CHAPTER 5

Confusion

"I broke

My OWN heart

Loving You…"

It's been a few days since when Tsubasa decided to prove his words through the most imprudent action. He stole a kiss from Mikan Sakura in front of the whole school. Even though, she was sure that no one saw her but that was soon proved to be wrong.

A few people did see the kiss from the corner of their eyes and once the gossip started, words spread like wild fire.

and now the whole school is attentive towards her once again. She doesn't like stares or gossips behind her back and that is exactly what is happening.

Mikan rolled her eyes as she remembered the kiss. It was so unappalling that it disgusted her. Her anger was so heightened up that she still hasn't talked to Tsubasa. She got a few voicemails from him, asking if she was still angry at him about his stupid action.

It was stupid alright, and she is furious.

The worst part is the aftermath. There is a rumor going around that Mikian is in love with the heart breaker and he is taking advantage of the situation. And this kind of rumor was annoying her even more. Why is she the one in love with him when he is the one who kissed her? How is that even logical? It doesn't matter, it's already been done, and she just has to deal with it.

Mikan was in the school library again, the only place where she can find peace and quiet when she needs to study. She has been here for about half an hour now, preparing for the upcoming exam.

Mikan sighed as her head fell onto the table and her eyes closed for a brief second but the sudden image of 'Natsume Hyuuga's handsome face across the corridor looking at her' flashed right before her eyes and her eyes were swiftly wide open again.

Her heart beat paced faster at the same time.

No…Stop

Mikan cannot go on like this anymore. Yes, she missed him and it sickened her. She cannot let herself stoop so low. After his hurtful words, she will not allow herself to have the same feelings for him. If the vile words he spat at her doesn't work then she will force herself to forget about him.

They are nothing but strangers. And it was exactly that for him, but she slipped and hurt herself. She will not let that injury be infected, instead she will impel herself to heal. She has never been disgraced this badly in her life. Her life shouldn't revolve around such a guy, her time should be utilized into making herself better for future. She will make herself go to the state where she will be numb towards him…. Yes she has to.

A creaking noise nudged Mikan out of her thoughts and she lifted her head up to inspect what was going on.

Hotaru was preparing to take a sit right across from her "Did you talk to that Baka?".

"No, I don't want to talk about him." Mikan knew exactly about whom Hotaru was talking about.

"Yeah if you say so." Hotaru didn't argue as she unzipped her school bag to take some homework assignments out.

"How is he?"

"I thought you didn't want to talk about him." Hotaru casually replied as she flipped the pages of the math book for the assigned homework.

Mikan glared at Hotaru's smart ass answer before picking up her mechanical pencil to try to answer the equation that she has been struggling to solve.

"He misses you…"

Mikan's face jolted up from her notebook

"I mean as a friend." Hotaru looked at Mikan as well.

"Yeah well it doesn't seem like he wants this friendship to last." Mikan whispered sternly.

"He did a stupid thing… and he realized his mistake." Hotaru sighed "For how long are you going to punish him?"

"What do you want me to do?" Mikan growled "I am so angry at him that I want to kill him."

"I understand… but don't completely discard the bond that you two have."

"Is he paying you to say all this?" Mikan frowned at Hotaru's softness.

Hotaru smirked "Sort off."

"What do you mean?"

"Doesn't matter…" Hotaru messaged her temple "Whatever I am saying is my own concern…"

Mikan watched Hotaru as she proceeded with her conversation.

"He is really sorry, and he will do anything… I mean anything to get your friendship back."

"Then sharp at 6 o clock, at the basketball court after his soccer practice… I will listen to what he has to say"

Mikan packed everything swiftly and threw her school bag over her shoulder "Not my fault if he dies."

And with that said, she left the library.

Mikan never complained about soccer. It was one sports she enjoyed playing in school. It definitely has to do with how good she is but the tricks and skills to play soccer intrigued Mikan allot. Playing soccer made Mikan feel invincible and leave her problems behind. It didn't matter how people saw her in school, when she was on the field, she was powerful and confident. And the afterward high from all the running and workout on her body, made her feel light and refreshed. And, this was also her secret to staying in shape.

The coach asked Mikan at least a million times to join the soccer team but Mikan only plays for self-enjoyment. So, she declined. Another reason for her refusal is that, she doesn't like playing with people she doesn't know. Her anxiety gets the best of her from extreme nervousness and it will definitely hinder with her performance. So, Mikan only plays inside the boundary with her class mates.

Mikan was excited about playing soccer today. Their P.E was replaced by outdoors activity, which was decided to be a friendly soccer match. Everything was going fine and Mikan's anticipation was high. However, her mood was killed when she heard news that the boy's soccer team will be practicing for the upcoming tournament during their match. Mikan immediately knew Tsubasa will definitely be there just to tease her.

And just like how Mikan predicted, Tsubasa Andou was there on the other side of the field with his team mates, practicing for the upcoming game. He will steal quick glances at Mikan as he worked on his kicks.

But Mikan didn't let that bother her as she focused on the ball in front of her instead.

What she was mostly concerned about was facing Natsume Hyuuga but Mikan convinced herself that he wasn't there, and she will definitely not look around to look for him. So Mikan Sakura used soccer as a distraction to forget about her worries for the time being.

Time went by too fast, as it was already time to return back to class.

As she was just about to turn around towards the building entrance, she heard her name being called.

Tsubasa shouted her name for her attention from across the field. Mikan in response looked directly at him. After seeing that Mikan finally heard his call, Tsubasa hurled towards her.

