Chapter 1

Roy was sorting through paperwork when the doors to his office slammed open.

"Mustang!" yelled the all too familiar voice of the Fullmetal Alchemist. Ed didn't actually have a reason for kicking in the colonel's door, I guess you could say he was feeling a bit bored.

Roy looked up from his work with a sigh, "What is it?" His black eyes met gold and Edward was left stammering.

"I…I just wanted… I mean… I-I..." he paused, "w-what?" he asked stupidly

Roy stood up slowly. Ed watched him intently as he leaned over his desk towards him. Roy leaned in closer and closer his lips almost brushing against Ed's ear, "come over to my house after work…" With that said he sat back down and continued to leaf through the papers scattered across his desk. Ed didn't move, Roy looked up "Anything else…?"

The blonde jumped, "No…"

As Ed walked out of Roy's office he heard a murmured, "See you tonight." Ed smiled and closed the door.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ed had already made himself comfortable by the time Roy got home. He had been engrossed in one of Roy's many alchemy books, this one in particular happened to focus on the gritty details of alchemic production of less tangible elements… like how Roy could create fire…

There was a loud thud that made Ed look up from the book. Roy just closed the front door and stood leaning his back against it, his eyes were closed. The pale eyelids suddenly fluttered to life, catching Ed's big golden orbs staring right back at him.

Ed averted his gaze as soon as his eyes met Roy's. A chuckle escaped the flame alchemists' lips. He turned around to hang up his coat.

The blonde blushed angrily before throwing his book across the room and nailing Roy in the head.

He groaned while rubbing his head… Then he spun around quick as a whip, "What the Hell!?" Edward shrunk down into the chair.

Roy was on him in a second. His arms were braced against the chair and he was looking down at a cowering Edward. They both stayed completely still staring at each other. Roy grabbed Edward's chin and pulled his face up towards his own. Their lips brushed together briefly before Ed turned his head, "We've been over this… we're just…" Ed glanced quickly at Roy who was fixated on the blonde. He shuddered under his gaze, "We're just… I mean." His face turned red in frustration and embarrassment.

"We're just fuck buddies," Roy said matter-of-factly.

The smaller man blushed, "Besides, it's better if we don't involve emotions… Our jobs could be at stake…"

Roy kept a straight face just staring down the Fullmetal alchemist. "And… Colonel…" Ed said his voice thick with sarcasm, "You should appreciate the value of secrecy with our jobs… more so than anyone… with your ambitions being what they are…" Ed chuckled

The raven haired man smirked before moving to Ed's neck. He began to tenderly bite and lick the soft skin, he traced his fingers along the nape of his neck. Ed shivered and dropped his head back. Roy scooped Ed up in his arms and whisked him away to his bedroom. The older man placed his lover on the bed and then crawled over him continuing to nip and suck on his neck.

Clothes were flying off left and right. Roy had worked his way nipping and licking his way down Ed's chest. It was just flesh against flesh except for Roy's briefs. That's where the two made their fatal mistake.

Roy quickly slipped out of his boxers while Edward was preoccupied.

Ed began to groan, his face buried in pillows "Take it off and give it to me already…"

A confused Roy, thinking Edward was aware his briefs were long gone, mistakenly thought Edward was referring to the condom.

And so, an excited Roy Mustang pulled the condom off and fucked Edward silly all night long.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ed awoke early the next morning and began his daily routine, he left for work before Roy had even stirred.

At work Ed received a call from Winry and Al, they had just had their first baby girl a few months back, and they made a point to call Ed at regular intervals. They decided to name her Trisha, for obvious reasons. They had been wanting for Ed to come and visit and help around the house, so they could see him for a few months… After all Ed and Al hadn't seen each other for almost a year.

After hanging up the phone he decided on a whim that he was going to go back for an extended vacation…

He grabbed paper and a pen and wrote a quick note to Hughes.

'I'm going to Resembool. Do not tell Roy Mustang. –Ed'

With that he left to the station before Colonel Mustang had even showed up for work.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hours after Ed had left Hughes found the note lying on his desk. He opened it quickly and read it, "What's that you've got there Hughes…?" The lieutenant colonel jumped and turned to face the one Roy Mustang.

"Eh? What this old thing…?" He smiled and rubbed the back of his head nervously, "It's just a note… nothing of importance."

Roy was leaning against the doorway just watching Hughes, "Who's it from?" Roy had been running around the office searching for Edward all morning… Hughes office happened to be one of his many visits…

Before Hughes could even think he responded with one word, "Ed…" He covered his mouth in disbelief at what he had just said…

Roy walked to where Hughes was standing and tugged the note from his hands.

"Don't tell Mustang? Why would Ed go to Resembool?" Hughes didn't say anything, he merely shrugged.

