Arthor's note I am sorry for the lack of update. When I started this story, I did not really have a plan or a part 2. I just a had a need to or an idea to write down an idea for a Xander story. Life got busy as it does but also, I did not really have a part two until recently. Here is part two I hope you it.

She is far too crazy for her own good.

Faith is riding him for all his worth it. He can barely keep up with her, but he loves a challenge like this. She moans as she looks at him and he would love to know what she is thinking. Is she thinking of him, another guy or another place totally different than here? He wishes he could read her mind like what Buffy could do a month ago.

She pushes down hard, and he grunts holding her sides.

Note to self-less thinking when they are doing this.

Xander Harris walked up to Sunnydale High trying to make sure that he was on time for once. School maybe finishing soon for him and his class but that rules are rules at least for now only he was stopped by Anya the once vengeance demon now the now lowly high school student. In between complaining about having no powers and describing all men as evil she asked him to be her date to the prom. As sale pitches go it was original and given that Xander's mother spent all day watching the shopping channel he had heard a few. How did he find himself in these spots? One minute he is walking to school next a 1000-year-old girl who hates men is asking him out. Anya looked at him for an answer and so he gave her one.

"Things are changing" He said out loud breaking the silence. Faith he found was a confusing mix of high energy and silence. There were times where she couldn't sit still, she would be dancing, twirling a pen in her hands or they would be… yeah, she had a lot of energy. But then other times she would be silent, staring blankly at tv or off into space. He longed to know what she was thinking in those times.

"Things always do" Faith mused turning to face him.

"What do you think will happen?" Xander asked her to turn to gaze at her.

"What with the Mayor and Buffy? The Mayor will destroy this town and everyone in it and I will be dancing on your graves with a smile on my face!" She said mockingly sweetly

"Or Buffy wins again and the Mayor gets killed, the town is saved and you…" Xander trailed off.

"And me what?" Faith asked him.

He didn't know what to say. All the pieces were moving into the place for the final showdown between the Mayor and Buffy. The Mayor had his box, Willow had stolen some files of his files so they could work out what his ultimate plan was. All leading up to one side winning and the other side losing.

Xander got up and started dressing he wanted to escape with her now he wanted to escape from her.

"And me what?" Faith kept pressing him getting up not caring about her nakedness. "What would you do if it came down to it?"

"Came down to what?" Xander asked her.

"You know what?" Faith pushed him.

"No, I don't. I don't understand what you are asking" Xander replied.

"Oh, forget it!" Faith said bitterly getting back into bed "You have your mask back on! Big dumb Xander to the world! Just run back to your friends and say something stupid!"

Big, dumb and stupid. He could do that, and he could be that. He had a lot of experience in that. That he could do. Face the idea of losing Faith and whatever he had… that scared him. He knew that Buffy and she were on a collision course and only one could win which meant death for the other.

"How long?" Buffy asked.

"Does it matter?" Xander looking away.

He knew this had been coming. It had been a nightmare of his for some time now. This conversation between him and them. Buffy, Willow, Angel, Giles, Oz and just for good measure Cordelia and Wesley were there for good measure. They had finally found out about his dirty little secret involving Faith. Took them long enough.

Apparently, Angel had seen him out one night and seen him going to Faith's apartment. Fair enough considering he had done the same thing and spied on Angel earlier in the year. So naturally Angel had told Buffy and Giles and all hell had broken lose. Here he was in the middle of library surrounded by all sides with nowhere to run.

"Yes, it does! Now tell me how long you been screwing Faith?" Buffy demanded.

"It's not like that!" Xander responded.

"Oh please! What is it love?!" Buffy snorted walking away Xander didn't reply to that, what was the point.

"What have you told her about our research with the Mayor?" Giles asked quietly.

"Nothing" Xander replied.

"Mr Giles is right! This is a serious breach of protocol!" Wesley stated stepping forward.

