Story Starts

~In the kitchen, night~

A hand slowly tipped a bottle sideways until two small pills rolled out. The other hand reached over to grab a glass of water.

Tipping his head back, Yugi placed the pills inside his mouth and quickly washed it down with a few gulps of water. Shuddering in disgust at the remnants of the pills on his tongue, he drank some more and swished the water around his mouth to get rid of the taste. Once he had spit the water out, Yugi turned the sink on to splash some water on his face.

"Little one, are you done?"

"Yes." Yugi called out, taking a nearby cloth to dry his face. "I will head to the bedroom soon."

He nearly fell over when Atem replied, "Oh~? That eager, huh?"

"Atem!" Yugi shouted towards the door, face red.

"Do not fret, my beautiful little one." The seductive voice had Yugi blushing further, which was rather frustrating seeing as the one causing it was not even in the same room. "I will make sure everything's prepared the moment you reached the bed and-Ow, ow, ow, Yami! Not the ear!"

The young male blinked and sweatdropped at the sudden change of tone.

"Aibo, it's getting late. Let's turn in." Yami's voice said over the pained whines of Atem's.

Yugi laughed awkwardly. He could almost imagine Yami pulling Atem up the stairs by the ear. "I'm coming. Give me a few more moments."

"All right, Aibo. Come, you depraved man." Yami's voice got softer, indicating that he had walked further up the stairs. "It would be impossible to leave you alone for even a second."

"I am not depraved. Simply affectionate." A grin could be heard from the voice. "Also, you are being contradicting. You are getting me alone with you, aren't you? Someone's in the mood tonight~"

"You-"

"Just wait until Yugi joins us, I will make sure everything-" A loud thump reached Yugi's reddened ears. "-HURTS!"

"...Not another word from you."

"Urg...By the way...my sentence...ended a bit...kinky...wouldn't you say?" Atem wheezed out. Apparently, Yami had hit him around the abdominal area.

There was a long silence.

"...Pretend I didn't say that, all right, Habibi? Your glare is rather..."

That was the last thing he heard before a door closed, informing Yugi that the other two men had went into the bedroom.

The left behind male only shook his head, smiling in slight exasperation. Yugi hung the cloth on a hook, preparing to switch off the lights and join his lovers. However, just as his fingers touched the switch, a foreboding feeling washed over him. Gasping, Yugi jerked his head around, eyes moving around frantically. But there was nothing. Yet, the loud thumping of his heart refused to die down. Placing a hand on his chest, Yugi warily looked around the kitchen one more time. His eyes stopped short on the window, which showed nothing but dark sky and bushes planted on the ground. Being paranoid, as well as remembering what happened with Haga and Ryuzaki, the young male quickly drew the curtains to block the view. He then quickly switched off the lights, and rushed up the stairs, eager for his lovers' comfort.

If only he had taken one more glance at the window.

For there was someone standing there in plain sight the moment the kitchen lights went off.

"NO!"

A loud shattering sound echoed the room.

"No, no, no, NO! Get out, get out, get out, GeT oUt!"

~Just outside the room~

The girl grasped the hand near her for comfort, hiding her shaking body behind the one offering protection. The hand, which happened to be Hermos', tightened.

"I don't want to see you! I don't want to see her! I don't want to see anybody! Just LEAVE ME BE!" It was accompanied with a loud crash. "J-Just leave me to-"

Hermos furrowed his eyebrows at the sudden silence, heart thumping in trepidation as it stretched on. He glanced down at the figure hidden behind him, before closing his eyes in defeat.

"...They are still in there?" Critias walked towards them from a hallway, stopping just next to the two. "It's been hours."

Hermos huffed, gathering the little girl in his arms. "It's getting from bad to worse...I-" Hermos winced, biting his lips. "I don't think it will be long before-"

The door opening caused all of them to turn towards it. Timaeus blinked at the attention for a second, and closed the doors behind him. He turned to his fellow companions and stared.

"It's time. Critias, do make the necessary preparations."

Hermos gritted his teeth while Critias merely accepted his words with a slow nod.

"...Do you really have to do it?"

The three adults turned to the child in Hermo's arms.

The girl looked at Timaeus with teary eyes. "You are getting innocent people involved! It's wrong!" She sobbed out softly, burying her face into Hermos' chest.

Hermos shushed the little girl, comforting her with nice, yet useless, words into her ears. Critias gave a small sigh, and shot a look at Timaeus.

"..." Timaeus' legs moved towards the crying girl. The girl kept sobbing, until a hand lay on her head. Once he had her attention, Timaeus reassured her, "Please don't cry, Chris. Everything will be fine."

Aqua eyes hardened.

"I will make sure of it."

Seto opened the door and strode in without a single care.

"For someone who is a boss," Yami began, not lifting his head from the documents on his desk. "You sure come by a lot in my office." He peered up slightly. "I'm afraid that I'm not ready to take over."

"Amusing." Seto deadpanned. He threw a few letters towards Yami, who caught all of it with style using just three fingers. "Another...meeting."

Yami blinked, bringing the letters to his eye level. Seto waited as Yami opened the letter with his name on it and read the contents.

