her. "I forgot that you can read my mind too. And that kiss was just... very surprising."

With that, he cupped her cheek and kissed her. For once, Lucy thanked the stars that their seat was on the corner. Not that she care if someone saw them - she was too in heaven.

Parting away, Natsu pecked her once before muttering against her lips, "sorry, I ain't holdin' back anymore."

Lucy just smirked as she wiggled an eyebrow suggestively, pulling his wrist to find the closest closet.

And that was how they missed the next class, got a detention and Natsu got beaten by Dr. Porlyusica (later be continued by Lucy at her apartement) because it seemed that Natsu took the doctor's newest potion and poured it on him and Lucy's food while the said girl didn't look.
