He locked eyes with the legendary.

The fire burned brightly in his opponent's eyes, as if taunting him to make his next move. Olimar accepted his silent invitation and readied his pikmin for battle. White, Blue and Purple. Cloud, Bob, and Precious. His "dream team," as he called it.

Unfortunately, the Pokémon took advantage of the eye contact and used Disable, effectively stunning Olimar. He sat on the ground, dizzied and confused. Mewtwo charged up his side smash attack to knock the captain off the stage in his vulnerable state. It made contact and Olimar was sent flying off the side of the stage.

However, the battle had just begun. Olimar summoned his winged pikmin and successfully recovered to the edge. He threw Cloud, the white pikmin, at Mewtwo and landed a direct hit that racked up quite a bit of damage. But it only went downhill from there.

Mewtwo had landed many of his smash attacks, repeatedly smacking the captain into the air and ridding him of his pikmin. In a blink of an eye, Olimar had over 100% damage and only one stock left. In an attempt to cause some damage of his own while staying out of range, he threw the blue pikmin, Bob. The psychic saw it coming though and performed a perfect spot dodge, effectively sending the pikmin flying past.

NOW Olimar was worried. He hadn't been able to pluck any more pikmin due to his prolonged time in the air, courtesy of his slow reflexes. He had one chance left.

He crossed his fingers and threw out Precious, his prized purple pikmin.

It would have been a direct hit – had it not been for the Pokémon's Confusion.

Sweet old Precious was sent barreling back even harder at its sender, landing the final blow on the captain that cost him the match.

Olimar learned an important lesson that day: to steer clear of smashers with reflectors.

Based on true events. Seriously.

Cloud = White because he makes clouds when he attacks,
Bob = Blue because he's the partner to Steve the Red pikmin (coughChuggaaConroycough),
Precious = Purple because of her, y'know...size and all...we'll just say she's a valuable pikmin.