"I have no idea that 'party' is such a difficult word to pronounce." Yami teased, causing Seto to twitch an eye. "And it is hosted by..." He trailed off, seeing the word 'Paradius' at the bottom of the letter.

"Partners are optional." Seto said the moment Yami flickered his eyes at him. "They are celebrating the success of their recent product, Orichalcos. Being their main supporter and sponsor, Paradius invited Kaiba Corporation to celebrate with them."

Yami looked over the contents of the letter again. "...Only our company?"

"We were the only ones sponsoring them for this particular product."

"What does it do? The Orichalcos."

"It is said to be some sort of jewelry."

Crimson eyes blinked. "You didn't check the product before you sponsored it?"

A frown appeared. "The CEO refused to share details. Only stating that it would help future gaming technology." Seto huffed. "They said if we are not satisfied when the final product is out, we will be fully compensated."

"Quite a risk they are taking."

"Partners are optional." Seto repeated. "A chance to see their product...and maybe a chance to see other things. If you are not taking anyone with you, both of us, along with the rest of our employees as well as some of their other sponsors, will be the only ones going."

Yami cupped his right cheek and hummed. "Sounds exciting."

He dropped the letter back on the desk.

"Being a spy, that is."

~Somewhere else~

A letter was passed to a manicured hand. The hand opened the letter, smoothing the letter for better clarity.

"They are finally making their moves then." The letter was then held sideways, before being torn apart violently into two pieces.

"About time."

A person sashayed forward with her heels clicking loudly against the cold hard ground. A scoff and the letter were thrown aside carelessly on either side, fluttering to the ground.

"I will make sure to get him back for the humiliation he had caused me." Vivian placed a hand on her hip, smiling in glee.

~One day~

"Oh? Welcome, young lad." Sugoroku greeted when the bell to the shop rang. "Here to buy another card game?"

"Not this time, I'm afraid." Timaeus bowed in greeting. "I was wondering...if I could speak to Yugi for a while."

"Pardon an old man's curiosity," Sugoroku tilted his head. "But, may I ask why?"

Timaeus simply smiled and shrugged a little. "Regarding something he and I are sharing lately."

Most people hearing that would definitely misinterpreted the sentence. It was fortunate that Sugoroku was not most people. If it was one thing the whole Muto family believe in, it would be being loyal to the one they are with.

Still, it was rather disconcerting that Timaeus would say something like that with no regards.

"I see." Sugoroku blinked, deciding not to comment further on the issue. "Well, you just missed him. I had him running an errand for me, it would be quite some time before he gets back."

"May I know where has he gone to?"

Blinking again, Sugoroku replied slowly, "Well, to the central area. We are running low on some games, so I had Yugi to mail a letter to one of our sponsors. The post box is rather far."

Timaeus nodded. There was something weird with what Sugoroku had said, but Timaeus paid it no mind. Instead, he bowed again, and left saying he would visit again.

The elderly watched him leave, the chiming sound echoing in his wake. Placing a hand under his chin, Sugoroku hummed in thought before picking up the phone, punching in a few numbers.

Just outside the shop, Timaeus looked towards the central area and sighed.

"Looks like it's going to be tougher than I thought."

He then strode towards the city, bypassing a few of alleys. So focused on his destination, he walked past an important object that could have saved him the trouble.

A red object that had a symbol 'T' with a bar marked on top of it.

"We won't know how long it would be." Yami answered to his phone. "I will call the moment we leave. Ah. Help me inform Yugi about this, I couldn't reach his phone. Ah. Don't worry about anything, nothing will happen. I have a rather big bad cousin with me."

Seto glared at the opposite of him.

They were currently sitting on a limo, riding their way to the party that Paradius would be hosting. The younger of the two was informing his lover of the details.

"Yes. Yes." Yami totally ignored the glare and continued his conversation. "I will be really careful. Yes, papa, do stop worrying."

Seto raised an eyebrow just as there was a sudden silence over the phone. The boss watched as Yami suddenly gained a slight blush, hissing out a quick 'I will call you later', and hung up just as fast.

Yami was faced with a scrutinizing look when he looked up at his cousin.

"..."

"..."

Seto scowled, "I don't need to know about a single thing."

Yami merely coughed into his fist and looked out of the window.

"I'm surprised you did not invite your partners."

"For precaution." Yami leaned back into his seat. "I rather them be at a place where none of their people could touch them."

Seto pursed his lips. "Would it not be better to keep them within sight?"

"I would be too worried to even pay attention to anything else."

"But Nii-sama is right, Yami." Mokuba piped in, sitting beside his big brother. "At least those Paradius guys won't do anything too obvious if we are in a group, right?"

The co-boss sighed. "It's too late to change anything. Besides, Atem and Aibo have work to deal with."

"Hehhhh." Mokuba folded his hands behind his head. "Too bad. I rather talk to them than those boring old men talking about a little trinket."

"That trinket could be the deciding factor of how the duel disk would come to be." Yami told him.

"Poo." Mokuba pouted. "All of these will happen eventually. It's just unease me that a shady company would be doing it."

The older men remained silent about that matter.

