A/N: And here's the last chapter! Thank you so much to everyone who has favorite'd, reviewed, followed, or even just taken the time to stop and read this. It's been so long since Lightning Returns came out that I honestly didn't think anyone would look at it. So thank you! *bows*

This is a scene that came to my mind at the end of the game, when the finishing scene plays. I don't think it's too big of a stretch to imagine this as a possible scenario for Light and Hope. :)

Meeting You

Chapter Four: Epilogue

"Tell me again about Cocoon," the little white-haired girl said, snuggling down into the blankets as Light tucked them up around her chin. "I wanna hear more about those other worlds. I'm not too tired, promise."

In the doorway, Hope shook his head. "It's already past time you were asleep."

He watched as Light brushed the bangs off their daughter's forehead. "He's right," she murmured. "Go to sleep."

"But mama…"

"The crystal age is just a legend. It ended before you were born." She leaned down to kiss her cheek. "Good night."

The little girl sighed. "Goodnight, mama. Goodnight, daddy."

"Goodnight," Hope said.

As his wife quietly shut the door behind her, Hope asked wryly, "'just a legend'?"

Light smiled a little. "Well. I guess it is now."

"Hm. I've always liked the part about the l'Cie woman with rose-colored hair," he said musingly.

"You would," she retorted, but her smile grew.

"She was a champion, a savior, a goddess…"

She laughed. "Enough."

"…but she wasn't as beautiful as you." He grinned and kissed her.

Light stepped closer and slid her arm around his back. She combed her hands through the back of his hair and rested her chin on her shoulder. "I love you, Hope."

Hope grinned, letting his eyes fall shut as her scent, the delicate fragrance of roses, enveloped him.

He never tired of hearing those words.
