Into the Woods
Oh hello there, oh human child,
Where headed you today?
Perhaps if you have the time,
You'd like to come and play.
…
Don't worry, we shall guide you,
We fairies know these woods.
So why not follow, take a wander,
Does not it feel good?
…
Hear the breeze and see the trees,
Across the paths you play.
See the sunlight start to fade,
Say goodbye to day.
…
Hear the laughter in our voices,
Ignore your parents' calls.
Wander down these endless paths,
Start to stumble, fall.
…
Feel the fear grow in your heart,
Wonder where we've flown.
Feel your body start to fade,
See your skin turn to bone.
…
Start to rasp and search for water,
Go headed for a stream.
Hoping that this is a nightmare,
That you'll break free from this dream.
…
And now at last you find some water,
For hydration you rasp.
But you see your reflection,
And let out a fearful gasp.
…
Look at your face, oh human child,
Red eyes, layers of bone.
Welcome, child, to these woods,
Now wander them alone.
…
And as for us, our fun is done,
But we still want to play.
There's more like you, oh human child,
Such playthings are our prey.