"Speaking of which," Mokuba dug into one of his pockets. "Here, Yami."

Yami looked at the item offered to him. "This is..."

A stun gun rested innocently on Mokuba's palm.

Blinking, Yami glanced towards his nonchalant cousin and back to the younger one.

"For precaution." Mokuba explained. "Both Nii-sama and I had ours in our pockets. Also, keep your phone with you at all times. Should you go missing, we can track the GPS on your phone."

"Rather extreme." Yami commented. However, he took the weapon all the same and hid it within his suit. "Someone's being a mother hen too." He muttered under his breath.

Seto still heard it and glared. "Don't compare me with that perverted lover of yours."

"Hmmm."

"Eh?" The younger brother blinked. "Perverted? What makes you say that, Nii-sama?"

Seto slowly slid his eyes to his brother and glared back at the one in front of him. "This is all your fault."

"I am not the one saying that word."

Mokuba frowned, knowing that he was not going to get an answer. "By the way, what exactly did Atem say earlier?"

"..." Yami slowly averted his face away from his little cousin.

Mokuba was not deterred. "Something to do with what you called him?"

"What I called him...?"

Dark blue eyes sparkled with curiosity with a hint of mischief. "Papa~?" He sang out.

Smoke burst out from the man's head. Even though he could not see, Mokuba knew that the face must be rather red at this point.

"...It was because he was talking like a father would."

"But obviously he said something regarding that." Mokuba grinned. "Please, I'm old enough to know what a kink and fetish is. Who cares about what fetishes you guys have. But I'm just curious though. If Atem is papa, and you are obviously mama, what would Yugi be? Your love child? Are you guys having a incest fetish?"

"Mokuba."

"Yes, Nii-sama?"

"Stop talking."

"Ehhh? But I want to know-"

"I would like to have a co-boss that would be fully functional during this...meeting. And not a man melting into a puddle due to embarrassment."

"Welcome, Chairman Kaiba and Mr. Inishie." A man with light-blue hair spread his arms in greeting. "I hope you will enjoy the celebration."

"Dartz." Seto nodded while Yami bowed. "Congratulations on your success."

"It could not have happened without your help." Dartz smiled. "It must have been hard for you to even sponsor something that you know nothing of."

"Life is all about risks." Seto responded. "We won't get anywhere without taking some."

"Indeed." The CEO of Paradius smiled approvingly. "And I am sure you will not be disappointed." He then turned to Yami. "Thank you for approving the sending of duel disk as well."

Yami merely nodded and tensed up when Dartz asked a rather curious question.

"Your partners are not with you?"

Both Seto and Yami were careful not to reveal any emotions of their face.

"No." Yami gave a small smile. "It was regretful that they are busy with work."

"I see, I see." Dartz nodded in understanding. "Such a pity."

Alarm bells were ringing within.

"I wished to have met them personally," Dartz laughed. "There was quite a fuss when they showed up a year ago. Well, anyways, do enjoy yourselves here. We will present our product once everyone has eaten their fill!"

The boss and co-boss bowed as Dartz left to entertain the other guests.

"Kaiba..."

Seto glanced at the man beside him.

"What is this uneasy feeling within me? Atem and Aibo are not here, I should be glad, and yet..."

Seto looked at his younger cousin and looked back at the retreating figure of Dartz.

He let out a small huff.

"Although I despise saying this, but let's hope that you are just thinking too much."

"The perks of looking like a little kid." Mokuba muttered under his breath, giving another fake smile to some old man as he walked on by.

He was given instructions to sniff out as much information as he could during the party while remaining discreet. Both his brother and cousin were worried that he would get caught, however...

"Would you like a drink, little guy?" One lady bent down to his level, offering a glass of orange juice.

A vein popped out.

Mokuba smiled angelically, "Thank you so much, pretty lady."

The lady gushed out, "He called me pretty!"

Mokuba kept his smile on until the lady bid him farewell while saying how cute he was. The moment the attention was off, the smile dropped like a bomb. Mokuba then placed the drink on a table and continued with his mission, expression blank the whole time.

"Deal with it. Deal with it. Nii-sama and Yami owns me so much for this." The vein grew bigger as he continued to whisper angrily to himself.

"For lord's sake...! I'm just one year away from attending the Coming of Age ceremony!"

The party went as well as it could be, with the bosses of KC keeping their eyes opened and Mokuba fishing for information. Everything was normal and all, and yet the three males could not ignore the feeling that something was...off.

"This is nerve-wrecking." Yami muttered, holding a glass of champagne in his hand. "Mokuba has not found anything, has he?"

Seto glanced to where his brother was. As if knowing, Mokuba looked back to his older brother and shifted his head to the left, before shifting to the right a few moments later to give the impression that he was looking for someone. Seto breathed out in slight annoyance. "None."

The cousin breathed out similarly, bringing the glass to his lips and tilted it. He held it there for a while and brought it back down without even taking a sip. "I could not help but notice that one of them is missing."

Seto narrowed his eyes at that.

"The one named Timaeus is not here."

Blue eyes immediately swiveled around the room, trying to locate the missing person. Hermos was talking to one of the guest while Critias could be seen standing near to Dartz. Yami was right. The third member of the group was nowhere to be seen.