The colonel sighed before pinching the bridge of his nose. "That kid…"

Hughes butted in, "Well… actually Roy… he's 19 now… hardly a kid…"

The colonel shook his head, "Don't I know it…" He gave the letter back to Hughes and then proceeded to his own office where Hawkeye was doing work at her desk...

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

3 months later

Al knocked on the bathroom door, where from outside he could hear his brother throwing up what little breakfast he ate. Al felt so sorry for his big brother and wished that there was something he could do to help… but Ed refused to see a doctor. "Brother? Are you feeling alright?" The younger Elric brother heard water running, then the door opened only to reveal Ed, who was grinning widely. His hands were placed over his stomach.

"I told you Al, I'm fine… It's just a bug."

"But brother… this has been going on for a month now… almost two…"

"Yeah, and I'll get over this Al… I'm fine…"

Al didn't say anything but he looked dissatisfied with that answer.

"Al, I don't wanna go all the way back to Central… just for a doctor's appointment…"

Al's face lit up, "Brother! A new doctor moved into town! He helped Winry with the baby! I'm sure he can help you feel better! Come on! I'll take you to the clinic!"

Ed groaned with irritation, but went along with his younger brother anyways because he knew that Al wouldn't stop pestering him until he knew his beloved older brother was fine.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It took only a few minutes to walk to the so-called clinic. It was a small cottage, moss lined the roof, and flower boxes hung in the window with flowers garnishing vibrant petals of oranges, reds, purples, and pinks. Smoke drifted lazily out of the chimney trying to warm the cottage on this gray windy day.

As Al opened the door and walked in a little bell sounded there was a voice drifting from the other room, "Be there in a second…"

Ed followed quickly after his younger brother. They stood in a clean room with little furniture. There was a large oak desk with papers scattered over the entire surface, as well as, books, a microscope, and a few slides. There was a large book case in the corner of the room, and a small couch near the fireplace.

Al took a seat and Ed wandered over to the bookcase gazing at the massive collection of books that spilled off of every shelf. "Brother! What are you doing?! Don't look through his things!"

Just then the doctor entered the room, He placed a large stack of books on the desk and sighed pushing his glasses up his face. He smiled at Al, "It's alright Al… They're just books…" The doctor turned to face Ed.

He stuck out his hand, "I am Dr. Oliver Cooper, Medical Alchemist… Known as the Shaman Alchemist by the state"

Ed stared back before reaching out his hand to shake, "You're a state alchemist…?"

He stared at the man. He was short, a little shorter than Ed. He had sandy blonde curls that hung down to the nape of his neck. His skin was tanned ever so slightly His face and neck were covered in freckles, no doubt so was the rest of his skin. He had piercing green eyes which had large glasses resting in front of them.

"Indeed… You must be the notorious Edward Elric…"

Edward knew he liked this doctor… and he couldn't help but admit part of his adoration came from the fact that he was finally taller than someone. "Yes, that would be me…"

"I've heard a lot about you from Al and Winry."

Ed smiled nervously, "Is that so? Well hopefully they've only said good things."

Oliver smiled and nodded absently, "Of course… of course" He grabbed a clip board off of his desk and handed it to Ed… "Please fill this out…" Ed sat on the couch next to Al and began to fill out the paper, all the while still holding a conversation with Al, and Dr. Cooper. Al was inquiring about Oliver's time in the war.

Ed looked up from the board in his lap, "How did you get the state to let you live out here?"

Dr. Cooper looked up from a book he was casually flipping through, "Hmm? Oh… Well after the war, since I was a major contribution they kind of let me do whatever I want… I just have to go back every once in a while… for the test and to report back on my research…"

Ed's eyes widened in shock, "You were in the Ishval war? So then you're way older than you look…" Ed could only think of Roy… the doctor must have been around the same age.

Dr. Cooper looked a little deflated, "I don't look that young… do I?"

Al smiled a bit, "You do kind of resemble a teenager…"

Ed looked back at the questionnaire in his lap.

Oliver merely shrugged, "Well... I like my height… it's a different world down here..."

Ed chuckled, he got up and handed the clip board to the doctor, "Dr. Coop-"

"Just call me Oliver…"

"O-Oliver?" Ed said a bit unsure sounding like he was testing out the name, "Is there a bathroom I could use…?"

"Oh, the other room, the only door in there… Oh, and while you're in there could you give me a urine sample?" He handed Ed a small jar with blank labels all across it, he took the jar mumbling about doctors and went to the bathroom.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ed and Al sat on the couch watching the doctor run back and forth trying to figure out what was wrong with Ed.

Oliver swiveled in his chair out from behind his desk which was covered in so many books now the small man was invisible when back there. He stood up and wandered into the other room, a green light flashed bright and quick before dying down again. The doctor returned and stood in front of the bookshelf. He examined it for a few seconds before pulling three books off the shelf.

