Author's Note: This struck me a few nights ago and I was struck by this missed opportunity in the show. It didn't turn out quite how I planned, but I hope you enjoy. And please review.

Argh!

Lucas was attending the newest body to enter the morgue, readying it of Henry as he was finishing the forms for Captain Rick Rasmussen. Since the captain had joined their chilled visitors his mind had been filled with nautical and pirate cliches. One in particular was itching to pass his lips, despite the ban that had been placed on such statements.

Nevertheless the irony and utter perfection of this remark could not be resisted. So that when Henry came back into the morgue Lucas took the opportunity.

Nonchalantly as his excited anticipation would allow he met the doctor and began the set up. "Hey doc."

"Yes, Lucas?"

"Wasn't there a pirate named Henry Morgan?"

Henry stiffened noticeably, he knew where this might be going and was determined to avoid it. "Not a pirate, no, a privateer. Do learn the distinction, Lucas." He deflected, turning to the new body.

Slightly surprised as to how easily the doctor had thrown off the conversation he had planned by effectively ending it, Luca attempted to reconstruct it via Henry's own means. "What is the difference, exactly?"

Sighing in exasperation, Henry put down the knife he had been about to use and turned to face his assistant, a professorial look of disappointment on his face and a hint of defensiveness in his voice. "Pirates are criminals who plunder for gain. Privateering is sanctioned and requested by the governing power as a means of defending the nation."

It struck Lucas that the only difference was that the latter had the advantage of authorization. Letting this pass, he continued. "Is this privateer your namesake, an ancestor maybe?"

Thoroughly trapped in the conversation he had tried to avoid, he decided to turn this to his advantage. With one last attempt to halt its continuation, he would teach Lucas a valuable lesson in observation. "The privateer Henry Morgan died childless. And you do realize that both Henry and Morgan are common names, yes?"

"Well...yeah... I-I guess that's true." Lucas deflated as he stammered out the reply.

"Thus assumptions concerning relation cannot be made based on a name. Infact, assumptions should be avoided as a general rule." Lucas was silent. He appeared so pitiably disheartened. Henry knew that his admonishments had been sufficient for the young man's understanding of the dangers of assumptions. His expression softened and he had mercy on the poor boy. "However," Lucas perked at the hopeful word, "in this particular case you are not entirely mistaken. Sir Henry Morgan is indeed my namesake. And though as I said he was childless, I am descended from the sixth son of his uncle, Sir Thomas Morgan."

"That's so cool! You're related to a pirate- privateer, sorry! " The young man exclaimed, eyes alight, nearly jumping up and down for excitement.

"Lucas." Henry said calmly, trying to reign in his over excited assistant. Lucas took a deep breath and regained his composure. "Would you kindly assist me with our guest?" Henry invited.

"Yeah, 'course." He answered, coming to the table. The rest of the day went with no mention of the revelation, except for a satisfied smile that remained on Lucas' face. No mention that is until the end of the work day, as they were both preparing to leave, when Jo entered to say goodnight, and likely check up on Henry. Upon seeing her, Lucas' excitement reignited. "Detective Martinez, guess what!" He reached her and quickly whispered something in her ear before fleeing the scene.

After he had gone, Jo looked at Henry with a curious look. "Really?"