"...It worries me." Yami admitted, gently clinking his glass with Seto's. The both of them lifted their drinks to their lips, held it there and brought it down without drinking. "I have the urge to call."

"Don't." Seto warned. "We are in their territory now. We don't know if they had done anything to the signals here."

"Frustration..." Yami happened to glance at Hermos when he said that. Imagine his surprise when Hermos was already looking at him. Hermos blinked and gave a grimace and turning his head away.

What was that about?

The uneasy feeling only grew with that little scene.

Mokuba came back to them, looking rather irritated.

"You look irritated." Yami pointed out the obvious.

A glare formed as a response. "I will get you back for this. But anyways, I could not find anything." The teen suddenly looked exasperated, "Those guests kept talking about the weather! It really bore me to tears."

That, however, caught the attention of the bosses.

"Not even mentioning the highlight of this party?" Yami asked. He explained further at the confused look. "The product?"

Mokuba blinked and nodded, not seeing anything strange about that. "Every single interaction I had, were just talks about how great today would be. But not one of them mentioned anything about the product itself."

Seto and Yami looked at each other.

Something weird was definitely happening here. Normally when people gathered at a celebration, they would at least mention something about the reasoning of the celebration. But if what Mokuba said was true, and not even one guest mentioned anything about the product, which was the reason of this party...

Yami was no longer able to ignore the sinking feeling. "Perhaps we should leave. Kaiba?"

"We-" He was interrupted when the lights suddenly went out and spotlights were shining on a stage.

"Welcome to each and every one of you." Dartz walked up the stage. All the audiences clapped in appreciation. "Today is a wonderful day for Paradius! After all the hard work and long hours, we have finally finished our desired dream." A couple of people started rolling a trolley with a white cloth over it up the stage. "I would to first thank our employees for putting their heart and soul-"

Dartz started chuckling a little for some reason.

Seto narrowed his eyes. Yami thinned his lips. Mokuba shifted his weight in discomfort.

"-Into this particular project. Let us give an applause for them." Dartz clapped, prompting the rest of the people to do the same. Once it died down, he continued, "I also would like to thank Kaiba Corporation for sponsoring this project. It would not have been possible without them." He clapped again as the spotlight shines on Seto, who nodded. When the clappings died down again, Dartz gestured to the trolley. "Now, allow me to present the product in question."

Something was vibrating in Yami's pocket all of a sudden. Blinking, Yami pulled out his phone and looked at the screen. It was Atem calling.

On the other side of the room, Critias was doing the same action, pressing on his phone and putting it to his ear.

Dartz took a hold of the white cloth.

Confused, Yami turned around and answered the phone. Atem was specially told not to call while they were at the party.

Critias jerked his head at whatever was said from his phone and quickly made his way to Hermos.

Dartz was smiling. No, he was grinning in total glee.

Seto and Mokuba widened their eyes when Yami turned to face them, with absolute terror in his eyes.

Hermos was mouthing a 'What!' at Critias, and took the phone, engaging a conversation with the person on Critias's phone.

"Behold," Dartz pulled down the cloth, revealing a shining greenish blue gem held standing by a small holding stand. "The Orichalcos!"

The gem glowed, brightening the room with its glow. The audience, strangely, did not react to that, merely clapping.

"What's wrong, Yami?" Mokuba asked in worry, not used to seeing such a look from his cousin.

Yami looked to the doors and was in a panic when he saw guards standing there, already looking at him as though expecting him to look at the door. "...!"

Seto snatched the phone from Yami and held it to his ears, barely hearing Atem screaming erratically through the phone.

"Get out of there now! It's a trap!"

"On a side note, this beautiful gem held a mystical power," Dartz talked on. "Mainly its powers to hypnotize people."

"What are you going on about, Atem?" Seto growled, trying not to let the panic rise within him.

"It's a diversion to get all of you in one place! They already sent someone!" The next words caused his heart to drop.

"Yugi has gone missing!"

"So, everyone." Dartz looked towards the Kaiba family, whom were spotlighted. "Do make sure that our dear guests would not leave the room without permission now, would you?"

As one, the entire people in the room turned around, facing Seto, Yami and Mokuba. "Understood."

The Kaiba brothers tensed up, getting ready to fight their way out. Yami took his phone back and put it to his ear, facing the danger that was in front of them.

"It's too late." Yami followed the Kaiba brothers and took on a defensive stance. "They have trapped us."

"Zombie apocalypse. Never thought I would encounter such things."

An eye twitched.

"Should I be annoyed that you are taking the situation too lightly?" Atem asked blankly.

"Perhaps." Panic shot through Atem when he heard someone, Mokuba most likely, shouted out 'Yami, behind you!'. "A moment please."

"Yami?!"

There was a soft thud, before Yami's voice came back to the phone.

"...Hitting people hurts."

"Don't scare me like that, you idiot!" Atem huffed. "Would the three of you be all right? I will call the police."

"Don't bother," There was another thud. "We probably have to fight them off as well. The Orichalcos have hypnosis effect it seems. Don't worry about us. More importantly, Atem," Yami's voice suddenly have a hint of fear in them. "Find Yugi. Please, make sure he's safe."

