Kamian POV, Unknown Location.

Kamina and Lelouch were standing just outside their knighmares, and at the top of what looked like a floating temple, was the Britannian Emperor.

" It's been a long time Lelouch." said the Emperor with a corny smile. "My prodigal son."

This guy is really starting to piss me off. Thought Kamina to himself. He took one step towards him, but was suddenly grabbed by Lelouch. Before Kamina could ask what he was doing Lelouch pulled him behind his knightmare.

"What are you doing!" shouted Kamina as he regains his footing.

"Just wait." Replied Lelouch.

"Answer my question about 8 years ago!" shouted Lelouch from behind his knightmare. "Why didn't you try to protect mother? You knew the others were plotting against her. You knew everything."

"People are not equal." replied the Emperor confusing both Lelouch and Kamina. "You have a unique form of Geass. A power that no one else poses. Use it to get the answers from me."

Lelouch turned his attention back to Kamina. "He's baiting us."

"So I'll just go up there and kick his ass." Replied Kamina. "Geass never worked on me anyway."

Kamina was about to walk out when Lelouch spoke. "Stay put!" Lelouch was so mad even Kamina was scared a bit. "He has a Geass that lets him rewrite a person's memories. We can't take the chance it might work on you."

"I assume you have a plan then?" asked Kamina.

"What's wrong." said the Emperor like he was board. "Are you not my son, a prince of Britannia."

"I might have one." said Lelouch ignoring the Emperor. Lelouch removed his contact lens, revealing his Geass. he then pulled out a switch from his pocket. Kamina didn't know what to expect, but stood ready. Lelouch pushed the switch and a small capsule fired from his knightmare. It exploded in the air and a bunch of mirrors started falling.

Lelouch looked backwards at one of the falling mirrors as the Emperor looked up at them. "Lelouch V Britannia commands you. DIE!"

A moment later all the mirror crashed to the ground and it seemed like nothing had happened. But then the Emperor spoke. "Very well." Lelouch used one of the mirrors that fell while Kamina looked around the knightmares leg with caution. the Emperor pull out a pistol and shot himself right in the heart (though Kamina doubted he had one). He stood for what seemed like an impossible amount of time before finally falling backwards.

Kittan POV

Kittan and the others had been following Gurran Lagann 2 for a while, they fell behind but their sensores said they were close. As they were crossing a huge desert he could see what looked like a small mountain in the distance. as they got closer they saw that it was smoking. Kittan was about to order everyone to hurry up when he saw a bunch of E.U knightmares and soldiers in a line right in front of the . Kittan and the others stopped and landed just in front of them.

"What's going on?" asked Kittan.

A soldier walked out and spoke. "Kamina and Zero engaged in battle with a large knightmare. when it was defeated they chased after it to capture the pilot."

"Any other enemies to be defeated?" asked Kittan.

"No." replied the soldier. "They enemy forces were less than expected. They likely didn't think this place would be found."

"AHHHH." groaned Kittan as he smacked his forehead. "We came all this way for nothing. Have you guys had any contact with Kamina lately?"

"No." answered the soldier. "Not since he went with Kamina. We were ordered to wait and guard the perimeter until he returned."

Something about this feels off. thought Kittan. "I'm going in. The rest of you wait here." With that Kittan flew off before any more words could be spoken.

Kamina POV

Kamina and Lelouch were standing over the Emperor's corpse, lying on the ground with a hole in its heart.

"You ask me, he got off easy." stated Kamina.

"Indeed." replied Lelouch. "I had questions for him. Debt he should have answered for."

Suddenly both Kamina and Lelouch heard a grumble from the Emperor. His eyes opened and he began to speak. "You impudent Lelouch."

How the hell are you alive!" yelled Kamina. "You have a hole in your heart."

"Plots and schemes and diseptions." said the Emperor as he stood up. "You really though you could beat me with those cheap tricks. You want the power of a king, then come at me like a king!"

"DIE!" yelled Lelouch, though nothing seemed to happen.

Thinking quickly Kamina ran over to the gun. "Hey Lelouch, catch." Kamina kicked the gun to Lelouch who caught it and began shooting the Emperor.

Lelouch shot the Emperor three times in the chest, but the Emperor didn't even flinch.

