[Alex]

They headed back towards the ship. Alex was watching Sanji and Zoro bicker. Chopper and her were walking behind the two.

"Are you feeling okay?" Chopper asked her.

She smiled, "Yeah I'm okay now. Do they always do this?"

"Heh yes, they do," he said.

"So, if you don't mind me asking, are you a devil fruit user?"

"Yes, I ate the hito hito no mi. I have a few forms.."

Alex keep looking towards the side of him, looking at something nobody else saw, "Are you a doctor?"

"Yes, I'm our ships doctor, how did you know?"

Alex smiled to herself but said, "Well you keep asking how I'm feeling, usually that's something doctors do right?"

"Oh heh, I guess I have been," he smiled.

"Thank you, I'm not really used to people concerned about me."

"Well until you're better you'll be with me a lot okay?"

"Sounds good to me," Alex said smiling.

As they walked into town, the villagers all stepped off to the side staring at them, no they were staring at Alex. Her heart rate increase.

They're all scared of me…

[Zoro]

Walking into the town he noticed the villagers all stepping away from them, and staring.

Understandable considering how I acted last night. Word has probably already gotten around.

Looking closer, they weren't just looking at them, no. They were all staring at Alex. Her ears were pulled back her tail wasn't wagging anymore. She's being watched by fearful eyes. That can't be a good feeling towards anyone. He stepped over so he was walking right in front of her. He stared them all down, most of them shifted their gaze away from them, continued their own business.

"Thank you," Alex whispered. He nodded his head. "Oh, someone fixed the bar," Sanji said as they passed.

Didn't I overhear Luffy asking Franky something? Maybe he fixed it.

"Franky left last night with some tools and wood, he probably fixed it for them," Chopper said, confirming Zoro's thoughts.

"What happened that needed to get fixed?" Alex asked.

Zoro flushed, glad that Alex was behind him so she couldn't see his face. Then glared at the other two not to say anything, "Nothing really."

Suddenly she was right next to him and whispered in his ear, "Hmm, I don't believe that." He flushed more and Alex just laughed. She quickly looked over by Chopper then looked away real quick.

That wasn't the first time I've noticed her looking over at him..

"Oh, is that so," Alex whispered.

"Did you say something Alex-chan," Sanji asked.

She shook her head, smiling she said, "I didn't say anything." She looked back towards Chopper then away again.

Could this be…

They got back to the ship but Zoro notice that Alex seemed a little out of it. Maybe the drug was starting to affect her. Everyone gathered around.

"Woah, you really to have dog ears!" Luffy exclaimed.

"Luffy! That's not polite!" Nami yelled.

"Um, may I see your panties?" Brook asked.

Nami hit him over the head, "That's even worse!"

Alex became pale, breathing heavy, just staring at Luffy, "What's wrong?" He asked, "Is there food on my face?"

Tears started falling and Alex's voice quivered, "What are these memories? This pain?"

The crew was stunned, nobody knew what to say. Robin whispered to Zoro, "What's happening?" Zoro had an idea of what was going on, but he didn't want it to be true.

"Blackbeard, Whitebeard, marines, poison, death. There's too much... it hurts…"

As she rambled on, they all understood what she was talking about. The battle at Marineford. A figure appeared on the deck, someone only a few have ever met, but all of them knew who he was.

Luffy broke down, "Ace?!" He yelled sobbing, running towards him, hugging him not believing that he's here. Ace whispered something into his ear.

"Is this real? This can't be real. It's far too cruel. It's not real." Alex muttered to herself.

Zoro was by her but it was like she could not hear him, she was in her own world consumed by Luffy and Ace's memories. He tried shaking her, trying to snap her out of it. "Alex!"

She looked at him, "Zo...ro.?" she collapsed, he caught her and gently set her down as Chopper ran over.

Ace started to vanish. He said, "You have a good crew Lu, I have a feeling I'll be back."

"ACE!" Luffy screamed.

[Luffy]

Chopper was looking over her, sweat was pouring off of her and she was breathing frantically and irregularly.

