Nico paced back and forth in front of his and his sister's shared bedroom's door, his hands folded behind his head. His mother watched him pace in worried silence, her eyes flickering between him and the door. She wanted to tell Nico that there was nothing to worry about, that his sisters would be okay, but she couldn't bring herself to it. She has never seen this happen before and it worried her. She found herself biting on the tip of her thumb, the indent pure white from her teeth. She cleared her throat, grabbing Nico's attention. She held out her arm to him slightly, silently beckoning him to her. Her arm wrapped around him tightly when he hurried into her side, hugging her tightly. With her free hand, she patted his head. It was an instinct that she formed ever since the twins were born, whenever they were scared or if they cried. The calming strokes seemed to be more for her than her son, at the moment. She was terrified. She felt Nico let go of her when she heard the creak of a door opening. She looked up to meet her husband's eyes. She searched them to find an answer, but they told her nothing. "How is she?"

"Well, I got the bleeding to stop," he answered. He placed the first aid kit down on the flower table that was outside the twins door. He held his arm up to stop Nico, who tried to bolt past him and get into the room. "Whoa, there bud!" He ruffled Nico's hair. "I know you want to see your sister but she needs rest. Why don't you go and make yourself some breakfast? And maybe make your sister something too." Nico made a curt nod before jogging down the hallway and darting around the corner, leaving his parents sight as he made his way to the kitchen. Riku's gaze went over to Katie, his hand gently landing on her arm. He smiled warmly at her. "Don't worry. Aeris will be okay. From the looks of it, the nosebleed was caused by stress. I think it was a nightmare."

"Stress?" Katie repeated. She sighed heavily. "That isn't exactly comforting…" She pointed at his pocket. He hummed curiously before pulling out his phone that was in his pocket. "You should head to Radiant Garden. I'll watch the kids."

Riku shook his head, sending a small smile. "No, I think I'll stay here. I can get Sora to help Leon instead. You and Aeris need me here—" he stopped himself, sniffing the air. He looked down the hall, his eyes widening to see a thick cloud of smoke come down the hall. "And I need to keep our son from burning down the house!"

Aeris woke up with a gasp, her head bonking onto something as she jolted awake. She groaned in pain as she rubbed her forehead. She propped herself onto her elbows as she looked around the room. She sighed in relief to see that she was still in her room in Destiney Islands. Her eyes drifted next to her bed and stopped when she saw her brother. She tilt her head curiously when she saw him trying to not drop a plate in his hands. Is that what she hit her head on? Before Aeris could ask, Nico chirped, "Sorry, Aeris! I didn't mean to startle you!" He finally gained control of himself and he chuckled lightly, making his way back to Aeris' bedside. He placed the plate down on her bedside. On the plate were eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. "I made you breakfast!" Nico happily told his sister. He then rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I-I mean, Dad helped me make this one. I wanted to make you something nice while you rested up but I kinda forgot to grease the pan for the eggs the first time around and then it caught on fire then so did the bacon so the entire kitchen was filled with smoke and Dad came rushing in to put the fire out, bumping into me and making me drop the biscuit batter on the cat and—"

Aeris quickly gripped onto her brother's shoulders, making his rambling stop. "Nico. I need to see Mom. Right. Now."

Nico cocked his head to the side, a confused look dawning on his face. "Huh? But she's getting ready to leave and help Uncle Sora with his boat—"

Aeris eyes widened at the mention Uncle Sora's boat. That was the last time she saw her mother normal before all hell broke loose. Why did her powers send her to a point where there was barely any time to take action? The Organization will be reborn tonight, and so will Tiaxek. She hoped for more time to plan on what she could do but if nothing happens now, all this will be for naught and everything will happen again. So many will die, or turn into Heartless or vessels by the Organization-no, by Tiaxek's hand. She needed to act now. With hast edging her voice, Aeris croaked, "Get her. Now!"

Nico was taken aback by Aeris's tone, making him squirm out from her grip. He never heard her raise her voice before. She was always soft spoken. He chuckled nervously, "Maybe you should rest some more-"

Aeris growl loudly and got up to her feet, swaying slightly. She pushed Nico's hands away when he tried to catch her. She ignored her brother's calls as she burst out of the room. She made her way through the house, her eyes set on the door. She hastily put her shoes on, hopping to make them get on faster. She yelped when she slipped under herself, landing hard on her tailbone. She groaned at impact, but made her way back to her feet. Her head felt light, her body swaying until she tripped on the floor mat in front of their door. She stumbled as she tried to regain her balance but fail. She braced herself for impact but instead of landing on the floor she was caught in a pair of strong arms. She looked up to see it was your father. "What are you doing out of bed?"

Aeris squirmed out of her father's grip, making her way back to the door. "I have to get Mom."