"I will." Atem promised heatedly. "Take care of yourselves."

"You as well."

Atem hung up, not wanting to distract Yami further.

"How was it?"

Atem turned around to face Sugoroku. "No luck. They are in trouble as well. But I'm sure they will be all right. We should focus on finding Yugi."

"Oh dear..." Sugoroku clasped his hands together.

"We don't even know where to start...!" Atem ruffled his hair in frustration.

"That young lad...Timaeus, was it? He came looking for Yugi." Sugoroku provided a piece of information

"You think that-"

"...I don't know."

Both of them sighed in aggravation. Atem brought his hand up, holding a phone with a little brown monster keychain. It was Yugi's, found near an alleyway near their house, and the only evidence that told them Yugi was missing.

"Please be safe, Yugi."

~Somewhere else~

A man with wild-pointed white hair looked up at a signboard. After a few moments of staring, he scoffed and walked off, flapping his black trench coat dramatically behind him.

Amethyst eyes opened weakly. Blinking a few times to clear his vision, Yugi sat up from his position on the floor.

At least, he tried to.

Both his hands and legs were bounded together by ropes. Yugi tested his freedom by wriggling his hands, only to find that it was way too tight for even the slightest movement.

Letting out a huff, Yugi laid back down with only one thought going through his mind.

Atem and Yami are not going to be happy with this.

Footsteps nearing interrupted his thought.

"You are awake."

Turning his head, Yugi saw a man with blond hair standing near him. Rearing back slightly, Yugi swallowed discreetly. The man was bulky. He was wearing a full-body coat with padded shoulders and belted sleeves, along with fingerless gloves with studded knuckles. One look, and Yugi knew he would be of no match should he ended up with a fight with the man.

Yugi remained silent, eyeing warily.

The man blinked and did something that Yugi did not expect him, a bulky, intimidating man, to do.

He kneeled down in front of Yugi and proceeded to peer into his eyes, in a very close proximity.

Unable to do anything, Yugi looked back, sweating slightly.

This continued for a few moments, before Yugi decided to cut through this rather awkward staring contest.

"Um..."

The single word snapped the man out of it. He hummed and stood back up, with Yugi watching his every move. He blinked at Yugi and tilted his head, as if confused with his presence here.

If it were in other situation, Yugi was sure he would have laughed at the comical moment. However, the words that came out from the man was anything but funny.

"Your eyes would make a good replacement indeed."

THUD

A man fell forward after Seto punched him right in the face. Taking a look around, he spotted Mokuba giving a roundhouse kick at one of the man trying to grab him. It was fortunate for them that they were no strangers in the arts of fighting. Being successful in life meant that you would often be a target, which was why the Kaiba family adopted martial arts to their lifestyle in order to protect themselves. Mokuba was proficient in Taekwondo, he, himself, was a black belt in Karate. As for Yami...

The boss glanced at his cousin, and was not surprised to see bodies lying around and near the co-boss. Yami was well versed in the arts of Taido, with a hint of Jujutsu in it. Due to him not having a large structure, Yami added his own fighting style into the arts he had learned.

Seto reached forward to grab Mokuba away just as Yami suddenly used one of his opponents' charging force against him and tripped him towards the one man who was heading for Mokuba.

"A warning would be nice." Mokuba grumbled, wiping his forehead.

"Kaiba was watching." Yami offered in lieu of apology.

Seto humphed. Facing the front, he saw the people that they had knocked down were standing back up. "This is endless. We need to get away from here."

"How, Nii-sama? The exits are all blocked." Mokuba ducked and quickly kicked another person away from him.

Seto narrowed his eyes, searching for a way out while striking another person with his elbow. Dartz had long left the place, leaving the stage empty. Hypnotized guards blocked off the entrance, where they came in at, as well as other emergency exits. Just as he was about to resume fighting, a pair of cold blue, but not hypnotized, eyes, caught his near the stage area.

"Not all of it." Without another word, Seto rushed towards the direction.

"Nii-sama?!" Mokuba pushed away another person, quickly following his brother.

"Ah." Yami made to follow, but was thwarted as a lady with expensive jewelry blocked his path. The commotion must have caused the lady to smear her makeup, because she looked like a real zombie in Yami's eyes. "..."

"Come on, Yami! Nii-sama found a secret entranceway!" Mokuba yelled across the room, trying the clear the area for Yami.

The lady raised her hands, making a move to grab him.

"My mother taught me not to lay a hand on females...but I suppose she will make an exception to this."

Grabbing those hands, Yami stood his ground and pulled, the moment she was beside him, he pushed her hard towards a group of people, knocking them down like bowling pins.

Yami sighed and paused for a while. "...A word of advice, Madam. Try wearing less makeup."

He then ran off towards the secret entrance.

"Madam! Madam!" A butler rushed towards a lady sitting near a balcony.

"What is it, Syaoran?" Mei Fong furrowed her eyebrows. "It is unusual to see you flustered."

