Ever since Cole was young, he had always felt in control. He always kept a level head, and a steady heart, like the solid rock in which he represented. He was solid in his decisions that he made, he never doubted himself as a person, and never doubted himself as a protector. He was always strong, no matter what obstacle happened to stand in his way. It was part of who he was, and he had come to be known as the master of earth because of it. It is why it was decided long ago that he would be the leader. Because he was the rock in which the group of friends had come to stand on. He was the person that everyone come to when things went terribly wrong. But like all rock, over time it cracks. Over time it erodes away, and lava bubbles up through the cracks, and the rock melts, taking its strength with it. He could not control what was happening. It was breaking him, slowly chipping off pieces, as the lava bubbled up through the cracks. And Cole felt as if he was breaking. He could not control the situation that Kai had found himself in. Everything was moving so fast and in such a way, that it made him feel dizzy. His friend was hurting, and he couldn't do anything about it! And now a girl in which he had never even met just risked her life to save him, and he couldn't control any of it!
Seika was the daughter of the man that just shot her. As she lay there, her eyes locked onto Cole's. They were black, like the midnight colored strands of hair that covered them. But they were kind. They were filled with a strength that only someone that had been through trials and tribulations could have. And as she lay there bleeding, from the single gunshot, from the father she once adored inflicted on her, she felt at peace. She did not regret stepping in front of this strange man, with his olive skin, mysterious eyes, and midnight hair. She did not regret getting out of the car parked some ways away from here, that he father told her to stay in. As the crimson liquid flowed from her shoulder onto the cold, hard floor, she felt it rush to her cheeks. How could she be blushing at a time like this! But she kept her eyes on this man. He was so beautiful that it made her heart throb, and her head hurt. Or maybe that was just because of the blood loss.
As she kept her eyes on this beautiful man, she heard the voices of her cousin, Kai. Her eyes slowly wandered over to where his was, hesitantly. She didn't want to take her eyes off the raven-like man. His green eyes were concerned. They were filled with tears.. She didn't recognize them. His eyes were always filled with determination. With a fire that could never be extinguished. But now as she gazed into them, as the tears escaped them and ran down his pale cheek, she could see that the fire had been diminished to a ember. The eyes belonged to a man that she did not know. They belonged to a hollowed-out soul, that had been broken beyond repair. Someone that had seen terrors, of things so horrible he could not recover. They belonged to someone lost. Someone... gone.
He moved his trembling mouth to say something, but she could not quite make out the words. Her ears rung like the bell in the center of the town, to represent each hour that had past. She moved her eyes back, as her head continued to spin, her ears rung, and her vision grey darker. The man was gone. She turned her head to find him, and she met the eyes of her father, Kai's uncle. His piercing blue eyes were filled with regret for what he did to his daughter. They were also filled with something more sinister. They were filled with fire, but not the fire that she had come to know. They were not filled with the fire, like in her Uncle's, Kai's dad, and Kai's. It was not the fire that brought light and warmth, and a feeling of protection, like theirs. It was a fire of destruction, and of death. A fire that was fueled by rage, and jealously. A fire that destroyed everything and everyone, and one no one could stop, or extinguished.
There he was! The beautiful boy. The boy that held her father's arms behind his back, as his bound his murderous hands together. Their eyes met again, and she smiled slightly.

When Kai was a young boy, he adored his father. He was the local blacksmith, and everyone from all villages came to him for weapons. Generals from far away places came, just to get a look at the weapons that he created. His brother, another blacksmith, grew jealous. His brother had always been the one that people looked up to. His father had always found favor in his younger brother, perhaps because of the different fires within them. Ray was a kind man, that people came to for any trouble. While Hakai was quiet and kept to himself. When his brother was promoted, and became the blacksmith of the protectors of ninjago, his brother game to hate him. And the smoldering ember in his heart, burst to full fire. His hatred and rage became unbearable, and on the night of Kai's 9th birthday, Hakai killed his father in a murderous rage, when he set the house ablaze. When he got the first chance, he left and took Nya with him, and opened his own blacksmith shop, and Sensai and Kai's destiny soon followed after that. "Sekai! Sekai!" Kai yelled as he pressed down on the wound that his Uncle had given his daughter. This was all his fault. All his fault. He shouldn't have been rescued from that stupid place! He felt the guilt slowly creep into his heart as his cousin bled to death by the gun that had originally been meant for him. The burden in which he had carried his whole life, was now being placed on the shoulders of someone else.
Sekai felt no pain as she looked at the man with the kind eyes. As her vision started fading, and she began to feel colder...she knew she was dying. But it was ok. She had saved the life of another. She died heroically, just as she always dreamed to. Her piercing blue eyes slowly started to fade, as her ocean toned irises slowly got lost in the waves. She felt the lapping waves pull her under, as her eyes slowly fell shut, as she sunk deeper and deeper into the sea.
