Dreams Come True

Sequel to Father: After a year of living the perfect dream Evan's life gets turned upside down by Lyla Brown nee Novacek.

...

Juilliard had seen a lot of amazing young artists, but many would argue that a musician like August Rush AKA Evan Connelly only came along every generation. His music was always original and his compositions a mixture of bewildering and outstanding. Many knew that the young boy was mysterious and touched the hearts of many.

"I added the violins here to make it flow over to the next section," he explained to one of his teachers.

The middle aged woman acted almost giddy at his statement, "And the sections for harps?"

"It felt right," Evan shrugged.

He left a copy with the woman as the bell rang signalling the end of the school day. He wandered down the hall to where one of his tutors for primary school education was exiting her class. Stacy smiled as she spotted him and Evan began telling her about his previous class. They walked out to the car park and Louis waved to them from his car.

"Come on, let's get to your place so I can bully your Dad into buying pizza," Stacy smirked as she jogged over to the car and hopped into the passenger side.

Evan laughed and joined them in the car.

"So Stacy I hope you don't mind that we are having pizza again," Louis said apologetically.

Evan rolled his eyes, "There is a reason she insists on tutoring me on pizza Tuesday."

Stacy rolled her eyes, "I have no idea what you mean. Besides shouldn't you be thinking about science and math?"

Evan poked his tongue out at her and closed his eyes in order to pretend that everything was fine. He knew for a fact that it wasn't fine. She was expecting to meet him in two days. Lyla, his mother, wanted to meet him. Mr. Jefferies had delayed her for as long as he could, but after six months he had run out of legal road blocks. It had given Evan extra time to settle into life with Louis.

After a year of living with his father Evan's life changed to suit his new lifestyle. Juilliard occupied most of his time and he loved every second of the study. Louis had shopped around for tutors to keep Evan up to date on his regular schooling and had eventually chosen Stacy for her own status as a student at Juilliard. Since Hope had left the city Louis had been determined to find August friends, which he achieved with help from Reverend James and Arthur who was in a boys home that according to Mr. Jefferies was one of the best.

It was a very different lifestyle than the one Evan had previously, but he loved every minute of it. After all he was living his dreams come true.
