Jeff had stayed the night at Cody's house and because they watched the Star Wars marathon till the end they slept late, making them late for school. Not like this hadn't happened before but being late in a school with a nasty principle wasn't a very good idea.

Jeff waved goodbye to Cody before heading towards his first class: Study Hall. The perfect class to relax his rapid beating heart, talk with friends and finish that doodle he started in math class. He shoved his hands into his coat pockets, still feeling the warm palm pressed against his not too long ago.

The bell rang just as Jeff slipped into the doorway and he let out a sigh of relief before heading towards his seat in the back.

"Hey Jeff where'd ya been?" Ed asked as he passed, turning in his seat to watch him. "I didn't see you and Cody in the hall today."

Jeff shrugged his backpack off. "Oh you know we just stayed up late again watching tv," he replied once he sat down.

"Again? What are you guys watching that's worth loosing sleep over?" Max inquired with a raised brow.

"Star Wars." Lisa commented from behind her coffee cup, eyelids lowered slyly.

"Haven't you guys watched every episode yet?" Isaac questioned with wide eyes. "You must be bored of it by now!"

Max smirked. "Are you bored of rewatching anime yet?"

"Shut it, metal head."

"It was for a new Star Wars show I'll have you know," Jeff huffed and took off his coat, hanging it on the back of his chair before taking out his notebook to start where he left off on his doodle.

He flipped to the page and started to put pencil to paper when he noticed the lack of talking, besides the other kids in the class. Lifting his gaze up he noticed his friends were staring at him.

Jeff blinked from under his wooly hair. "What?"

"Dude isn't that Cody's shirt?" Max asked as a grin tugged at his lips.

"Bet Cody thought you looked cute," Lisa teased as everyone snickered around him.

Jeff blinked again before looking down, his cheeks suddenly turning a cherry red at the realization. They were in such a rush to be not be late and get yelled at Cody's mom, Jeff pulled on the first thing he could find. And that had hat to be Cody's black short-sleeved hooded sweatshirt. How did they not notice that? He sunk low in his seat and tugged the hood over his head in hopes of hiding his red face.

"Aw c'mon we're just teasing!" Isaac exclaimed as the laughter died down.

"Yeah I'm sure Cody won't mind," Ed reassured with a pat to his head.

The rest of the class was filled with excited chatter about what new game their gym teacher would come up with next. Jeff listened as he doodle in his notebook, occasionally glancing up from the page to see if anyone was looking as he pulled the sweatshirt up and took in the smell of his best friend. Maybe being late wasn't so bad after all.