"Screw this!" shouted Kamina as he unsheathed his sword from his back. he then charged at the Emperor with the sword pointed straight at his head. The Emperor reached out his left hand with the palm open. Kamina impaled straight through the Emperor's hand and kept going. the sword however stopped just before it reached the Emperor's head because the hilt hit his hand.

"You still do not understand." said the Emperor unfazed by the sword tip inches from his face or his impaled hand. "I am beyond the power of guns or swords. No matter how you attack me it's useless." the Emperor then closed his impaled hand around the hilt of Kamina's sword and yanked it right out of Kamina hand. Kamina stepped back to be next to Lelouch. The Emperor used his right hand to pull the sword out and throw it at Kamina's feet. he then pulled the glove off his right hand revealing a Geass symbol.

Lelouch was thrown backwards by an unseen force and landed on his back at the bottom of the steps. Kamina ran after him.

"Hey lelouch." shouted Kamina as he ran to his side. "Come on, get up. We got to find a way to beat this guy."

"We can't." replied Lelouch without getting up. "He's become immortal. we can't win."

"I've gained a new power in place of Geass." said the Emperor interrupting Kamina and Lelouch. "A Power that goes far beyond. Now behold, as I show you both the true nature of this world.

Kamina blacked out as though he were simply turned off like a light. As he slowly opened his eyes he noticed he wasn't where he was before. He looked around and noticed Giant gears all around him and in front of him was Lelouch and the Emperor. Kamina tried to move only to realize he couldn't. His hands were stretched out to his sides and bound to an unmoving gear by what appeared to be shackles of light. "What the Hell is this!" Yelled Kamina in frustration.

Lelouch turned around to look at him and the Emperor simply raised his head a little. "Ah, finally awake are we." said the Emperor in a mocking fashion. "My son and I were just chatting. Sorry for tying you up, but I didn't think you'd let me speak and be heard otherwise."

"The only thing I want to hear from you is your girlish screams as I beat your face in!" Kamina replied with a murderous look on his face.

"As reckless as ever I see." Answered the Emperor unfazed by his threats.

"Charles," said a familiar voice as two gears parted. Kamina saw as C.C walked through. "Playtime is over. There's nothing in it for me now, no value in the games anymore."

"C.C" said Lelouch in surprise.

"You don't have to cajole him like this to get me here." continued C.C "I already exist in this realm."

"True enough C.C." said the Emperor. "In that case, I shall grant your wish."

"Wish?" said Kamina with confusion. "What wish."

"Lelouch, It's time you knew the conditions of our contract." Said C.C facing away from Lelouch "And what I desire." A few moments passed before C.C looked at Lelouch and continued. "My wish is to die.

"TO DIE!" shouted Kamina in surprise. "Why the hell would you want to die?"

"Its providence." replied C.C. "A boundary. Only when its finite can we call it life."

"That's wrong." answered Lelouch with anger. "We call it life because we feel it."

"Same thing." replied C.C. "There is no life without death."

"Thats bullshit!" Shouted Kamina. "We don't live just to die. We live so we can live and enjoy life to the fullest."

"But life without death is nothing but random events, and accumulations." said C.C. "You can't call that life." Kamina wasn't sure what to say. "Lelouch, if you have a reason for living, then you have to kill me. Do that and you'll be Charles's equal, you'll finally be able to beat him."

"Screw that!" yelled Kamina struggling against his restraints. "I'll beat him right now!"

Charles smiled. "You waste your efforts Kamina. You'll never be able to break those restraints.

Suddenly there was a cracking sound and the restraint on his right arm started cracking. and shortly after the left started to crack as well.

Charles smile faded to a look of fear. "That's impossible!"

Kamina broke out of his right shackle first and then his left. as he hit the ground he started running at the Emperor. Charles heald out his hand with the geass symbol in defence, but Kamina simply knocked it aside and then with all his might punched Charles right in face so hard it looked like his skull caved in. Charles flew backwards and hit what seemed like an invisible wall. From where he impacted cracks began to spread and in only a few moments the whole room shattered and there was a blinding light everywhere, Kamina had to cover his eyes.