The butler, upon reaching, placed his hands on his knees to rest before quickly giving a piece of paper to her. "My deepest apologies, Madam. But you told us to watch over your daughter and this morning-"

Mei Fong read the contents. "No..." The paper crumpled under her tightening hands. "Why would she do this...?"

"W-What should we do, Madam?" Syaoran bit his lip. "Young Miss was gone this morning and-"

"Call the police."

"B-But, Madam! It could a misunderstan-"

"This is no misunderstanding." Mei Fong glared at the butler. "Call. The. Police."

"...Yes, Madam."

"...Daughter or not, when you commit a crime, you will face the consequences."

She slammed the piece of paper down on a table and quickly walked off, with the butler scrambling to follow her.

The paper had a picture of Yugi's face on it, with a big red X mark on the picture.

"It feels like we are in an anime."

"Anime?" Yami glanced at the younger Kaiba.

Mokuba nodded with a grin. "See," He raised a finger. "There's the big bad guy pretending to be a good person, a gem that could control people, and now we are walking in a secret hallway to escape. It's just like in an anime!"

The three of them were indeed walking along a secret hallway, with Seto leading the party.

"And next we probably have to fight the henchmen to get to the big boss and rescue Yugi-"

Yami's hand gripped tightly on his phone.

"And the bad guys will all be arrested! Happy ending, happy ending!" Mokuba ended with a clap.

"...If only things could all be so simple."

The Kaibas tensed up, all adopting fighting stances.

Hermos stepped out from the shadows, wariness visible on his face.

They scrutinized each other for a while before Hermos gave a frustrated sigh and quickly pointed behind him. "Come on, hurry. We need to get out of here now!"

"And how do we know this is not a trap?" Seto narrowed his eyes. "We don't-"

"WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!" Hermos roared. "WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO HIM RIGHT NOW?! YOU-"

"Hermos."

Critias placed his hand on Hermos' shoulder. "You are letting your emotions clouding over you."

Hermos shrugged away the hand and turned to the newest addition with a glare. "Don't give me the bullshit! I told you I was against this from the start and I know you and Timaeus have been planning something behind my back! Right?!"

"We did not tell you because you would overreact."

"A fat lot of good it did now!" Hermos growled.

"Definitely like anime." Mokuba muttered.

Critias said nothing to Hermos' accusations and turned to the Kaibas. "Follow us, we will explain things on the way."

"So let me get this straight," Atem spoke to his phone while looking left and right. "The three of them were actually trying to help?"

"Apparently so." Yami told him. "Iona, Dartz's wife, had contacted some sort of incurable disease. Dartz spent most of his time to find a cure, to no avail. As time goes on, depression sets in and drove him insane, I believe. And he ended up resorting to illegal methods to try and cure his wife. Hence, the missing people and shady activities, all of which were for experimentation and research."

"What has those three got to do with this? And why kidnap Yugi?" Atem stopped at a crossing, waiting for the green man to flash.

"Those three are bodyguards to a girl called Chris, Dartz's daughter. When Dartz went insane, he went insane." Yami paused for a while. "He wanted to use his daughter as part of the experimentation."

"What?!"

"Yes...In order to protect her, they had to listen to whatever Dartz told them to do...And believe it or not, their target was originally not Yugi."

"Who were they targeting?"

"It was me."

"WHAT?!" Atem ignored the staring of the people around him. "You better explain everything!"

"I will let Critias take over."

"Our target has always been Inishie Yami." Critias said, leading everyone. "Lady Iona's disease was unknown and multiple surgery had been done, all of which failed. Her eyes just continued to rot no matter how many eye transplants were done. Tons of colored eyes were used in the surgeries; Blue, brown, grey, yellow, black. It was until recently that green eyes, which are rather rare, were used. Her eyes still deteriorates, but it was noted that it held on longer than the previous eyes did."

"And so Dartz started searching for rare colored-eyes." Yami concluded, hand holding the phone up so Atem could hear the conversation as well.

Critias nodded, "During one of the meetings Paradius had involving KC, Dartz immediately took note of your eye color." He glanced back at Yami. "Red was already unusual, and yours are a bright crimson. When he told us that the next target was you, all three of us were relief."

"What?" Atem's disgruntled voice could be heard through the speaker.

"Calm down, stupid." Hermos rolled his eyes. "Obviously it changed...for the worst."

"You are a part of the Kaiba family. If you were to suddenly disappear, it would cause a huge uproar." Critias continued. "We used that to our advantage, making up every excuses we could think of to prolong the inevitable."

"Until the meeting." Seto said.

"Yes." Critias sighed. "That day you brought your partners along with you."

The door opened, causing every single guest to turn towards it. Three men stood at the entrance with pride and radiating confidence. The man in the middle, Yami, strode forward, prompting his partners to do the same.

As everyone observe the younger Kaiba brother welcoming the new guests, Hermos snorted quietly.

"Proud to present his lovers."

"Indeed." Timaeus agreed, smiling slightly.

Critias merely looked on with little interest.

"...His eyes."

The three of them tensed up at the two words. They turned to the side, where Dartz was staring intently at something.

"...Sir?" Timaeus asked hesitantly.

"The one holding his arm." Dartz spoke as though in a trance. "Tell me, is it simply a trick of the light or a rather bright...what is the word to describe such color?"