"We have protocols?" Xander rolled his eyes. This was unreal. Here they were talking about protocols and Giles kept all their information on the Mayor, what little there was in an unlocked filing cabinet marked 'Mayor info'.

"Xander…" Giles started "Nothing okay? Nothing to tell cause there is nothing we know" Xander muttered

"This is serious Xander!" Giles practically yelled at him slamming his hand on the table. "If you have revealed anything that could comprise us I will…" Giles didn't finish stopping himself from saying more but the intent was clear. Giles turned away moving away from Xander and back to were Wesley was standing.

"This is exactly way the slayer must work in secret!" Wesley said smugly to Giles. "Oh, shut up!" Giles retorted.

"Why do it?" Willow asked him. He looked at her and could see she was hurting and angry at all this.

"Why not!?" Xander simply muttered.

"You'll have to do better than that!" Buffy yelled at him.

"And what do you think I have been doing at night?!" Xander yelled back at her cutting her off. "While you are hanging out with Angel and Willow is with Oz what do you think I have been doing? Sitting waiting for you to call me just in case you need an errand run?"

"So poor Xander has been finally lonely and needed some slut for company" Cordelia spoke mockingly. "She is not a slut" Xander growled at her turning to face her. Cordelia that 1000 dollar smile "Oh

Xander burst into Faith's apartment and saw them standing apart. Buffy and Faith both turned to him.

"Get out of here" Buffy said turning back to Faith.

"No" Xander said "I'm not to ask again!" Buffy told him gritting her teeth.

"Then don't" Xander told her pulling out a gun. He aimed it at Buffy his heart racing.

"What the hell are you doing?" Buffy asked eyes raised.

"Jesus boytoy! I didn't know you had it in you!" Faith laughed. Xander glared at her and she quieten down waiting to see his next move. His eyes darted between the pair of them, his mind racing thinking of the last few years how did it get to this?

"I'm not letting you hurt her" Xander told Buffy trying to keep his voice calm. "You are killing her is not going to happen!"

Buffy's eyes darted between Xander, the gun and Faith. Inside she was seething wanted nothing more than to rid the world of Faith's smug smile that she was currently wearing and Xander's stupidity.

"You changed your tune from an hour ago" Buffy addressed Xander but kept her eyes on Faith. The dark slayer looked confused at Buffy's words. "What does she mean?" Faith asked turning to Xander.

"How do you think I found you Faith. Xander gave me your address!" Buffy kept on pushing. Faith was taking the bait her smugness given way to confusion and betrayal.

"You sold me out!?" Faith yelled at Xander who looked like a deer in head lights.

"No, I didn't I did it because…" Xander tried to explain but Faith cut him off "WHY?! Because you love me?!" Faith mocked him.

"I do!" Xander told her pleading. This was all a mess! when did his life become such a mess? He wanted nothing more than to step into a time machine and replay his life. Another shot, another chance to change things, anything than to be stuck here right now at this moment.

"He is so stupid he doesn't know what love is" Buffy told Faith. "He can't even understand what I am doing is saving the world!" Buffy said turning to Xander her eyes burning with hatred.

"Stopping Angelus last year was about saving the world this is about feeding the woman I love to your undead boyfriend just so he can live! I am never going to be okay with that!" Xander yelled gripping the gun enough to hurt.

His heart was racing. His back was covered in sweat. He just wanted this moment to end. He had been so caught up with living in the moment but now he wanted nothing more than to be in the past or the future.

"We just need more time to figure this all out!" Xander yelled at them.

"Angel doesn't have time!" Buffy cried.

To the day he dies Xander will never know who went for him first Faith or Buffy. Both were slayers, both had those slayer powers, and both could rip him from limb and limb. It could have been Buffy, or it could have been Faith he will never know. One second, he was pointing a gun at Buffy the next minute he was on the floor after getting the mother of all punches and blacking out while too blurry figures of Buffy and Faith started fighting each other. Then there was nothing but darkness.

x

He awoke to find himself on the floor.

