You're having a great time, hanging out with your, well you're not sure what Max is to you right now but it's good to have her back.

You're having a great time hanging out with Max and shooting bottles. She tells you to shoot a wheel rim on your left and you oblige. The bullet pings off and shatters the next bottle.

"Hella yes!" You exclaim. Max smiles softly then suggests you take a shot at the junker. You grim. Sounds fun. You level your gun at the junker. "I need a target" you tease.

Suddenly her breathing is rough and clipped. You don't understand why and before you can ask she's forcing her way into your arms and clinging to you. She sniffles and you can feel her starting to cry.

"Max? Max what's wrong?" She's starting to scare you and you don't have a single clue as to why. She's shaking and whimpering your name. Her hand comes up and presses against the centre of your chest startling you.

You don't know what to do so you hug her. She shakes and you wait for her to calm down enough to talk to you. She's still crying and clinging to you like a child so you carefully rub her back and hold her to you.

Slowly she calms down but she keeps her hand pressed firmly to your heart. She wipes furiously at her eyes, her cheeks tinted pink. You cup her cheek and wipe a few stray tears away. Her blush deepens but she doesn't move away.

"Okay then, what the hell was that?" You ask bluntly. She sniffles and draws her sleeve under her nose.

"I told you to shoot the bumper and the bullet bounced back and you got shot." She taps your chest and you understand why she's had her palm there, to feel your heart. "It was scary seeing you get shot again and bleeding out."

You don't know what to say so you just hug her tighter. She sniffles once more before stepping away and blushing. "Sorry. It was just really hard to watch you get shot again."

You shrug it off and smile more for her than out of any sense of joy. "Yeah but I'm fine now look at me!" You strike a silly pose and flex and it's worth it because she giggles and smiles again. "Now super Max, let's take down the rest of these bottles!"

She looks nervous but nods and you turn back to to the car and level the gun Again. You expect they'll be a few more weird incidents with Max's power but you hope none of them make max that upset again. Whatever your relationship right now, you hate seeing her cry, you always have and always will.
