A/N: Yes, you can throw rocks at me. I know that I haven't updated this story in literally forever. I had the biggest dry spell where Dawsey was concerned for these last months. It's not always easy to get the creative juices flowing when the object of your stories no longer share the screen together. There is three more chapters to go after this one for the story to come to an end so here's the next adventure for our little family.

Weeks had passed and Gabby was now home on maternity leave and Matt tried to keep an eye on her as much as possible while he was on shift, much to her annoyance. He would stop by at least once, if not two and they exchanged texts.

"Gabby, baby. You in here?" Gabby rolled her eyes as she finished to cut some fruits for herself. The weather was warming up and she was ready to take some fresh air in while she ate.

"In the kitchen." She called out and Matt walked in with Herrmann in tow.

"Hey. How are you feeling?" He kissed her.

"Same as I did when you came by during your last call."

"Come on Gabby, let the man dote on you." Christopher kissed her cheek.

"You mean hover. That man is a menace." She winked at Matt in teasing.

"Trust me, you 'll be happy to have him once that little one comes along."

"I know, I know. Everyone keeps reminding me as if I hadn't had three kids before." She rolled her eyes at the two of them.

"Three kids ain't six." He laughed. Their radio cackled to and Matt kissed Gabby one more time before leaving. "So, is that plan still a go Captain?"

"It's definitely a go Herrmann. She's spreading herself thin and she needs to relax." Matt sighed as he hopped in the front of 81.

"Cindy and I are more than happy to help you with the kids."

"Oh, we've got that covered." Matt smirked from the front. He had asked Severide and Christie about keeping them while he took her away for a few days and that had been the most fun at Kelly's expense he'd have in a long while.

"How freaked out was the Lieutenant?"

"Oh, he was freaked out." Matt chuckled at the memory.

"I wanted to swing something by you." Kelly was alone with Violet; Christie having gone for drinks with some girlfriends.

"I'm listening." He said as he was getting dinner ready for the three of them.

"I was thinking of bringing Gabby to her parents' cabin for a week since you know, she's been stressing out, even if she won't admit it and I think that it might help her relax a bit."

"I think that's a great idea, I'm sure she'd love it. When would you guys be doing that?"

"It sort of depends on your answer?" Kelly swallowed the pull of beer he had taken.

"My answer?"

"Yeah. We sort of need someone to keep the kids, all five of them." Kelly almost spit the beer he was sipping on.

"What about Gabby's parents? Or Antonio?

"Her parents are out of town and Antonio's on an undercover so I can't ask Laura to look after them on top the bakery."

"And I have shift and Christie's been teaching again. How about Herrmann?"

"Herrmann with TEN kids? You do know he'll be interim on truck while I'm gone." Matt chuckled.

"Point taken. Sure, I guess, we'll figure something out."

"You are the best, uncle Kelly." Matt smirk, making Kelly laugh.

They made it to the fire and Matt was happy to find out that it was a kitchen fire and it was contained within minutes. They returned to the house and Matt holed himself in his office to write the incident report. He couldn't wait to get out of this place and bring the kids over to his sister's house and head out of town for the next week. He was taking her to her parents' cabin and had found a day spa close by where he had a reservation for a 90 minutes massage.

"Only a few hours left, how does it feel?" Kelly poked his head in Matt's office with a smirk.

"I can't wait."

"She still doesn't know?"

"Nope and she doesn't suspect a thing." He turned in his chair. "I can't wait to see her face."

"And what about the kids? Do They know you guys are going out of town?"

"Christie is telling them tonight after she picks them up from my place."

"This should be fun."

"Thanks again for doing this Severide."

"My pleasure." The bells rang, calling Squad 3 and ambo out. Matt returned to his report while the rest of the house was out.

Matt was happy to get out of the firehouse. He was putting his plan in motion as soon as he got home. If he was being honest, he was happy to get out of town with Gabby for a little bit, giving them some rare alone time together. He loved the kids, all six of them, to his very core but until baby six was here, he needed some quality time with his girl.

"Gabby, baby, I'm home."

"In here." He walked towards the kitchen where he found her making some breakfast.

"How'd you sleep?" He leaned down and kissed her.

"Missed you in bed and I think I might have a nerve that's starting to get stuck in my lower back."

"Here?" He pressed his fingers on her lower back.

"Yeah." She hissed.

"Alright, get some food into you and I'll get showered and I will work that knot out of you."

"Thanks babe." Matt kissed her shoulder and headed upstairs. Taking a shower wasn't a lie but he packed a few things for the both of them for the week before getting the grime from shift out.

"Matt, what's taking so long?" She yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'm right here." He came down the stairs with a smile.

"What's that?" She pointed to the two bags in Matt's hands.

"Those, are some clothes for the next week because I am taking you out to your parent's cabin for the next week to relax." He dropped them to his feet and ran his hands over her arms.

"Matt." Her eyes misted over involuntarily.

"I know you said that you were fine, but I figured that we could get away, just you and me for a few days, no kids. I really think that it'll be good for you, for us."

