Chapter 65
Mostly everyone was in the classroom, aside from the group that went roof running and parkouring on the day that caused the whole class to go to the nursery school. They were currently speaking with Karasuma in the teacher's office, or rather they went to go speak with him about it.
The others though, were still in the classroom.
"Nagataka, I don't think that's a reasonable amount of chocolate milk..." Ritsu observed from right next to the wheelchair bound student. "Um, are you okay?"
"..." Nagataka took a sip from the drink, it was a pretty big glass too boot, way too big. He swirled it in the big glass for a bit. "Not really."
Ritsu shot him a concerned look. "Should I call Karasuma? Or Korosensei?"
"Not gonna mention Irina-sensei?"
"I have an internet connection, I can find an appropriate answer for your worries!"
"She seems...pumped, determined even." Nagataka then chugged even more of the chocolate milk, wiping his lips with his arm, an odd far off look was in his eyes. "Last chapter, I was relegated to a background character. Hell, I barely got any screen time!"
Ritsu blinked, then the bat out of hell Fuwa appeared as if she had mastered the Shunpo or Instant Transmission.
"You think that's bad! Try being a supporting character from the very beginning!" She slammed her fists down onto a desk she had dragged over so she could slam her hands down.
"...Who are you again?"
"NAGATAKA!"
"Sorry, sorry. It was a joke...I was kidding."
"Ah." Ritsu smiled with her eyes close as a bit of sweat appeared on her avatar. "So they were just messing around."
"We're sorry for causing you trouble, Karasuma-sensei." the group apologised as their teacher typed away at his laptop.
"This is part of my job too. Don't worry about it." he said rather offhandedly. "How do you guys feel? I think this last incident was a huge loss in terms of both assassinations and studies. Were you able to learn from something from it?"
Karasuma never looked up from the laptop. "...I thought becoming strong was for your own benefit. That acquiring skills to kill was for prestige and money. That acquiring knowledge was for grades." Nagisa began. "But the skills we acquired, I remembered that it can be used for others, too. If we acquired the ability to kill, we can save the world. If we can acquire knowledge, we can help someone else."
After such a speech, Taiga sighed. "We won't use them recklessly anymore, probably."
"We'll be careful about everything." Hiroto joined in, a bit more confident than Taiga.
All three teachers in the room had some sort of smile on their face. "I understand your thoughts well," he then stood from seat. "We can't restart intensive training with the way you are now."
"Huh?"
"I mean, look at this." Karasuma then threw down some gym clothes.
"A torn up jersey? Oh! That's mine!" the perv noted.
"Training and assassinations will become more difficult. The strength of the school jerseys will no longer be able to hold out." Karasuma then got the group to follow him. "If they get worn out, then parents would get suspicious, and foremost, they can't keep you guys safe."
Then Karasuma's underlings came walking down the hallway with boxes. "This is a gift from our country. Today marks the day, where you all will become stronger in both mind and body."
"Starting today, physical education, will be carried out wearing these." the box opened as it contained many cool looking uniforms for both the males and females of class. "I'll say this beforehand, you won't find better clothes than that in the world."
"Whoa." the group stared in awe as they entered the classroom, placing the boxes on the desks before Karasuma addressed everyone else.
"Now, everyone, grab your new uniform and go get changed." And like eager sheep, they went to go get changed.
"Achoo!"
"You okay, Nagataka?"
"I'm fine Ritsu." the ravenette nodded. "Anyways, what are we supposed to do?"
Both him and Ritsu were wearing the new P.E uniform as Nagataka had a pair of binoculars as he wore the hood up.
"Scouting."
Nagataka rolled his eyes. "Besides that."
"Communicating Karasuma should any of the others get into a dangerous situation."
Nagataka withhold the rolling of his eyes this time. "Doesn't mean it's not boring." he said, bringing up the binoculars to look at their target. "You're fine with the zoom?"
"I'm fine with it."
As Nagataka looked through the binoculars, he saw his target. That yellow perverted octopus having a barbeque.
