"What'll you have?" Jasper asked.

"Medium coffee, black."

"Yes, ma'am," she replied, finally looking up from the cash register. She faltered when see saw the customer. The woman was smaller than her and, overall, very cute. Jasper focused on her large eyes as she fixed her glasses which had fallen down the bridge of her nose.

"N-name?" Jasper stuttered.

"Peridot," she stated as she shoved a five dollar bill at the cashier.

Jasper scrambled for the correct change while she turned her head back to Pearl to tell her coworker the order. When she turned back, she saw Peridot now sliding her hand through her short mess of dark hair. Jasper was literally drooling by now, but forced herself to get back to work, handing Peri the change she was owed.

Thankfully, there was no one else in line because as soon as Peri walked over to the other end of the counter, she turned back to her coworkers in a frazzled state.

Amethyst was the first to comment, or rather tease, "Someone's got a crush."

"Shut up, Amy," Jasper barked.

"Aw, come on. I can totally help you out."

Pearl scoffed from her station at the coffee machine, "Like you would be good at that."

"I got you, didn't I?" Amethyst smirked and slapped Pearl's butt roughly causing her to drop the coffee cup she had been filling.

"Amethyst!"

"S-sorry," Amy murmured and grabbed a towel to clean up.

Then, she turned to Jasper as she mopped up the coffee using her foot, "What's her name?"

Jasper blushed slightly and crossed her arms while she nervously looked over to said woman standing at the far counter waiting impatiently.

"Peridot."

Amethyst stared up at the ceiling in thought for a moment before- "I know!"

She grabbed the next cup Pearl had finished filling and capping. Pearl rolled her eyes and decided not bothering to yell. Amethyst then grabbed a marker.

"I already wrote her name," Pearl stated.

"But we got to spice it up for Jasper here," she announced while scribbling on the cup.

She handed Jasper the cup, "Give it to our…'customer'."

Jasper took the cup and looked. It now read, "Peridork." She couldn't help but chuckle; it was pretty funny. Not wasting anymore time, Jasper brought it over to the waiting woman, who was focusing on her phone.

"Here," Jasper said, thrusting out the cup.

Peridot took it while continuing to read off her phone. Jasper frowned in defeat as the woman walked off without even looking at the cup.

"Well, in theory that should have worked," Amethyst sighed coming up behind the larger woman.

But as Jasper continued to watch, Peridot sat down and finally paid attention to the cup. She stared for a long minute before looking up at the woman who had given her the coffee. The employees hadn't expected the intense stare they were given.

Amethyst ducked down and whispered, "I don't think it worked."

Pearl put a hand on her hip, "Well, of course, it didn't. You have the most twisted sense of humor and romance I have ever seen. I hope she doesn't write a bad review because of you two."