"Thanks." She smiled through her tears. "What about the kids? Who's keeping them?"

"My sister and Severide have them and Cindy and Herrman will be back-up if they need it."

"Herrmann with ten kids." She chuckled.

"That's what I said too." He smirked. "Ready to get going?"

"Now?"

"Yeah, we are heading to the lake so we better get going in you want to spend as much time together as we can."

"Okay." She smiled. Matt took their bags and they headed out. Matt pulled Gabby's hand towards him as they drove, some music playing on low. They didn't need to talk because that's how they were together. They drove a few hours before Matt took the small dirt road and finally the Dawson family cabin was visible. Matt helped her in, and they settled themselves before Matt started preparing something for lunch. He watched as Gabby pulled a comforter around her shoulders.

"You're cold?"

"A little but that's always something I liked about this place." She smiled and leaned against the counter next to him. "It's always a few degrees cooler here in the summer and the wind mixed with the smell of the lake, it always felt like home here."

"Maybe we can come here more often with the kids."

"I'd like that." She ran her hand across her belly. "You like that too huh?

"Baby kicking?"

"A lot. He moves more with every week."

"He?"

"A feeling."

"Eight more weeks and we'll find out for sure"

"I can't wait."

"Come on, food."

"Just admit that you are trying to get me fatter." She chuckled as they walked towards the back porch overlooking the lake.

"Oh absolutely, the fatter the better." They settled down and enjoyed the rest of their day. Matt made a fire later in the evening and rubbed Gabby's sore spot in her back before they went to bed. Matt was tired and Gabby grew more tired as the weeks went so sleeping early and being able to sleep in was a rare commodity that they fully planned on taking advantage of during the week. The plan was to relax and not do much of anything besides the day of pampering Matt had set for Gabby on their second day there.

"Where are we going?"

"That is a surprise for you." He raised her hand to his lips and pressed them on her knuckles. It was a short drive from the cabin, but Matt would drop Gabby there and pick her up later. When Matt pulled into the parking lot of the facility, Gabby gasped.

"What are you up to Matt Casey?" She asked with a smirk.

"You'll see." He parked and helped her out of his truck. They walked inside and they were greeted by a lady at the front desk.

"My name is Matt Casey, I called earlier this week about an all-inclusive treatment."

"Yes, welcome Mr. Casey. You must be Mrs. Casey." She smiled kindly at Gabby.

"That's me and I'm looking forward to this surprise my sweet husband got for me." She looked at Matt with love.

"You've earned it." He kissed her.

"Perfect, how far along are you?" She questioned as she walked around the counter.

"Thirty-two weeks."

"That's wonderful, your first one?" The woman named Shelly asked.

"Our first one but the sixth between the two of us." She blushed. She knew how that sounded when she said it like that.

"That must be chaotic."

"That's why we came out here for a few days before this one comes around." Gabby drummed her fingers against her belly.

"It's a wonderful idea. So, we are going to take care of you all day long with a massage and some pampering, how does that sound?"

"It sounds amazing."

"We will take very good care of your wife Mr. Casey."

"Thank you." He smiled at the woman. "And I want you to enjoy every second of today." He pulled her to him and leaned down for a kiss.

"I love you." She whispered as they parted.

"I love you too." Matt watched Gabby go and he left to run some errands while Gabby got pampered.

Gabby was more than willing to follow Shelly as she showed them the facility. Her first thing was a thermal experience. First, she was guided towards the dry sauna to help relax her muscles 10 minutes with a bottle of water and the bottom stair, it was already helping the tension leave her body. Then, they took her for a short dip in a cold bath. Gabby didn't mind the cold, but it was freezing so it was an in and out step. Then for another twenty minutes, she was given a plush robe and left to enjoy the relaxation areas. She couldn't believe that Matt had planned such a wonderful day for her, so she soaked it all up. They would get her for a light lunch that she enjoyed by a fire outside, still wrapped in her robe. Then they brought her for a shower and then they started the 90 minutes massage. It was something that she hadn't gotten in years, but it sounded heavenly. She enjoyed every second of it and last came a facial and nail treatments and polish. When Matt returned, Gabby was rested like she never had been since moving back to Chicago.

"So, how was your day?" Matt asked as they drove back to the cabin.

"It was amazing, thank you so much baby."

"You deserve every second of today, for everything that you do for our family." She scoffed but smiled.

"I think we make a great team, so it just makes it easy." Matt parked in front of the cabin and walked to the other side to help Gabby out of the truck. When she landed on her feet, Matt noticed that she was as white as a sheet.

"What's wrong Gabby?"

"My water just broke." The side of her pants were wet, and she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.

"I've got you." He pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialled 911. "I need an ambulance; my wife is going into labour."

A/N: Gabby's water just broke but she's a little early. Will she deliver a healthy baby or will early labour have dire consequences? I really hope you guys liked it and please take a few seconds to review before you go, your thoughts mean the world to me. - Sarra
