May I Kiss You?

Steve took the beer bottle from Danny's hand and placed it on the table nearby, next to his. "I had a good time tonight," he said in a tone that made the blonde smile with its gentleness.

"Me too. I think, given how we are, this was the perfect date," Danny said with an equally hushed and soft voice.

"Hmm… not quite," Steve whispered.

Danny looked at his partner, frowning a bit before he could hide it. "Oh?" He wasn't sure if he should have been offended or not.

"Nope, not perfect… yet," Steve said, and suddenly Danny knew. The light grip Steve had on the blonde's hip got a bit firmer, and Steve moved his other hand to Danny's shoulder, then to cup Danny's cheek gently.

"May I kiss you?" Steve asked in an almost inaudible whisper, and Danny nodded, his stomach filling with butterflies.

Danny had his hands on Steve's hips, but he moved his left hand up to his partner's chest until he could feel the skin where Steve's buttons were open. It felt like slow motion: Steve dipping his head closer to Danny's and looking at the blonde with no hesitation, just emotions that were pure, whatever they were.

Danny could feel his partner's breath on his lips as the blond's eyes fluttered closed, and he raised his head enough for their lips to meet. Starting so chastely, the kiss was sweet and innocent until Danny parted his lips instinctively to lick Steve's bottom one lightly. Danny smiled inwardly when his partner's lips parted and he could deepen the kiss the way he wanted.

It never got too heated, just passionate as they learned each other's tastes and let their lips and tongues mold together. When Steve finally pulled back and looked at Danny in the dim light of the kitchen, Steve's eyes were darker, and the blonde knew his were too.

"Thank you for tonight, Danny," Steve said, lips slightly swollen from the kissing. He looked so happy and relaxed, it made Danny wonder if he had the same look on his own features.

"You're welcome, Steve," Danny replied, leaning to kiss his partner on his cheek.
