Prologue: Stargazing

Sakura could not contain her joy. She could not even sit still on the car seat and could not stop grinning either. "Is this for real? Are we really going there?" she kept on asking.

Sasuke snorted and then nodded for the nth time. "Calm down, Sakura… we're almost there" he muttered. He was focused on the road as it was night and the mountain-side road was not well lit.

Somehow, the pinkette squealed in joy. "Sorry, Sasuke-kun. But you've always refused me when I asked you to go there! I just can't believe that you suddenly brought me there!" she grinned.

Minutes later, they arrived at the mountain side. Sakura immediately unbuckled and went out of the car. Sasuke simply shook his head at his girlfriend's antics.

Sakura outstretched her hands as she inhaled deeply to the fresh night air. "Free from stress… away from people" She stated happily. Sasuke walked over to her.

"I'm glad that you're happy… I wonder why you like going here at night" Sasuke looked around. "It's too quiet and dark here…" he frowned.

"When I was in college, me and my friends used to go camping here… and most importantly, my parents used to bring me here, for stargazing!" Sakura said, as she tugged on Sasuke's hand and brought him somewhere.

They walked for awhile, away from the main road. Then they stopped. "Here… lets lay down here…" said Sakura. Silently, Sasuke followed her guide. They sat on the soft grass.

"Look, we can have a better view here. Away from the streetlight, and we can even see the city clearly from over here…" explained Sakura, while being observed by Sasuke.

"I see…" muttered Sasuke as he looked up to the sky. "You're right…the stars seem brighter over here…". He then lay down on the grass. Cold night breeze blew softly, as Sakura too, joined him laying on the grass.

"It's a great memory for me as a kid…" Sakura said after awhile of silent while Sasuke peeked on her. "—with my parents, as they brought me here. That's why I started to like stars. You know, this is one of the memories that I don't wanna forget about my parents…" she added.

"Now it's one of our memories too…" muttered Sasuke. He raised his hand in the air and pointed to the dark heaven. "Just like tonight's stars, the one that I'll never forget. And I hope you too, Sakura…".

Sakura looked at her boyfriend. She could felt something was off with Sasuke that night. "Yes… but where have you been earlier today?" she asked.

Sasuke sighed deeply. He thought for awhile, thinking of a good answer. "A meeting with my colleague…" he then said.

"I see…" muttered Sakura. Silently, she stared at the dark canvas of the sky once again. "I could stay like this forever… with you, Sasuke-kun…".

Sasuke's eyebrows knitted as he slowly touched Sakura's hand. Then their fingers intertwined as they both stayed silent, enjoying the stars above and the soft breeze on their skin. Meanwhile, Sasuke secretly peeked on the pinkette next to him.

"How can I tell her that I'm losing my memory? That I might forget her someday? That I'm painful inside?" Sasuke thought and then sighed softly. He looked up to the dark and distant sky. A heavy feeling in his chest was suffocating, tormenting that his grasp tightened.

"Ouch!" Sakura winced.

"Sorry…" Sasuke forced a smile despite the conflict he had within.

Sakura pouted slightly. Then she gasped and pointed to the sky. "A shooting star!" she exclaimed and immediately clasped her hands together. "Make a wish!"

"I wish…"
