What you are about to hear is a story of cruelty and darkness. So if you prefer a happy tale of sunshine and unicorns, get rid of this book now. Because this story is that of zombies.

Everything began July 27th, 1813. During the War of 1812, there was a scientist by the name of Samuel Smithson. He worked for the United States, developing the next generation of medical treatment. Or, at least, that is what the government paid him to do. Actually, he was conducting the most horrendous experiments. Many of which were on soldier that had been wounded on the battlefield. Two such men were Thomas Allen and Henry Lewis. The madman fill their bodies with a number of chemicals and diseases. Resulting in the first two zombies in existence.

Fortunately, the government discovered Smithson's inhuman experiments. Under the orders of the President, over fifty troops stormed his laboratory and burned it to the ground. The madman died with his experiments. However, before the flames were started, a soldier discovered the two zombies and, without thinking, released them from their cages. When he realized they could move and speak but had no pulse or body heat, he panicked. He fired bullets into them with no effect. They quickly knocked him out and ran before more soldiers arrived. These two zombies escaped into the woods. Henry quickly realized if they were to survive, they had to isolate themselves from society, at least until they fully understood what they had become. Thomas refused to listen. He went back to his village to see his wife. Once she discovered his condition, he quickly began to fear and hate him. If not for Henry, Thomas would have been burned at the stake.

That day, something changed in Thomas. Something wicked was born inside of him. The following years were peaceful. The two of them bonded; as closely as brothers would. They went to New York and started working as gravediggers. As time went on, two things became clear. In their new state of existence, they did not age and they needed a steady diet of human brains to keep their sanity. When either of them went too long without eating a brain, they became angrier and dumber. When they did eat brains, there was a side-effect. They obtained some of the memories and personality traits of the person whose brain they ate. Despite this, they lived peacefully for nearly a decade.

Unfortunately, the good times eventually came to an end. This happened when Henry discovered Thomas had resumed the mad doctors experiments. He was trying to recreate the zombie formula. When Henry asked him why, he said it was to create his own country. A great kingdom where zombies would rule and humans would be livestock. Refusing to allow such a horrible and insane dream to become reality, Henry destroyed his former friend's notes and inprogress experiments. Then Thomas tried to kill him. However, it was revealed that Henry was a different kind of zombie than Thomas. When he became angry, it caused some sort of reaction in his body. Most of his thoughts were blocked and he turned into a beast. His strength must have increased ten-fold. He nearly killed Thomas, but he an escape route ready and he managed to get away from Henry.

Ever since then, Henry has been hunting him. The hunt has continued for the past two hundred years. Leading to modern day Chicago.