"Nurufufufu, a barbeque with the foie gras I secretly bought directly from a seller in France. This alone, I will keep a secret from students." He wasn't doing a good job as suddenly, from above, came down Rio, decked out in the female version of the new PE uniform. "NYEH!" Korosensei shrieked like a banshee as Rio landed on the barbeque.
"WHA— WHAT ARE YOU DOING FALLING FROM SUCH A PLACE, NAKAMURA?!" The octopus was ignored however.
"Wow, even from that height, I couldn't feel the heat of the grill and don't feel hurt at all!" Rio was shocked in amazement of the new uniform as memories of what Karasuma told them repeated in their mind.
"It's a reinforced fiber which was jointly developed by the military and a corporation." Karasuma told the students. "Shock resistant, stretch resistant, severance resistant, fire resistant, shock resistant, and so on. Every factor is globally cutting edge."
Karasuma then smirked. "They just so happened to be looking for a performance test monitors, that means, these were just made for you guys."
"It's super is this lighter than our jersey?" asked Justice as Yada bounced high into the air.
"And these shoes are really bouncy!" she commented.
Karasuma kept his smirk though, "Don't think that those are its only features."
The class gazed on in amazement at the uniforms. "Any questions?"
"Yeah, I got one." Ryoma (the tsundere) raised his hand. "Why is Nagataka and Ritsu wearing the outfit?"
"It makes us feel apart of the group." was Ritsu's calm reply.
"I don't want to be left out!" was Nagataka's less calm (or very calm according to him) reply.
It was quiet after that.
Korosensei relocated himself as he lounged around. "I truly cannot put my guard down around those students." he said, with his guard down. "I wonder if they were drawn in by the smell of the foie gras?"
He flicked the page of his magazine.
Meanwhile, overlooking the area. "Yeah, he moved. He's now lounging around to the right of you guys." said one Nagataka to the phone Ritsu was on as the group moved into position.
"There should be no problem here." smiled the octopus. "It's time for the used JUMP I bought from Fuwa."
As he read the manga, the nearby students used dye to camouflage themselves into the surrounding area. Yet another one of the new uniform's capabilities. The dye in the clothes react to a special volatile substance, allowing the wearer to temporarily change their colour of their clothes however they want. Utilising all the variegated colours, no matter where, it displays the camouflage effect.
As the octopus read his JUMP, a paintball destroyed the page, causing the squid to shriek once more. "C-CHIBA! WAS THAT YOU JUST NOW?!" he asked, looking back to the JUMP. "Now I can't read the two great parallel world arcs of Hunter and Toriko again!"
These uniforms also had shock absorbent polymer that effectively protects the shoulders, back and waist and if you wear the hood and blow air into it, you'll also have your head and neck protected!
Nagataka watched as Korosensei moved, this time into the classroom. He couldn't really get a good look at it though, but thankfully, Ritsu came in handy.
Especially with the webcam feature.
"Although I'm a teacher, I spend time on the arts." his face was pink as he said this. "Especially on the difficulty of recreating the rocket breasts~."
Nagataka lowered his binoculars for a moment, after a crawling closer towards the classroom. "Ritsu, record this."
"Um, okay." she proceeded to record the perverted octopus, who of course was busy sculpting the naked female form.
Suddenly, more students came crashing in, breaking the glass as they did. "NYAH!" Korosensei screamed as a rain of bullets fired at the octopus, doing nothing but damaging the sculpture. "NO! THE ROCKETS WHICH I POURED MY HEART INTO!"
He then turned teary eyed to the others. "W-What is the meaning of this? What is going on today? I don't even have time to breathe!"
"It's new equipment, so I told them not to show off their skills, but...it seems they wanted to show you, the usage of their new abilities." Karasuma explained.
"This should be some nice blackmail." Nagataka chuckled. "Let's go Ritsu." with that, Nagataka began to prone crawl all the way back to class.
"We respond to your lessons with assassinations, that's how we do things around here." the tsundere scoffed.
