The brunette man blamed himself.
He blamed himself for everything that had happened to his family. He blamed himself for what happened to his people.
After all, he was the one who first declared war on Serbia. His brothers were only backing him up. And yet, England and France placed all of the blame on his younger brother.
Maybe, he could have kept Ludwig from shouldering that massive blame.
Maybe, he could have kept Elizaveta from leaving.
Maybe, he could have kept Gilbert from being dissolved.
Maybe, he could have prevented the deaths of millions of people.
If he had taken the blame, maybe that crazy German man would have never come into power. He would have never taken over his country. He would have never attacked Bella, or Lars, or Matthias, or Lukas, or Francis. Feliks would not have been attacked on both sides.
Deep down, he wants to blame the Allies. He wants to blame America, England, France, Russia, and China. He wants them to be responsible for the insanity of his younger brother, the removal of his older brother, and the separation from his wife. He wants them to be responsible for the millions put in concentration camps.
As he put his hands on his head, he could only blame himself.
Roderich put his hands on his piano, and tried to play. But Beethoven wasn't enough to absolve him of a lifetime of guilty memories.