While Dartz contemplated on the color, the three of them turned to see what he was referring to.

Timaeus breathe in deeply while Critias made a soft voice at the back of his throat.

Hermos kept mouthing the word 'No'.

"Ah, yes." Dartz's eyes gleamed. "Amethyst."

"Such an unheard and rare color."

"Upon research, it was discovered that your partner, Yugi, did not suffer any kinds of diseases-"

Yami blinked while a soft sound was heard from the phone.

"-Such as the Alexandria's Genesis or Albinism. Which made his eyes even more valuable than most as it was natural. So Dartz changed his mind and targeted him right away. We had no choice, but to do as he said. So we started to look for people that could separate you three."

"The newspaper incident!" Mokuba hit his palm with his fist in realization.

"...I don't care if they are helping. Yami, you better make sure the police don't get them before I do."

"Timaeus went on with his own plan." Critias said before Hermos, who was opening his mouth, could. "Unfortunately, we have no idea what he was planning."

"Wait." Hermos turned to his comrade. "I thought you two were planning together?"

"He told me he had something planned, but made no mention of what it was." Critias looked down in thought. "...Something about taking someone away."

"...So he kidnapped Yugi." Yami had his bangs covering his eyes.

Critias was able to say something when-

"Wait...is that-?! Hang on!"

Yami quickly brought the phone closer. "Atem? What's wrong?"

"Wa-Oi! Stop!" Atem rushed forward trying to catch up to someone he saw. "Excuse me, sorry, really sorry!" He quickly brushed past the crowded street and head straight up to the person whom had black-teal color in their hair.

Without thinking, he roughly put his hand on their shoulder and jerked them towards him.

A pair of bewildered aqua eyes greeted him, before lighting up in recognition.

"Found you!" Atem snarled.

~Somewhere in an alley~

Timaeus grunted as he was slammed into a wall.

"Where is he?!" Atem demanded, fisting Timaeus' clothes. "If you even land a scratch on him-"

"Atem? Atem! What's going on? Answer me!"

The two continued to look at each other, before Timaeus sighed. He glanced at the phone. "I take it you found out about everything?"

"Timaeus? Is that you?" Hermos' voice came through. "Where have you been, you idiot?!"

The man merely gave a sigh in response, but was quickly brought back to the danger right in front of him.

"Where. Is. Yugi." Atem's pupils started turning into slit.

Fascinated at the change, Timaeus said nothing, watching as the pupils narrowed in further, giving Atem almost cat-like eyes.

"You-"

"Atem, calm down. Getting agitated won't get us anywhere."

It seemed like the voice of Yami's got through as those pupils turned back to their original size. Atem clicked his tongue and shoved Timaeus away violently.

The attacked man rubbed his chest area to sooth it. He glanced at the glaring man.

"...We were really messing with the wrong people, weren't we?"

"Timaeus." Yami called out. "Please, tell us where you have taken Yugi to."

"Right, let's just end this already. I'm tired of hearing Chris crying every single time." Hermos' wary voice came.

There was a long silence before Timaeus spoke, "...I can't."

"..."

Atem narrowed his eyes. "I beg your pardon?"

"I can't tell you where he is." Timaeus slowly straightened himself.

He gave such an anguished look that had Atem widening his eyes in surprise.

"Because someone else got to him before I could."

Guarded eyes watched as a pair of high-heels clicked left and right in front of him.

With a sharp huff, the person wearing the high-heels spun around and turned to face Yugi.

"They are late. Aren't they supposed to take over by now?" Vivian crossed her arms, one finger tapping impatiently on the forearm.

The man earlier blinked, "Perhaps they were not involved in this?"

"What?" Vivian frowned. "Your employer doesn't even care to inform everyone about the plan? Exactly what-you know what? That is none of my business. I have done my part, and how exactly am I being compensated for this? I was promised to have some rewards."

"...I was not informed about any of this."

"What did you say?" Vivian had a really heavy scowl. "Listen to me, Raphael." She moved forward and started poking a finger on the man's chest. "I went through a lot just so he-" She gestured towards Yugi. "-Was brought here. I better receive compensation for my work!"

Raphael stood there for a while in thought. "I shall ask Master Dartz."

Vivian and Yugi watched as he left to do just that.

The lady huffed and turned around, only to meet with wary eyes. Raising her chin, she ignored the look and walk around making sure everything was in place and that escape was not possible.

"Why?"

She paused and rolled her eyes. "Are you seriously asking that?" She placed her hands on her hips and turned to face her prisoner. "Did you perhaps forgotten about what occurred between you and I?"

"..." Yugi shifted his position. "I just don't think that would be enough catalyst to choose such a method. You did hear about what happened to kidnappings that involved the Kaiba family, didn't you?"

Vivian's eyes narrowed. "...You are not in any position to threaten me." She sauntered forward and leaned over him. "And I could careless about other things, so long as I get what I want."

Yugi watched as she gave a haughty smirk and walked away again, following her movements with careful eyes.

"...And what is it that you want?"

Vivian glanced at him and blinked. Slowly, a smile appeared on her face. She folded her arms and spoke in a haughty tone.