His head was spinning but he forced himself awake and to open his eyes. The apartment was now a mess. His gun was nowhere to seen and the window overlooking the roof was now totally broken as if someone had crashed though it. Xander forced himself up slowly and tried to move toward it but there was no need.

Buffy emerged bruised and bloodied but stepped into the apartment looking at him with large eyes.

"Buffy!" He said "what happened? Where's Faith?" He looked past her but couldn't see Faith. He looked at Buffy for answers, but she said nothing. Then he saw her hands. They were covered in blood.

"What did you do?" Xander asked her.

She said nothing and walked past him. He dropped slowly back to the floor suddenly feeling very cold and alone. She said nothing as she left, and he could feel tears in his eyes.

X

He was numb to everything that had happened. Hospital, Buffy offering her blood to save Angel, Buffy quitting the council, Faith is in a coma, Faith in a coma, Faith in a coma… his mind had not processed that part. How did he mess up this badly? He shouldn't never had given Buffy Faith's address, hell he should never have started this whole thing with Faith, hell he should never had been so keen to get to know Buffy, hell he should have… ok that's enough.

He had spent an hour looking at her. Faith, wild and carefree and now still and fragile in a hospital bed. She was broken, damaged and might never make up. She had left him alone. He didn't know what to think or do. He was in shock… and then they came. His friends if he could still call them that.

"We need you!" Buffy told him.

Finally, they needed him. He had waited a long time for this moment. There was a time that he would have given his right arm for a moment like this. The group coming to him in their hour of need and not just for a doughnut run but for something useful and with purpose… but now he just wanted to be left alone. He wanted to wallow in his self-guilt and brood. Yeah it wasn't the most mature thing to do but then he was Xander Harris no one could call him mature.

"Xander please you are the only one with the military knowledge to organise a defence like this!" Buffy carried on.

Xander sighed and closed his eyes. Even in darkness all he could see was Faith. Faith at her most passionate, Faith at her most wild and just plain simple Faith. All he could ever want. He opened them again and stared up at the group from where he sat. It was clear that they wanted to be anywhere but asking for him help. Alas he was their only option… Xander the king of the Zeppos.

"Ok where do you want me to start?" He asked them.

X

"Where are you going? You haven't even told us!" Willow pleaded with him. He spared no look simply continued to make sure he had everything in his car that he would need.

It was a nice sunny day in Sunnydale. The town was busy with kids running around making plans to spend their day but inside Xander was wishing it would rain. It had been 4 days since Graduation, 4 days since Xander had led his classmates in some sort of army against the Mayor. 4 days since Buffy blew up the school. Now Xander was making good on his promise to leave town.

"You shouldn't leave like this! You should stay and sort this!" Willow pleaded yet again with tears in eyes. Xander turned to face them. Buffy, Oz and Willow all outside his house seeing him off. Any other situation or circumstance and he would be touch but now there was a great deal of distance between them. Far greater than he had ever imagined there would be.

"Buffy tell him he has stay! We can work pass this!" Willow cried turning to a stone-faced Buffy.

Buffy sighed "I think a bit time apart from each other will do us good Willow" she said not looking at Willow or Xander. He sighed well at least we agree on something Xander thought.

He got in his car and flipped the key.

"Xander please! She gave us no choice! She was evil! Buffy had to do it! You're being unfair!" Willow cried Oz put his arms around her. He would protect her and help her get passed this. He had already had this conversation with Willow before today but here she was pleading with him to stay yet again.

Xander finally turned to the group. He thought of them as that now not his friends. Calling them his friends would be lying to him and them. It would be like pretending that nothing ever happened.

"I made mistakes Will. I accept that I really do. I should have done things differently… but I didn't… I'm sorry for lying and hurting you all. But the thing that hurts me the most is because of my actions a young woman is placed into a coma. Now you might pass that off as a win or justify it as she was evil but I can't… I love her"

Xander looked at them sadly and with that drove away. He drove away from Sunnydale.
