Chapter 3

It was Gai that saw the white haired angel approaching the group. Ruka's arms had small scratches on them and his hair seemed to be missing a some of its length, but there wasn't much to be concerned about.

"What happened?"

"There was a surprise attack. Those two we saw in Heaven must have gotten ready for us." Ruka said. "Where is Rei?"

"He wasn't with you?"

"He was," There was an uneasy feeling forming in Ruka's stomach. "Whatever attacked us seemed to be aiming for Rei. I told him to find all of you while I kept them away."

"That was stupidly brave." Gai muttered. Goh gave him a look and the blonde Saint Beast quietly apologized.

"He should be here..." Ruka trailed off as he looked around.

"Hey!" Someone shouted. The group jumped and got into fighting position. "Wait! I'm not your enemy!" Two people ran forward. The first person Gai saw made him let his guard down immediately. His short orange hair and green eyes were unmistakable.

"Maya?" Gai's weapon vanished and the blonde almost walked towards his old friend. Goh stepped in front of him.

"It's me." Maya said trying to calm the others down. "Kira and I have been traveling around. We just got here yesterday."

"Why?"

"There might be information on our parents here since Angels and humans live in the nearby village." Maya looked at the group of five. "What are you doing here?"

"We were sent here by Zeus." Yuda said. "There are old enemies of his that have returned and need to be taken care of."

"Why doesn't he do it?" For a second Maya's eyes looked purple before returning to his natural green. "I mean, he would know how to beat them right?"

Shin murmured an agreement and crossed his arms. Yuda looked at his partner then at Maya. There was a flicker of suspicion in the leader of the Saint Beasts eyes.

"It appears their power has grown since Zeus last fought them. They were able to get into the throne room, taunt us, and escape with little difficulty."

"Wow..." Maya's eyes were wide with interest. Before he could say anything there was the low rumble of storm clouds and it began raining. "The village Kira and I are staying at is nearby. You can stay there for a little bit."

"Thank you."

"You never said they were that strong."

"What do you mean 'Mn'? This is your problem too!"

"Yeah, there's six of them. Don't change the question-"

"Rei, but-"

"I didn't see him...You don't think!"

A/N: I'm sorry for the short chapter! I had a plan for this chapter and then I forgot it. I hope you enjoyed the chapter anyway!

If anyone'a confused about the last part of the chapter, it's a conversation, but only half of it is being heard. It's important to the plot.