When Kamina finally took his hand away from his eyes he could see that he was on what looked like an old dirt road covered in fog.

Kamina heard someone from behind him speak. "Where am I?" Kamina looked behind him to see Lelouch.

"That's what I'd like to know." Replied Kamina in an almost sarcastic tone.

Lelouch suddenly looked surprised at something and Kamina turned to see a small child in ragged clothes and a chain around her leg. The child looked like she was about to fall over, so both Kamina and lelouch ran over to catch her. However, the child seemed to phase through them. Both Kamina and Lelouch stood dumbfounded for a moment before they heard a familiar voice behind them.

"It's no use." said the familiar voice. Kamina and Lelouch both turned around to see C.C. "These are all my memories, you can't interfere."

"C.C." said Kamina confused. "What is all this."

"I dont think thats C.C." replied Lelouch.

"Who are you two?" asked C.C. "Tell me."

"I'm Kamina. the best ass kicker in the world!" Shouted Kamina with confidence making Lelouch feel aquard.

"I'm Lelouch." Lelouch sounded almost sad. "I'm your…."

Lelouch didn't get to finish as the world started to change around them. Kamina realized they were in a building of some kind. He recognized it as a church. and in front of them was a nun on her knees with the same small girl from before lying in front of the nun.

"Do you have some reason to live, child?" said the nun.

"I don't know." Said the child that Kamina now believed was C.C. "I just don't want to die."

"Then let's make a contract." spoke the nun in an emotionless tone. Kamina also noticed that there was a symbol on the nuns forehead that looked like the one on the Emperor's hand. "I will give you a special power so you can survive. and in return, one day you will grant me a special wish. Do you swear that you'll do it."

"So is this…" said Lelouch

"It is.." interrupted C.C.

"Then that kid is…." said Kamina.

"She is.." C.C one again interrupted. "I swore to uphold that contract."

Suddenly the room began to change again. But, instead of seeing event they only saw still images, like painting of C.C at various points in her life. One where she getting food from people, one where she was surrounded by people at a picnic, one where she was dancing at a ball, and many more.

C.C explained that her geass was to make people love her because she wanted to be loved by someone. But, in the end love without limit was love without meaning. The only person she looked up to was the nun. C.C's geass didn't work on her so she would scold her for being trivial.

Suddenly there were at another event where C.C, now the same age and appearance as the one he knew, was back at the church nacked with the nun. C.C sat down and started to talk about how her geass was becoming a pain for her, though the nun didn't seem to be paying much attention.

"Then shall we end it." said the nun giving C.C a confused look. "I need someone to take my place. Someone with a geass that's exceptionally strong, so eternity can finally end for me. Can you imagine the agony? The hell of living on and on for eternity?"

"What are you talking about?" said a confused C.C.

Suddenly the nun had a psychotic look on her face. "I'm sorry, dear! I'm afraid I tricked you!"

The whole room went red and no one could see. When they did see again they saw C.C covered in blood and the nun lying dead on the ground.

"She had just pretended to be friends with me right from the start. "Explained C.C. "I was a tool, a way from her to end her life. That is all."

When Kamina finally regained his senses he realized that they were in what looked like a huge art gallery. "Man," said Kamina. "That was a dick move."

"You two are not in here." said C.C with confusion. "That's means your not from my past. You're both real people."

"Am I?' Lelouch sounded confused. "I couldn't really say."

"I wonder if you two are very important to me," said C.C.

"I don't know about that?" said Kamina.

"That's impossible." said Lelouch immediately after Kamina.

"Oh," C.C sounded almost disappointed. "The fact you were sent here means I once tried to save you from something, or someone."

Kamina opened his eyes and found that he was back in Gurren Lagann 2's cockpit at the bottom of the staries where they started..

"The people who hated me, the ones who were kind to me. All of them eventually vanished into the flow of time." Kamina looked and saw C.C at the top of the stairs with the Emperor.

"But now, your tormented days." said the Emperor ominously said.

"Yes. They're over now. My long journey ends here."

"C.C!" shouted Kamina and Lelouch at the same time from their Knightmares. Surprising both C.C and the Emperor.

"You two have opened it." said the Emperor in surprise. "The Thought Elevator."

"I see." said Lelouch. This realm is itself a system for interfering with thought."