"It's because of the drugs, didn't you say they injected more into her before you two fought?"

"Yeah, she tried to take the headset off but the damage was already done," Zoro said.

"So she's experiencing side effects?" Nami asked.

"Will she have more episodes?" Robin said.

"Whatever just happened with Luffy didn't help her situation, and she will probably have more experiences like this for awhile," Chopper said, "I've gathered ingredients and notes from their labs, I'll be able to recreate the drug they have been giving to her. In cases like this you have to wean patients off of the substance, if she just stopped taking it after all these years her body would go into shock and it would more than likely kill her."

"So we have to make her still go through this?!" Sanji asked angrily.

"Hey! It's not like I want it to be like this! I wish there was another way, but there isn't, I'm doing the best I can!"

Brook placed his hand on Choppers shoulder, "You're doing a fine job Chopper, let's get her to the infirmary, shall we?"

He nodded his head, him and Brook took her there.

"Luffy are you okay?" Usopp asked.

He was staring off into the setting sun, "Of course!" but when he looked at his crew he knew that none of them believed him. He sighed, "That was just… Unexpected.."

Ace! How I want to talk to you, to tell you how much I miss you. To say I'm sorry… that I wasn't good enough to save you..

"Zoro, are you going to go with?" Robin asked.

"Yeah but first I feel as if I should explain what I think just occurred."

"So what's happening Zoro?" Nami asked.

"Remember yesterday when Nailah appeared? Well before then I was asleep having a dream. I was dreaming of someone that means a lot to me. As a kid we were rivals, we were friends. Her name was Kuina, we were competing for who would become the strongest swordsman. In my dream I was recalling our last duel. My 2001st lost to her. That night we swore that one of us would become the best, and it was just the next day that she died." He looked towards the clouds, the breeze on his face, he shook himself. "But because Nailah was there she allowed me to speak to Kuina, who is apparently beside me, watching me. Kuina told me that I wasn't weak anymore, which was something I needed to hear from her that I never got to before. What she did for me goes beyond words, I can't never repay that."

"So it must be one of her powers?" Usopp asked.

"You lost 2001 times to a lady?" Sanji snickered.

"Shut up you shifty chef!" Zoro yelled at him, "Since she's a spirit warrior I can only assume right now that she can somehow connect to the spirits around us."

"Are we really going to be allowed to speak to people who've passed?" Nami asked.

"It appears so," Robin said, "It might have a book about this, suddenly spirit warriors are sounding more and more familiar."

"Super! There's something I've wanted to say to someone, but I just never got the chance to." Franky said.

"Nami!" Luffy yelled, "We have to get off this island! Could you possibly find a small deserted island for now?"

"I could try but why deserted? You don't ever like islands like that."

"You'll see!" He said.

"On it Captain!"

[Zoro]

In the infirmary, Alex was comfortable but she didn't look good. She was very pale and still not breathing right. Alex started to glow a soft purple then Nailah materialized beside her.

"You may want to put restraints on her," She said looking at her other half.

"Why?" Zoro asked.

Nailah looked at him, her eyes were sad she didn't want this for her either, "You saw the rooms back at the navy base, didn't you?"

Zoro recalled the shredded rooms, one after another. The ones being fixed to hid any damage. "Restraints may be a good idea," He said even though he still didn't like the idea of it.

Once she was restrained Nailah layer beside her, "It won't be long before the hallucinations begin," she said sadly, "Your captain's memories are going to be worse on her."

"Stop…" Alex muttered. She opened her eyes but they all knew she wasn't quite there. They were that faded blue that he hated seeing.

Zoro grabbed her hand and said, "Alex, hey."

Still staring into nothing she whispered, "Am I really a killer?"

Zoro's chest hurt at those words. He hated the navy for what they've done. "No, no you're not."

"Blood, it's everywhere…" she began hyperventilating, "I'm drowning in it!" she yelled. Her eyes closed and she started thrashing against the restraints.

Brook said softly, "I'll play a melody." As the music played, Alex calmed down a bit. Zoro wondered what was she thinking about and they felt the Sunny begin to move starting their next journey.