He went back into the other room. And disappeared for a minute there was the sound of broken glass, then frustrated groaning. The phone on his desk began to ring. He walked back into the main room and answered the phone while flipping through a book.

"Dr. Oliver Cooper… Oh Hi!" He chirped excitedly, "yes, when?" He held the phone to his ear with his shoulder. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration… He sighed, "Alright… Yes, I'll be there…" Very quickly the doctor's eyes flashed over Ed, then back down at his book, "Yes… he's here too… alright… very well…" He hung up the phone and without another word headed back into the other room.

Ed was very anxious… it felt like they'd been there for hours… not that it was all bad, Oliver was very hospitable, he made them tea, and talked to them when he could…

He reappeared in the main room sighing and leaning against the wall. The doctor pulled his glasses off his face and rubbed his eyes, before placing the spectacles back over his nose and ears.

He looked at Ed. "This has been puzzling to me…" He sat down in his chair and slid across the floor so he was adjacent to the two brothers. "I think I have finally figured it out…" He went and grabbed a few books off his desk and set them down on the coffee table in front of the boys.

He opened them to certain pages and took a deep breath, "Alright… so you both should be familiar with the law of equivalent exchange…" They nodded, "Well In my studies, I have proposed that when doing human alchemy, such as both of you have, over time, certain things may develop… or disappear, bodily functions may become more or less efficient… I call it the Severity Principal."

He looked at the two boys to make sure they were still following, "The severity of the condition depends on the severity of the human alchemy experiment…" He looked at the boys, "Do you understand where I'm going with this?" They looked at him blankly, "Well, you Edward, are a victim. Though your body on the outside has been restored, on the inside… you were still changing, still being punished…"

They still stared at him blankly, "Ed…" He cleared his throat, "you're pregnant…"

Ed was in silent shock. His hand moved to his stomach.

Oliver looked at the hand over his stomach, "You were grew a womb at some point..."

Al stared blankly, "Brother… who's baby is it…?"

Edward took a deep breath and looked at Al and Oliver… "It's…Roy's..."

Oliver's eyes widened in shock, "Roy? Roy Mustang...? The colonel?" Ed nodded, "Really… who would have thought he swung that way… well... he's good looking you're lucky Ed" He was silent for a moment… "The colonel was the one who had called me earlier… he was asking about you Ed… asked if I had seen you around…"

Al seemed frantic now… "What are you going to do Ed… if the military finds out about you and colonel's fraternization? You could both lose your jobs…"

Ed looked at Al, his tone a bit sharp, "Don't you think I know that... He's one reason I decided to leave…"

Oliver looked down at his hands, "Well… y'know you should tell the colonel… I'm sure he'd want to be a part of this family…"

Ed sniggered.

Oliver shot him the most serious look, the intensity looked foreign on the man's youthful face, "I'm serious… Roy is... he's a family man… in Ishval, he always looked out for me… Of course it got annoying… but I understood why, he like everyone else saw me as small and helpless… he tried to keep me close… He tried to keep me safe… like a little brother… even though… I'm older than him…" Oliver began to chuckle. He smiled and looked at the two Elric brothers… "He reminds me a lot of my lover…" He sighed and stood up, "Anyways... congratulations Edward… Oh, and, you're expected to do your state-alchemy exam in two days' time…" The small doctor stood up and stretched… The two boys stood up off their seemingly permanent places on the couch to leave the small "clinic" Oliver stood in the doorway as they walked down the path back to the Elric house.

"Oh! And when you tell Roy, Tell him to call me, he probably won't believe you otherwise…"

Ed turned to wave back at the doctor, "Will do, It was nice meeting you!"

Oliver waved back and then retreated back into the cottage and engrossed himself in research wanting to contemplate Ed's conditions and

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The next day, Al, Winry, and baby Trisha accompanied Ed to the train station.

Al hugged his older brother, "Don't be reckless… okay? And if Roy Mustang gives you any trouble, you know where we'll be." Ed grinned and began laughing, as did Al.

Winry handed her daughter to the baby's father and then hugged Ed tightly. "Take care of yourself… and like Al said… If you need anything… we'll be here…"

Ed smiled, "Thanks Winry…"

He looked at baby Trisha and grabbed her out of his brother's arms holding her close. He whispered to her so only she could hear, in turn she giggled at her uncle's words.

He was interrupted by the yelling of a familiar voice, "ED! I'm so glad I caught you!" None other than a breathless Dr. Oliver Cooper stood in front of him now. He held up a capsule filled with ground up plants. He handed it to Ed… put this on your food when you eat… it's just ginger and peppermint… but it's good for nausea… I also enhanced its properties… it will help you feel better…"

He looked at Oliver, "Oh, thank you…" He handed Trisha back to her mother.

The train whistle blew signaling its imminent departure. He smiled at the people seeing him off, "Well, I'll see you guys real soon!"