"The basketball court Ms. Sakura!" Tsubasa grinned as he stopped midway and Mikan rolled her eyes.

"And please try not to kill me." Tsubasa laughed as Mikan smiled before retreating towards the entrance of the school building.

Oh, how much she missed her friend.

It has been almost half an hour that Mikan has been waiting for Tsubasa to show up for their arranged meeting. Possibly his soccer practice was taking longer than usual. But he could have at least texted her about the situation.

Mikan was sure everyone from all the clubs left already. There was no distant chattering or sound that echoed outside the closed door of the indoor basketball court.

Mikan sighed, maybe she should just leave. After all, Tsubasa can't really do anything if his coach makes him practice longer. And she is pretty sure the absence of his text must be because of the strict rule of no phone policy during soccer practice.

But as soon as she concluded that, Mikan heard the noise of the door to the court closing, which was followed by the thumping of footsteps on the wooden court.

"Tsubasa!" Mikan immediate looked up from her phone "What took you s-"

Her stomach immediately twisted, and she felt Nausea engulf her. The color from her face drained out as her feet involuntarily took two steps back. She looked like as if she saw a ghost.

Natsume Hyugga was pacing steadily towards her. His face was cold, and his eyes stared directly at her. His jaw clenched and unclenched repeatedly.

"Why… What are..you… what are you doing here?" Mikan's voice almost sounded like a whisper as it echoed against the wall of the basketball court.

Her head felt like it was spinning and the temperature around her got warmer and warmer with each passing second. Her lungs felt like they were not sucking in enough air as her breathing became shallow pants.

"You are leaving right now." He ignored Mikan's question as he voiced his opinion sternly. He was clearly very angry.

What?

Mikan thought in confusion as he stopped right in front of her restless form.

"I said." He paused "leave."

And that commanding voice of his made Mikan come back to reality. And she forgot all about the meeting with Tsubasa and annoyance washed over her.

Who does he think he is telling her what to do? He comes out of nowhere after weeks and demands that she should listen to him? Does he not remember what he said to her and how things already ended between them? She does not need to stand there and endure his rudeness. She will not let him walk all over her. Not anymore.

He has no rights to make her do whatever he wanted.

"No, I am not." Mikan refuted, her voice a little higher pitched than normal

"Oh yes you are." He stated as his hand retreated from his pockets and he reached out briskly to grab a firm hold of her upper arm.

"No! Don't' touch me!" Mikan countered but he didn't care what she wanted "Stop!"

Her struggle was evident as she tried her best to yank her arm out of his clutch, but his strength made her struggle pointless. His iron grip got tighter as a threat for her to stop her scuffling. But Mikan's emotion poured out into her action.

How dare he touch her…

Mikan's nails came digging onto his hands as she fought for his grip on her to loosen but her attempt was useless.

Mikan's desperate voice cried for him to let go of her but instead he jerked her body forward as he turned from her pity form and strode forward. At the same time Mikan's body was forcefully dragged towards the same path and her feet involuntary started to tread the same course.

Mikan's protest and struggle went to vain as he dragged her across the court and into the school's empty corridor.

Mikan jerked and hauled but his grip never loosened. She yelled and screamed but his form stayed the same. It was as if he was deaf but that only fueled Mikan to fight harder.

Unknowingly in the heat of her struggle, she didn't' know what came over her but the thought of Tsubasa still being somewhere around dimly crossed her mind and she shouted for him again and again in that empty corridor. And the next thing she knew, her back collided with the firm surface of the wall painfully. All the air from her lungs came rushing out, and her eyes involuntarily closed shut from the ache.

Her cheeks were squeezed, and her face was forcefully lifted up. In alert, her eyes bolted open. But, before she could comprehend what was going on, his lips came crashing onto hers.

His mouth forcefully invaded hers as his lips and tongue harshly collided against hers again and again. His other hand somehow was already around her waist, keeping Mikan in place. His body kept her trapped in-between him and the wall. Mikan's head was tilted backward, onto the wall, from the force of his assaulting mouth.

Mikan's hand immediately lifted to his chest, as she pushed him. But he was stronger than her and it was evident. Mikan tried her best to voice her protest but her attempt failed as his mouth conquered her again and again.

And before she knew it, her hand that stubbornly pushed and scratched his chest was held in a firm grip and she was twirled around, only to be pushed forward flush to the wall. Her hand was twisted against her lower back as his free hand roughly pushed her hair aside, exposing her long neck to him.

His palm came up to cover her mouth and at the same time his teeth immediate bit down onto her pulsing side neck. Her protest was muffled by his palm as he licked and sucked harder.

The sensation of his mouth on her neck overwhelmed her, as her body started to pick up on the feeling he could give her. But she won't give in as her hands tried harder to pull out of his grip.

Her action irritated him even more as he bit down hard onto the spot he was licking, and she jerked in pain. But as soon as he bit her, his tongue darted out and he lapped the spot like an animal licking to subside the pain.

Once he was satisfied with his licks, he spined Mikan around and looked straight at her flushed face.

"Let's see how you explain this to your boyfriend." He snarled under his breath, before releasing Mikan from his grip and walked away with his hand in his pocket.

Mikan just stood there, with her palm on her neck where he bit down. And only when she couldn't' hear his footstep anymore did she let her eyes to tear up. She slid down against the wall and onto the floor as her tired body could not handle the overwhelming emotion that consumed her.

TO BE CONTINUED.

Thank You for all the love and patience.
