Summary- When Bruce gets leukemia it's up to Dick to take care of his younger siblings. But can he handle everything? Or will it drag him to the ground?

"Alright Jay here's your lunch and stay out of trouble, Tim here's your jacket, Damien your homework, Steph your science project and I will be there at one, Cass permission slip for tomorrow, and Helena here is your science notebook," Dick said.

It was a typical morning in the Wayne household, and all seven siblings were ready to start the day.

Dick Grayson, age seventeen, had taken the responsibility of raising his six siblings six months ago after Bruce Wayne, their adoptive father, had been diagnosed with Leukemia.

The oldest sibling had dropped out of school the moment it was clear his guardian was struggling with continuing his normal routine and had taken over the role as a parent and Wayne Enterprises as well.

Bruce hadn't been happy about Dick dropping out of school behind his back, but deep down he knew his son meant well. He didn't deserve his eldest kid, he didn't deserve all seven of his kids really.

Jason Todd, age fifteen, who Bruce had been at odds with since being brought back to life, had moved back into the manor the moment he was diagnosed with cancer and put differences aside for the time being.

Cassandra Cain, age fifteen, spent every second she could by Bruce's side. The teen checked in on her father every hour if he was sleeping and had taken the role of being his protector every night, despite Dick's protest that she needed to rest herself.

Stephanie Brown, age fourteen, had made Bruce smile even on his bad days, and she had made herself his entertainment. Every day she would tell him a different joke and made up puns on a daily basis.

Tim Drake, age thirteen, had made sure his father figure was always informed about the team, league, and his company at nine pm if he was awake, and would often fall asleep with Bruce.

Damien Wayne, age ten, snuck into his father's room when no one else was inside and sat by his side without saying a word. Bruce would smile when he saw his youngest son and not once saw him without a book of some sort.

Helena Wayne, age seven, still wasn't aware of what was going on with her father but she did everything she could to make him happy. On the nights she was at the manor, Bruce and she would color and watch cartoons until both of them went to sleep.

" Don't forget Selina is picking up Helena bird brain," Jason said as he got in the front seat.

" I do not see the need for me to attend school as I am highly more intelligent than all those other idiots," Damien said as he buckled up and Dick sighed.

" Bruce wants you to have a normal life, and school will be good for you. You'll make friends-"

" Allies would be good."

" - And hopefully you'll find something you're interested in."

Damien didn't reply, and Dick dropped off Helena at Gotham Elementary first, smiling as the seven-year-old ran to her friends. He looked in his mirror and saw all his siblings had headphones in, Tim's blasting the loudest and smirked as Cass was dancing in her seat.

" Alright, I've got work in Bludhaven starting at six after Wayne Enterprises so I won't be home till six am when you're getting up. Barbra and Wally should be at the house around six thirty, and I'll leave money for dinner before I go. Barry'll be there around nine when you leave for patrol and Artemis has agreed to take Tim, Steph, and Damien to Bludhaven tonight while the rest of you have Gotham with Barbra." Dick said as he pulled up to Gotham Academy.

" You haven't let us patrol without you in two months. Why the sudden change." Jason asked with a raised eyebrow.

" Is it because Barbra called you a helicopter parent?" Tim piped up as he unbuckled and slung his bookbag across his shoulder.

" I am not a helicopter parent, and no that's why. I just think it's time for Gotham to know that even though Batman is off-world, we're still around."

" Fair enough," Steph said, " Anything else?"

" Your curfew is midnight and if I find one of you out passed that you're grounded for a month got it."

" Yup, got it, yeah, understood. Yes, Grayson." Everyone answered

" Be good, and I'll see you later. Love you."

" Love you too, goodbye bird brain, goodbye Grayson, later loser. See ya!"

Dick watched Steph grab her science project, the solar system that they stayed up doing until three am, out of the trunk and she gave him a small wave.

He waved back and headed back to the manor, his mind drifting to the day the bat family found out Bruce had cancer.

Six Months Ago

"Bruce are you alright?" Dick asked as he saw him stand up and hold onto the table for support.

"I'm fine," Bruce said before letting go of the table and took one step before collapsing.

"Bruce!" All six of his children shouted, and Dick called 911.

"Hello, my father Bruce Wayne just collapsed. "No, I don't know what caused it. Does he take anything? No. Thank you please hurry."

A few minutes later an ambulance arrived and got Bruce on a gurney.

"Two of you can come in." A paramedic said.

"Jason and Steph go." Dick and his siblings nodded while Dick got in his car with the rest of his family, calling Barry in the process.

" Dick? What's happening: are you alright." Barry asked concerned

"Bruce just went to the to hospital. He just collapsed and I-"

" Kid I need you to take a breath for me okay? It's going to be alright."

Dick took a deep breath, and he could see how scared his siblings were.

" Thanks, Uncle Barry, I'll call you later," Dick said

"Anything time kid."

Dick hung up and saw Tim's hands shaking.

" Tim-" Dick started.

"Is Bruce going be okay," Tim blurted

"He has to be."

" What if he isn't?" Cass asked, her voice trembling

Dick didn't answer, and a few days later, Bruce was announced to have cancer. Leukemia to be exact and Dick knew at that moment to do whatever he had to do for his family. He got his GED against everyone's wishes, was still a cop in Bludhaven, took over Wayne Enterprises, and even insisted he could patrol Gotham and Bludhaven.

Present

" This would be so much easier with you Alfred," Dick said with a sigh as he got out of the car.

Alfred had sadly left the Wayne family two months before Bruce's cancer was discovered and the bats were still slowly getting used to the butler not being around.

A heart attack had caused his death, and it had taken everyone about a month to fully accept Alfred wasn't coming home.