"Since we were just in trouble, we have to reply with a serious assassination attempt." Fuwa added next, only to frown. "That JUMP is gonna cost you though."
"B-BUT I ALREADY PAID FOR IT!"
"We promise Korosensei, these abilities of ours, we won't use them outside of our goal of protecting someone."
"Oi! Don't change the subject!" Korosensei then shook his head, he was proud of them. So he began to pick up pieces of the classroom they destroyed. "That answer deserves full points, starting tomorrow, we'll begin our regular lessons."
As the day ended, Korosensei watched as they all began to leave as he thought back to how they were when he arrived that fateful day.
"When I first arrived, there was a simply stagnated bloodlust here and there. There was little danger of an assassination, but it was a cold space…and now the entire area is overflowing with a warm bloodlust."
"One day...even you...will meet one who is as such."
The octopus chuckled to himself. "Yes, there are many before my eyes."
Korosensei then shook his head. "Nagataka, do you need a lift home?" he asked, seeing the student sit alone.
Nagataka, who was still in the new uniform sat alone in the classroom, aside from Ritsu of course. "...Yes please."
With that, Nagataka was quickly taken back home thanks to the flying yellow squid.
"We got an awesome present, huh?" smiled one Sugino as the group travelled down the mountain, unaware of the yellow dash in the sky. "As a boy, that stuff really gets me hyped up!"
"For the girls, I threw out the old idea for the design." the group turned to see Irina walking down the mountain too.
"Should've known..." thought the group at Bitch-sensei's reveal of her redesigning the female outfits.
"That Karasuma wanted to make the clothes the same for both the boys and girls, so I said 'expose the body line for the girls some more'."
Knowing bitch-sensei, the group came to the conclusion that the current outfit was more so likely a compromise or a backup idea like a plan b.
"That guy really doesn't understand a girl's heart." Irina then pouted. "He ended up not getting me a present..."
"Eh?" A few blinked at that.
"Even that octopus got it!" she screamed. "Ah! I'm getting pissed off just thinking about it!"
The group watched continue down hill.
"Is there a reason for Karasuma-sensei to give Bitch-sensei a present in the first place?"
"Who knows..."
"Ah!" Hinano had a surprised look on her face. "I remember! Four days ago, it was the tenth of October, Bitch-sensei's birthday."
The resident class pervert sighed. "So it passed when we were doing our extracurricular activities, huh?"
"She was hoping for a present from Karasuma-sensei but, as expected, she didn't get one." Yuma ran a hand through his hair.
"And with Bitch-sensei being so prideful, she didn't right?" asked Toka while Fuwa rubbed the back of her neck.
"She's as awkward as ever, huh?"
Yukiko kept her eyes on Irina as she left. "But...us causing a commotion might have played a part, too."
Hiroto then grinned. "Alright, should we give her another push on the back?"
Then the others began to grin or smile as well before they all departed from the school.
"It's a nice place you got," said the yellow octopus.
"Only registering that it's nice now?" the wheelchaired bound student asked back as the two arrived at Nagataka's home.
"M-My apologies!" Korosensei shrieked. "Last time I was here, I believe you were sick if I recall correctly!"
Nagataka just narrowed his eyes at the squid.
"Nagataka? Why are you staring at me like that?"
Nagataka began rolling slowly towards the octopus. "Step away from the fridge."
"But—"
"No, you're not getting the pudding."
The two just stared at each other for a while, each one having an intense stare in their eyes.
"Please sir, can I have just a little bit of pudding?"
"You wanna try me Takoyaki? Like hell you're getting that pudding Erosensei."
The two continued their staring match as the sun was almost out of site. "It's getting late…" whistled Korosensei out of the blue. "Do you mind giving me at least a treat for bringing you here?"
Nagataka stared unblinkingly at his teacher. "No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Nagataka, I—"
"No."
The sun had set in the oceanside city. A man ran through the street, already panting as he did. "This is bad! This is very bad!" the man thought as he continued to run down the street as fast as he could.
"That guy is definitely dangerous!" he panicked as he shot a look behind him. He needed to get off the street as soon as possible and go into hiding.