Riku raised an eyebrow at her. He heard footsteps come behind him. He glanced over his shoulder to see Nico. Nico came to a skidding halt, bending over to rest his fists onto his knees, coughing and gasping for breath. Between gasps, he remarked, "Oh...you...you stopped her...oof..."

Riku placed a hand of Nico's back, sending him a worried glance. Nico looked up and smiled at his father, letting him know that he'll be fine. Riku smiled back at his son. His head shot up when he heard a door creak. Aeris had opened the front door and ran outside. He rushed after her, yelling, "Aeris, wait!" Worry rose in his chest when his daughter didn't stop her pace. Why was Aeris acting so strange? "Aeris, come back!" Aeris wove her way through the path, trying her best not to bump into the residence of the island coming to and fro from the beach. The blacktop slowly transitioned into sand as she continued down the winding road. The memories of chasing Nico down this very path came to her mind, the calm waves ahead turning into the raging seas, the wind cutting into her skin as the sky turned darker and darker. The memory cut short when Aeris crashed into something solid, making her fall into the sand with a grunt. She gripped into the sand in frustration. She looked up and gasped. "A-Aunt Kairi…"

Kairi was taken aback when Aeris suddenly jumped up to her feet and latched onto her, curling her arms around her as she buried her face into her chest. Kairi blinked in shock when Aeris suddenly burst into tears. Slowly, Kairi returned Aeris hug, her right hand resting onto Aeris neck, stroking the teen's hair gently. She could feel her shaking under her embrace. Behind Aeris, Kairi saw Riku and Nico coming down the path. She saw relief in Riku's eyes as he came closer. Kairi broke Aeris's hug, pulling herself to a distance so she could look into Aeris' eyes. Aeris laughed gently when Kairi wiped her tears away. "Aeris…what's wrong?"

Aeris felt a hand rest on her back. She noticed it was her father. Aeris let out a shaky breath, "I-I need to talk to Mom…do you know where she is?"

Kairi nodded. "Of course. She's with Sora and his boat…do you want me to go get her for you?" She smiled sweetly when Aeris nodded. "Okay. I'll be right back, alright?" She hurried down the coastline. After a few minute, Aeris saw Kairi come back from the shoreline with Katie and Sora by her side.

At the sight of Aeris, Katie hurried over to her. "Honey, what are you doing out of bed? You should be resting—"

"Mom, we don't have much time…." Aeris gripped onto her mother's arm, pulling her sleeve up. Katie let out a shout of protest but it was too late. The X shaped scar on her wrist was exposed. The group gasped when they saw the small flame-like specks around the scar grow in numbers, snaking its way up her arm. "The Organization is returning tonight, Mom."

Katie's eyes widened. "H…How do you know about the Organization? We never—"

"Tiaxek will take over your body, Mom! The worlds will come to and end, she'll form the X-Blade after killing all the Keyblade Masters to take over everything."

Aeris fidgeted in her seat, picking at her belt buckle. She looked to the side to watch the stars rush by the window as they warped through space. After Aeris' outburst on Destiney Islands, explaining the future events to her Mother, Father, Nico, Sora and Kairi, Sora took them all to the small island of the main island coast. Under some brush was a red and yellow ship. He called it a "Gummi Ship". He brought everyone into the ship and took off into the atmosphere. From overheard conversation, she heard Riku mention somewhere called Twilight Town. The name was familiar to Aeris but she had never been there herself. In the future, she learned that's where Roxas, Xion, Vanitas, Rin, and Lea used to live before it was taken by darkness. She could feel Nico's eyes burning into her. She growled, "Would you stop staring at me? It's getting on my nerves."

Nico stuttered, "I-I-I just…it's just…God, Aeris! This is all so messed up!"

"The alternative is worse…" Aeris grumbled. She returned her gaze to the ship's window.

