Disclaimer: I wish I owned this show because it is absolutely genius. But alas I do not.
Cabe POV
The Value of Someone Else's Life
Walter stumbled back into the garage.
We had just dropped off Paige for her exam at the very last minute and on the way back Walter was obviously going through a lot of pain from his arm that he was not willing to admit.
He started to pour his nasty concoction into his mug and drank it while shivering.
It was painful to even watch him. "Why don't you just go to bed and I'll bring you some pain killers and sleeping pills. You just got bit by a deadly snake a few hours ago I think going a sleep a few hours early for once would be good for you."
Walter just grunted and stumbled over to the couch and plopped on. He groaned and covered his eyes with his good arm.
I sat down watching him intently, "can you hear me Walter?"
Walter just mumbled something incoherent.
I poured him another one of his medicine like drinks and quietly went over to the kitchen to smash a good amount of sleeping pills into it.
When I walked back to the couch Walter was sitting up while looking at the snake bite in his arm. His hair was in shambles and his posture was slumping. he was starting to break a sweat.
"What do you think about Paige's field of education Cabe?" He practically mumbled.
I laughed half heartedly that he was so bothered by it and handed him his drink, "I think that it really helped us out today. She's a valuable part of this team even more now."
Walter nodded deep in thought, "I underestimated her." He drank it all in one gulp and grimaced at the after taste.
I cleared my throat, "I know that ever since I've entered into your life again the jobs that I have put you and your team under are high stress and particularly dangerous. But what you did today... You may not value your life but I do. Do not ever put your self in that position again."
Walter shifted uncomfortably on the couch refusing to look at me.
I meant it too. Walter was like a son to me. I feel proud of him and I worry about him constantly. But if I some how put him into a position to where his life is threatened. I don't think I could live with myself.
Walter looked at the ground then glanced at me quickly, "I'm sorry." He said quietly.
I could see the sleeping pills starting to take effect. His head started to fall and his blinking got slow.
I stood up, "why don't we get you to bed."
Walter was delirious, "no no no I've got so much to do." He looked around the garage desperately, "I'm behind on the rocket project and I have yet to make progress on Megan's MS," he rubbed his eyes clumsily, "and all the paperwork..."
"No. You're going to bed." I reached out to grab his arm and stood him up, "come on you only have to walk up the stairs."
Walter nodded, too sleepy to answer anymore. I practically pulled him up the stairs and he fell onto his bed out cold in a second.
I pulled off his shoes and undid his tie. He looked so different when he slept. So peaceful and young. just Iike any other guy. I couldn't help but smile as I tucked him into bed.
So I thought this was just cute little father son relationship moment.
Scorpion is my new show addiction. I hate that I have to wait two weeks for each episode. I can't wait that long. I even get excited for the promos to get released. that's how pathetic I am now.
So far for my scorpion one shots I've only written in the "normal" characters povs because I don't think I can do the genius characters justice.
But if Y'all have any suggestions or critiques I'm happy to hear it in the REVIEW section below!