"How about we play a game?"

It was Yugi's turn to blink. "A game?"

"It is one that I won't lose." Vivian grinned. "And this time, I will say it in absolute confidence."

A small frown appeared on the young male.

"Let's see." Vivian placed a finger on her chin. "...If you win, I will let you go."

Yugi reacted to that in surprise.

"In fact, I will even help you escape from here, safe and sound."

"And if I lost?"

"You will be subjected to whatever they have in mind then." She shrugged uncaringly.

The 'King Of Games' thought about the proposal. "...Sounds too good to be true."

"Why? Afraid of losing?" Vivian mocked. "You have nothing to lose anyway." Her face darkened a little. "...And neither do I."

Amethyst eyes looked towards her.

The lady placed her hands on her hips. "So?"

"...All right then. What is the game?"

"Good." Vivian took a chair nearby and placed it in front of her captive. She sat down and placed a leg over her another leg, not caring if the action caused her cheongsam to shift upwards, revealing her thigh. "The game is simple."

Yugi straightened himself as much as he could.

"If you can guess exactly what I want. You win."

The bells chimed loudly as the door swung open.

"I'm very sorry. The shop is currently closed. I apolo...oh." Sugoroku paused, blinking at the person who just came in.

"Yo." Razor sharp teeth could be seen peeking out from the mouth. "It's been a while, old man."

Sugoroku hummed as the person strolled in, their black trench cloak fluttering behind them. "I would have thought that you would never return."

The elderly stared straight at the person.

"Kuroto Bakura."

Dark brown eyes gleamed mischievously.

"Things changed." Bakura shrugged uncaringly. "So," He leaned on the counter with an arm on it.

"Where's the pharaoh? I have a score to settle with him."

~To Be Continued~

We finally found out what was going with Paradius! Or do we? What's going to happen next?

Things to note:

The object that Timaeus missed – Post boxes in Japan are red and had a symbol 'T' with a bar on top of it

Coming of age ceremonies(成人式Seijin-shiki) – A celebration held on Coming of Age Day(A public holiday in Japan) to celebrate people who have reached age of maturity (20 years old) over the past year for reaching adulthood. Mokuba was mad that people were treating him as though he was 12, not 19

What Seto, Yami and Mokuba were doing during the party – They are there to sniff out information and they can't be too obvious. All three of them were too cautious to drink or eat anything there for fear of getting drugged and yet they must looked like they are participating in the party, otherwise it would be an insult

Taekwondo – A Korean martial art. Consists of head-height kicks, jumping, spinning kicks and fast kicking techniques

Karate – Developed from the influence of Chinese martial arts(Kung fu). It's a striking art using punches, kicks, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open hand techniques like palm-heel strikes

Taido – A Japanese martial art. Meaning 'way of the body'. Similar to Karate but more flexible with spinning and twisting movements, along with acrobatic movements like backflips

Jujutsu - A Japanese martial art. A close combat for defeating armed opponent with no weapon

Alexandria's Genesis – A mutation that turns people into 'Perfect human beings' who exhibit purple eyes six months after birth. It's a myth (Sort of) that has history dated back in Ancient Egypt (This is really a rare find while I was writing this story, might use it in further stories *Smile*)

Bakura's name – Kuroto, a combination of the word 'Dark' (Kuro) and the word 'Steal' (To) in Japanese

Omake:

~The night before Yami left for the meeting~

Someone was humming the 007 theme song as they walked down the stairs. They shifted to one side of the wall quickly upon reaching the final step, avoiding the doorway of the kitchen.

Peeking in the doorway, they saw one person standing with their back towards them while cooking. Their eyes then zoomed in towards the table, where a bowl of candies sat innocently at the center.

Humming the song softly, they sneaked slowly to the table, with their hands forming into a gun shape. Upon reaching, they slowly reached the bowl with one hand, humming the climax of the song as their hand were inches away from the bowl.

Another hand came out of nowhere and-

SLAP

"Ow!" Atem quickly stood up and nursed his hand.

"It would work better if you weren't humming the song all the way." Yami grabbed the bowl and placed it in the fridge. "You should know better, eating sweets before dinner. And Aibo, you shouldn't humor such antics." He sat down, frowning slightly at the giggling man.

"I think it's cute." Yugi laughed, switching off the fire and placing the food on the table.

"Yes, Mama." Atem pouted, slumping on his chair. "At least Yugi played along."

"Eat." Yami pointed his chopstick at Atem's food.

Yugi giggled at the motherly way Yami was treating Atem.

"Mama is bullying me!" Atem whined at Yugi. "Make it better?"

Yami cut in before Yugi could even say anything. "Mama is going to punish you if you don't eat this instant."

Atem blinked and a big smile started showing up. "…Are we finally going to the kinky zone?"

SLAP

For the rest of the night, the three of them ate peacefully...with their cheeks all red.

Each with different reason.

BWahahahahahaha! This omake just have to come out with the spy comment from Yami. Each with different reason? Well, Yami's red for anger, Yugi's red for blushing, and Atem…well, the SLAP should give some hint *Laughs*
