Steve's almost asleep when she creeps into his room.

"Wanda?" he murmurs, propping himself up onto his elbows and turning on the bedside light.

"I have never been alone before." Her voice is quiet, and shaky, and she looks as if she wants to run away.

Steve gently lifts up the covers and pats the spot next to him. Wanda hesitates, before closing the door behind her and crossing the floor to the bed. She lays down next to Steve, first a few inches away and then curling around him.

Steve's eyes widen in surprise, but he eventually wraps his arms around her waist and holds her. Silent sobs rack through her body, tears staining Steve's pajama shirt.

He holds her until the sobs stop, and her breathing becomes equal. When he is sure that she's drifted into sleep, Steve presses a tender, reassuring kiss to the top of her head before letting his own exhaustion lull him to sleep.

Authors Note: Just a small little one shot to boost my SteveWanda feels. I wrote this a few weeks ago, when I first saw Age of Ultron, but I haven't posted it until just now. Questions, comments, complaints, concerns?