Nico stared at his sister before burying his head into his hands, sputtering his lips. His mind was swarming with all the information his sister spouted back at home. It all was confusing to him. If all she said was true…why couldn't he remember like Aeris does? He yelped when he felt the ship rumbling, the roaring of the rockets increasing in volume. He slightly rose from his seat, his belt tightening uncomfortably around his hips before crashing back down into his seat. He felt himself sinking into the cushion as he heard the engines died. He looked out his window. Nico gasped and undid his belt so he could press himself against the glass. Outside was a crumbling brown brick wall that had been consumed by vines, the gate connecting the two walls was black and rusting. The lock for the gate had completely rusted off and was at the gates base, the overgrown grass and flowers barely concealing it. Beyond the gate was a large brown manor, vines growing on the building as well. There was a clocktower on top of the manor but the clock was gone. The left side of the manor had completely caved in. The only detail that Nico could make out was above the door way was a sigil of what looked to be a clocktower that had two bells hanging on each side. Whatever this place was, no one has been here in a long time. He heard his sister undo her belt buckle as well. Nico jumped out of his seat when the floor came down ahead of him, leaving a ramp to the outside world. He gasped when his father passed him and Aeris, his mother leaning against him. She was pale and her forehead was covered in sweat. She was gripping onto her wrist that had her x-shaped scar. Nico's eyes widened when he noticed it was bleeding. He and Aeris followed their parents down the ramp and through the manor's courtyard. Sora went ahead and opened the door for the group before following him. The inside of the manor was in worse shape than it was outside. The only way to go was up the staircase on the right side, the left completely blocked off by the fallen structure Nico saw outside. Riku led the group up the stairs, and through a library. Nico saw Aeris trying to take a look at the books but never had the chance to. The group continued down the stairs down the library, leading into a sudden shift of a high-grade tech. Beyond the hallway was what looked like to be a computer room.

At the computer was a woman. Her hair was platinum blonde and was wearing a simple dress. She turned her chair to face the group, fear growing on her face. She ran out of her chair and to Katie, taking her from Riku. She took Katie's arm, looking at her bleeding scare. The woman's face paled. "When Sora called me…I-I came here as fast as I could. I didn't think it would be this bad…"

It was Riku that said, "Naminé, we don't have much time. If Aeris is right…Katie…Katie will turn. Soon."

The woman, now named Naminé, nodded. "Of course. Come on Katie, we'll get you fixed right up…" She led Katie to the other doorway in the room. The group followed. The dark halls turned white. Lining the walls were these white pods. Naminé brought them to a room that was pure white, the pod in the middle of the room much larger than the ones they saw in the halls. When Naminé came close to it, the pod opened. She led Katie inside before leaving the pod herself, hurrying to the computer that was connected to the machine.

"Dad…what's she doing?" Nico asked Riku.

Riku sighed heavily, shaking his head. "This is a memory pod. A long time ago, your Uncle Sora had to use it to recover from his journey. With Naminé's help, he was able to heal and return to normal, gaining his memories back. Namine is going to try to erase Xehanort from your mother. It may save her and make the events that Aeris lived through will never happen."

From the computer, Namine added, "But this will be a little more difficult. I've only done this with Sora…and the stakes weren't as high then. I physically have to pull apart Katie's memory…and erase a large section of it and I can't fix it. They have to…stay erased." She looked up from the computer's screen, looking into the group's eyes. "This may take years to complete…and Katie may not be the same if I can get this to work. If you have anything to say to her….now's the time."

Riku nodded, bringing his children close to the pod. He saw that Katie had sat down, no longer able to keep herself upright. She smiled weakly at him. He returned the smile, tears starting to well in his eyes. "We're going to fix you, Katie. I promise."

Katie nodded weakly. "I know…I know you will." Her eyes sluggishly glided over to her children. She smiled at them. "I'll be okay, I promise."

Nico shook his head hard. With a wail, he ran into the pod, falling to his knees to get to his mother's level and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly. "Don't go, Mom! D-Don't—"

"Shh…" Katie stroked his hair. "I'll be okay…Nico…I know…I'm not going anywhere. Everything will be okay…"

"This is so messed up!" He exclaimed.

"I know, honey…but you'll have to be strong…for me," She pulled away from Nico's embrace and pointed at their family. "And for your sister and Father. I'll be here…" Her hand landed over his heart. "Always. I'll never leave you…" Her gaze went to other family members. "Any of you…"

Aeris and Riku came into the pod, hugging Katie. The group held each other for a while, time seeming to stop around them. One by one, they slowly let go of Katie and headed out of the pod. Once they were all out, Naminé closed the pod. The pod's shell stayed clear for a moment. Katie rested her hand on the pod, smiling at her family. Her eyes slowly drooped shut and Katie fell backwards but she floated. The shell hardened on the pod, turning back to its white color. The process had begun.

And there you have it. The end of the Katie Heart era. I know, I know, I left the ending open ended on purpose. I would like to leave the result of the process to you guys. I also seem like this is a good way to end the series. Not all end in happy endings. That and I love a story where it ends on the choice of the reader. Anyway it has been an honor to write this story for you guys. I know that this ending is not exactly ideal but I just hope that you guys like it. Katie's story is done There is no way to head forward with her. Does she get a happy ending? Or is she trapped in the memory pod forever.

In five days, KH3 will be released. I am hoping that when I am done playing KH3, I will write a new story. I already have a character created and a somewhat of an idea of how it will go. I hope I see you guys there if it happens.

It has been a pleasure writing for you guys and creating Katie Heart's story. Thank you so so so much for reading. Goodbye everyone!