Suddenly both of their Knightmares were covered with strange floating metal pyramid things.

"Soon it will be over." said the Emperor. "I must admit I'm impressed. I thought my son might be able to open The Thought Elevator, but not you Kamina. Your shere willpower it truly staggering. No matter, you both sit where you are and watch."

Kamina looked and saw C.C and the Emperor in a stance that looked more like they were about to dance.

"Stop it!" shouted Lelouch. "Why C.C, Why didn't you make me take your place? You could of had your death that way. Forcing me into your hell of eternal life."

"Are you seriously ok with this?" yelled Kamina. "You really want to die like this. Like a scared little girl. You keep talking about how death is your wish. If that's the case, shouldn't you be smiling when you die." Kamina could tell that C.C was starting to struggle. "I know when I die I want to have a smile on my face, knowing I had no regrets."

"He's right." said Lelouch amazed that those words came out of his mouth. "I promise you the smile you never had. Please!"

Suddenly C.C pushed the Emperor away and ran over to a console that came out of the ground. A moment later the things overing Kamina and Lelouch's Knightmares came off,

"Hell Yeah!" Shouted Kamina as he took to the sky. "Come on Lelouch, let's trash this place!" Kamina then fired the slash harkens from Gurren Laggan 2 and they both hit a stone pillar. Lelouch fired Hadren blast at the pillars as well. before long the whole place seemed to be collapsing.

After one large bang Kamina and Lelouch saw C.C falling. Kamina started yelling commands. "Lelouch, Go get C.C. I'll get the Emperor." Lelouch didn't say a word. He just flew towards C.C. Kamina flew towards the Emperor, still standing where he was after C.C pushed him away like a bad date. "I got you you son of a bitch." Said Kamina with a smirk. However, just as he was close there was another explosion between Kamina and the Emperor. The debris blocked Kamina's view for a moment, but when he looked back the Emperor was gone. "Where the hell did he go?" Asked Kamina to himself.

"Kamina!" shouted Lelouch from behind. "Do you have the Emperor?"

"No." replied Kamina. "He just vanished."

"Forget him." Said Lelouch. "He probably fell. We don't have time, we need to go."

Kamina hated not knowing where the Emperor was, but had to take Lelouch's word for it. There wasn't anything left of that platform but dust a rubble. If the Emperor was here he's gone now. Kamina reluctantly turned around and followed Lelouch.

A few minutes later they left that freakish place and were back in the facility. Lelouch put C.C on the ground and got out of his Knightmare. Kamina did the same.

"She gonna be alright?" Asked Kamina as Lelouch kneeled down next to C.C.

"She wont die, obviously." replied Lelouch.

"Good!" Said Kamina with an angry tone. "Now you got some explaining to do. What the hell did I see when I got here! That didn't look like any battle, It was a massacre."

Lelouch then got an angry expression on his face. "I had to you idiot! This facility was producing Geass user to use against us."

"That's not an excuse!" shouted Kamina. "These people weren't even fighting back!|

"If even one of those scientists escaped they could have rebuilt this facility. I had to insure that no one was left to do that."

"It's still not right."

Both Kamina and Lelouch's attention were interrupted when they noticed C.C open here eyes. Though she looked scared.

"Its okay C.C." Said Lelouc in a much softer tone. "I've already contacted Rolo. We'll use him to get out of here."

C.C sat up. "Who are you sir?" She asked with confusion.

"What are you saying?" said Lelouch equally as confused.

C.C back away in fear. "Are you my new master?"

"Master?" Said Kamina in confusion.

C.C was shaking as though she were cold, or afraid. "I can clean, and prepare food for meal. I can also read a little and count to twenty."

Kamina kneeled down next to Lelouch and whispered in his ear. "Do you have any idea what is going on?"

"No." replied Lelouch in a scared tone.

"That's a problem." said Kamina.

Sorry for the delay. As always life gets in the way of things. This chapter was particularly hard to write because not much changed from the original source material. A lot of lines were even copied word for word because I don't want much of this event to change because of what I have planned in the future. I hope you enjoy this chapter and I will try to work on the next one. Be advised the next one will alose tale a while as I don't have as much free time as I used to.