Dick shook his head as he tried to refocus and was surprised to see Clark reading a newspaper at the table with a cup of coffee.

" Uncle Clark?" Dick asked, " What are you doing here?"

" Thought you could use our help," Barry said as he ran down the stairs.

" Who else is here?"

" Diana."

Dick hummed in response, and he raised an eyebrow as both heroes kept staring at him.

" When was the last time you slept," Clark asked

" I got to get to work, just came back to check on B but seems you've got it covered," Dick replied and grabbed an apple from the table bowl, " Tell Wally training starts at three thirty, not four for me."

" Kid-"

" Got to go. Bye!"

Dick shut the door before he heard a response and hoped his siblings wouldn't get into trouble until after his morning meetings.

Gotham Academy

" Look it's another one of Wayne's pathetic children." Quinn snickered as he walked past Steph in the hallway.

Quinn Freeman. Fourteen and the son of Harold Freeman, who just so happened to own a big company like Wayne Enterprises and struck a four billion deal with Dick last month.

" Go screw yourself, Quinn." Stephanie snapped and stopped dead in her tracks at what he said next.

" I hope you die soon just like your father."

Steph whipped around faster than anyone could blink and was about to slap Quinn while he laughed until Tim came out of nowhere and punched him in the face, the teen falling to the floor.

" Talk about my father or come near any of my siblings again Quinn and I will end you." Tim snapped

" Tim Drake! Quinn Freeman! My office now!" Principle Pines shouted

" Nice job replacement," Jason said with a smirk and high fived his brother as he passed him in the hallway.

Tim smiled as Cass gave him a thumbs up and Damien, to his slight surprise was smirking like an idiot.

The teen was sitting on a chair outside the office rubbing his knuckles when the door leading to the office waiting area opened to reveal a very frazzled Dick Grayson.

" Hey Dick," Tim said nervously and waved.

" You couldn't have waited till noon to slap that bastard?" Dick said as he sat down next to his brother, and Tim couldn't help but laugh a little, " Look Steph filled me in, and you're not grounded."

" I'm not? Why?"

" Do you want me to ground you?"

" No! I'm just surprised. I made you leave a meeting an-"

" Tim, it's just a meeting, and if I'm honest, I wasn't really listening; I always record them and listen later, CEO isn't my kind of thing. Honestly, I'm not sure how Bruce made it look so easy."

" He had you."

Dick smiled and stood up as Harold and Quinn stepped out of the office, both looking unpleased.

" Mr. Grayson," Harold said and put on a fake smile.

" Cut the bullshit, Harold," Dick said, and Tim was surprised how fast his guardian could change moods " The deal is off, and nothing will change my mind. So run back to your company with your tail between your legs, and explain how you lost our four billion dollar deal. Have a nice day Mr. Freeman."

Harold's face turned red as Dick finished with a smile and he pushed his son out the door, Tim laughing the moment they were out of sight.

" That was amazing," Tim said with a smile.

" Nobody messes with my family and gets away with it," Dick said with a wink and both siblings entered the office.

" Mr. Grayson it's nice to see you again. I just wish it was under different circumstances." Pines said as she shook the teen's hand

" You and me both," Dick said, and Tim could see how forced the smile was.

" So as you know, your brother got into a fight with Quinn during passing periods, and from my understanding, Tim started the fight after Quinn said some unacceptable things to your younger sister Stephanie."

Tim squirmed in his seat as Dick glanced at him and god why did his older brother have to act like Bruce?

" Since Tim threw the first punch, I have no choice but to suspend him for three days and give him detention for one week after he returns Monday. Understood?"

" Yes, ma'am," Tim said

" Then you two are free to leave, and I hope next time we meet it isn't in my office."

" Likewise. Have a good afternoon Mrs. Pines." Dick said as he stood up with Tim.

" You too Mr. Grayson."

" Since I don't have school tomorrow now-" Tim started as they stepped outside.

" Curfew is still midnight Timmy."

" Come on Dick! I'll be up all night at the computer anyway."

" If I didn't work tonight, I would say yes, but since I won't be with you, the final answer is no."

" Fine." Tim huffed and hopped in the front seat of the car, putting on the radio before buckling.

" Alright out with it or were staying in this parking lot."

" It's stupid," Tim whispered and looked out the window.

" Nothing you tell me is stupid Tim."

" You're careful out in the field as a cop right?"

" Always, I've got you waiting for me at home, I'll always come back."

" I can't-I can't handle it if I lo-"

" Hey look at me," Dick said softly and saw tears in Tim's eyes as the bat turned away from the window, " You're not going to lose me okay? I promise you that Timmy. I'm going not anywhere for a long time."

Tim only nodded in response and Dick put a hand on his shoulder.

" If it makes you feel better, you can patrol Bludhaven tonight by yourself at four am till I get off," Dick said and smiled as Tim's face lit up.

" Really?" Tim asked, eyes full of hope.

" Really."

" Thank you! I won't let you down, Dick!"

Tim then threw himself into his older brother's arms, and Dick couldn't help but laugh.

" Just promise me you'll sleep inbetween patrols alright? Just because you don't have to get up early doesn't mean you get a sleep pass." Dick said as Tim pulled away.

" Will do boss man."

Dick rolled his eyes at the nickname and had just put the car in reverse when his phone started ringing.

" Hello?"

" Mr. Grayson?"

" Mrs. Pines? Did I forget something in your office?" Dick asked and made sure he had his wallet and house keys.

" No no you didn't forget anything it's just-"

" Jason?"

" I apologize, Mr. Grayson, I know you're very busy running Mr. Wayne's company."

" I'll be right there. Thank you."

" Don't you love being responsible," Tim said with a smirk and Dick sent him his best bat glare.

Today was going to be so much fun.