He soon jumped into a small opening off the street. "Could he be the guy from the rumours? I'll just hide here for a—"
"I'm surprised that you could sense danger from such a distance like that." a voice came from behind as the man froze. "As expected of the great sniper carrying the alias of Redeye."
Another figure stood in the shadow of Redeye, it was as if his shadow came to life and obtained a physical form.
"Huh? Hold on a second." Redeye quickly tried to play things off. "What's this 'Redeye' title that you're talking about? You've got the wrong person, don't scare me like that."
Redeye then put his hand into his pocket. "Of course I'll run when someone followed me from a tourist spot. I need a cigg—" Redeye immediately turned around, pulling out a revolver.
He was about to shoot the shadow, but he wasn't there, he had already passed right on by. The figure of the Grim Reaper made out of what could only be bloodlust appeared behind him, he could almost feel the bloodlust scythe against his throat as he began to fall. Blood flew out of his body as he turned to see the shadow's bloodied hand.
"I get it now...notorious hitmen and assassins are getting killed, one after the other...hitman killing..." Redeye fell onto his knees and soon face first into the stone below. "That Lorvo was killed by a surprise attack...I thought it was impossible for an average assassin, but this attack...an invisible scythe."
"This guy's... the legendary.." Redeye's vision got dark as he watched the shadow tap away at a mobile phone with crossed out faces of hitmen.
The said man that spoke up once more as he landed on a picture of Irina.
"Do not fear it, the name...God of Death."
OMAKE
Today was the day, the great race was on, and the prize? Fifty million dollars, up for grabs! A young teen with black hair sat in his wheelchair, looking up at his horse.
"Nagataka, are you sure you should be going to this race?" asked the animal lover, Hinano. "The race sounds pretty dangerous, it's a race that goes around the whole country."
Nagataka however patted the horse, before lifting himself up onto it. "It will be fine. If its about my legs, don't worry, Hinano."
"...Just be safe." with that Nagataka nodded, as he patted the horse.
"Let's go, Carnival Youth!" Nagataka smiled as the horse neighed and off they went, as they went to join the Steel Ball Run.
…
After joining the race, Nagataka met up with another fellow called Karma, wearing a wide brimmed hat that was skilled in spinning steel balls, mostly as pranks.
Though the two quickly hit it off, however they quickly came to problems during the race. These problems being others who would rather hunt them down.
Gakushu, their 'rival' for most of the race appeared. "Why it's so nice to see you guys again." he lied through his teeth as Karma spun the steel balls, only for another force that seemed to be made up centipedes in human form blocked the attack.
"Tch, he blocked my Steel Balls."
"Don't worry, I got this. OCTOPUS!" From behind Nagataka, a yellow ghostly octopus came out.
"Go Centipede!"
"Octopus!"
The two ghostly figures clashed.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"NURUFUFUFUFUFU!"
Octopus got the better hit, causing Gakushu to spout blood as he fell off his horse.
"Nagataka, don't slow down, we got a race to win!"
"Alright!"
And off they went, to win this race.
Yo! It's been a while. I have no perception of time, I'm sorry.
Perception of Time aside.
This chapter was meant to be apart of a much longer chapter, but since it's been a while since the last chapter (like whoa, that's a long time), I decided to cut the chapter (omake included) up a bit to make the chapters come out faster and to give you something now. So that's why this chapter is around the length that it is. Man, we're getting close to the end huh? Already up to the G.O.D! Let's hope we can reach the end, eh?
Also, someone had brought something up to me recently, and that was the idea of a characters reading story. It did peak my interest. So thank you Guestspirit for bringing it to my attention. I might do it myself when I finish the story, but if you're interested in it, feel free and give me a heads up.
Regardless of that, ain't it crazy? How we're already at the G.O.D arc? Man, I feel kinda nostalgic with this story, sure I might have been finished if I kept up with everything, but I'm very happy to update this story again. Me being emotional aside, enjoy the short chapter and I hope we can see the end of this journey together.
