Yearbook blues
I do not own the Simpsons any of its characters or it´s storylines any similarities to real life are purely accidental, this story is written purely for entertainment and it is not meant to be used to gain profit of any kind.
"You could always become cool next year-"- Sherri M.
"If hell freezes over"- Terri M.
"You will die and be eaten by your cat"- Janey P.
That was it, the straw that broke the camel´s back.
No matter how many times she had a makeover, how many celebrities she met, how many achievements she earned, they would always be as cruel as ever sooner or later.
Year after year adventure after adventure, nothing mattered to them she would always be a nerd, all her so called friends would insult her the second she slipped up and did something "nerdy".
They were so fickle.
Of course she did have some good friends and some… oddities.
"Thank you for the help tuttoroing me Lisa" – Ralph W.
"You are going to Harvard, HA HA (call me if you need me to punch someone)" – Nelson M.
"I WILL WAIT FOR YOU LISA" - Milhouse V.
"We will see who shall be the most successful" - Martin P.
"I will like totally invite you to the premiere when I become like a movie star" - Alex W.
"You don´t smell so dorky now (sorry for everything)" - Francine R.
"You really inspired me Lion heart" Nina S.
But all of those words didn´t make her feel any better.
Yes she had friends, but she always wound up as a loser even when her family told her she wasn´t.
Time and again her dreams of fitting in had been dashed.
But as she placed the yearbook into the shelf, she couldn´t help but to look at its predecessors, and feel the bitterness each cruel comment bound within their pages oozed.
But as she reached one of the oldest yearbooks, a small smile bloomed across her face.
She grabbed the yearbook and opened it wide, there sitting in its pages were five messages that had filled her heart with warmth both in the past and in the present.
"You made a hot summer very cool…I'll miss you"-Erin
"Like I like you, you know?" –Dean
"Without you, summer´s a bummer" – Rick
"Next year bring your microscope…" – Ben
"WE´LL MISS YOU"
And Lisa felt her doubts melt away, who cared about what her fair weather friends thought of her?
She was cool in the eyes of those four skaters, and in the eyes of many others.
She had gone all over the world, she had met countless stars, and she had felt joy and had felt sorrow.
Maybe she should search for the four of them.
They were her friends after all.
And so, Lisa lived her life without caring about popularity, and every summer she would get together with her four skater friends, she would live her life, she would be many things: A dork, a genius, a mother, a wife, an inspiration, but most importantly she would be…
Herself.
