Sunlight came streaming through the window of Skye and Melinda's shared bedroom. Melinda opened her eyes slowly, shielding them from the light. She turned to her side and saw Skye facing her, peacefully sleeping. Gently, she leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Five more minutes," Skye groaned.

Melinda chuckled as she pushed the stray hairs out of Skye's face. "Anything for you," she whispered.

Skye smiled and scooted closer until her head was leaning against Melinda's chest. Melinda drew aimless circles on Skye's back, enjoying the feeling of her skin. "I wish we could just stay here forever," Skye murmured.

"But if we did that, we would never have stopped your mother from committing mass genocide," Melinda reminded her.

Skye smiled. Melinda loved Skye's smile. It was one of the cutest things she had ever seen. "You're right," Skye said with a sigh. "We have responsibilities." She propped herself up on her elbows. "Can I get your opinion on something?"

"Of course," Melinda replied, sitting up.

Skye hesitated for a moment. "I'm thinking about going by my birth name, Daisy," she said. "What do you think?"

Melinda considered the question for a moment. "Well, it is your name," she responded. "I think that's a perfectly natural feeling."

"But I've been Skye for so long," Skye said. "I know her. I don't know who Daisy is."

Melinda reached out and grabbed Skye's hand. "Skye, Daisy... maybe the names have special meanings to you, but it doesn't change who you are. What matters is what's in your heart, and no name change is going to change that."

Skye sat up and ran her fingers through her hair. "You're right," she said. "You're always right. It's decided then. I am now Daisy Johnson."

The other agent smiled and leaned in to kiss Daisy. No matter how often she did it, Melinda never got tired of the way Daisy's lips felt against her. It always made her stomach warm, which spread throughout the rest of her body.

"I love you, Daisy," she whispered.

"I love you too," Daisy responded.

Melinda wasn't one to normally believe in things like fate, but from the moment Daisy had walked into her life, Melinda felt that she was the one destined to help her heal from her past trauma. It just couldn't be a coincidence. She smiled as Daisy got up and slowly started to get dressed. "I guess we got work to do," Melinda commented.

"There's always work to do," Daisy replied with a smile.

And that, Melinda thought to herself, was why this world needed more agents like Daisy Johnson.