Oliver waved as he was leaving, "Hey Ed! Don't be a stranger! Next time you're here come and visit okay!? We can talk more about alchemy!" Ed nodded and smiled before disappearing onto the train.

As Ed sat down he closed his eyes tightly and leaned back in his seat feeling nausea grip him once more. He sighed and rubbed his face.

When Ed arrived at the Central train station he got off fully expecting to see Hughes or someone of the sort there to pick him up, but it was Roy Mustang himself… In the flesh and blood.

Ed stared at him, "I can't believe you're actually the one who picked me up…"

Roy smiled, "I got a call from Dr. Cooper. He said I was to pick you up… and if I didn't he would personally strangle me when he came to do his test…" He noticed Ed was struggling a bit with his luggage, so he took it out of his hands. Ed tried to protest but then remembered pregnant women weren't supposed to exert themselves, and that probably meant the same for him… He let go of the heavy bag and as he did the capsule of herbs fell out of his pocket and hit the ground. Ed made a reach for it, but Roy picked it up first. He noticed Oliver's hand writing and scrawled on the label were the words "For morning sickness." Before he could examine it further Ed snatched it out of his hands.

Roy smirked, "So, you've met Oliver… curious little man, isn't he…"

Edward chuckled, "Yeah, he's only slightly smaller than me…"

Roy's smile only grew as fond memories flashed back into his head, he nodded placed the luggage in the back seat of his car as Edward got into the passenger seat. He slid into the driver's seat.

Edward began to slap him and hit him, it was obvious he wasn't trying to hurt Roy, but still the young boy's unrelenting blows were irritating. "What the hell Edward?!"

"What the hell? You have no right to say that! What the hell, you have no idea what I've dealt wi-" He stopped and turned away, "Never mind…"

Roy stared at Ed blankly trying to figure out what had just happened. He didn't say anything sensing Ed didn't want to talk at the moment. He started the car and drove back to HQ.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

They pulled into a parking space "Edward… would you follow me to my office please? There are some matters… business matters we have to discuss." He turned the car off.

Edward clicked his tongue with irritation, "I'll say…" Roy looked at the smaller man, eager to question his behavior. The colonel walked hurriedly to his office the blonde trailing behind.

He opened the door to his office only to reveal a rather large welcoming party, He stared at everyone flatly, "Everyone out…" All of their happy expressions turned to broken ones. They all rushed out of the office but stood outside the doors expectantly. The crowd mostly cleared away save for Hughes, and Hawkeye. They stood listening quietly even though they knew they shouldn't… but after all they knew about Ed and Roy's relationship… which they shouldn't but… the chemistry between the two of them was almost palpable.

Roy leaned on the edge of his desk, "Explain yourself, Ed…"

The blonde looked around nervously, "Is that a new desk… it look-"

"Edward." Roy's tone was stern and snappy. "I think you owe me of all people an explanation…"

Ed sighed feeling nausea grip him again. He couldn't bring himself to look at Roy.

Roy looked at him waiting… he said nothing... Ed didn't know where to start.

Ed took a deep breath, "Well… I left because Al and Winry wanted me to visit…" Absentmindedly his hand moved to his stomach as the swell of sick grew in the pit of his stomach.

Roy interrupted, "Why did you tell Hughes not to tell me…?"
"Well I didn't technically tell him…"
"So you wrote it in a note? That's not the point. I just want to understand why you kept your trip to Resembool a secret when you knew I'd find out sooner rather than later."

Ed looked away, "Well… I figured the longer it took you realize I was gone, it would seem like I wasn't gone for as long… and you wouldn't be as mad when I came back…"

Roy pinched the bridge of his nose, then looked up and said in a surprisingly calm tone, "How's Al, Winry, and the baby?"

Ed was caught off guard, "Oh… they're good… yeah…" He smiled remembering his time with them.

Roy nodded as though that answer satisfied him…

"How about Oliver…? I saw that prescription he gave you… what is it…?"

Ed shrugged, "Just peppermint and ginger… I've been feeling nauseas as of late…"

Roy sat down behind his desk, "Well I hope you feel better…" He looked up at Ed from where he sat, "Now, we need to discuss the terms of your test… The Fuher, since you were absent at the time has chosen for you to duel…"

Suddenly everyone's words of advice rung in his head, "Don't exert yourself…" "Take it easy…"

Ed looked at Roy, "I can't duel…"

Roy stared at him blankly, "What are you talking about… of course you can… You have to, Fuher's orders."

Ed shook his head "I'm not going to… Oliver said I shouldn't…"

Roy looked back down at the paperwork on his desk, "Well Oliver isn't-"

"I'm Pregnant!"

Roy was frozen in place, "What?"

That was wild... and I had way to much fun writing this. Hope you had as much fun reading as I did writing it.
