The color of blood in the water, roses in the sky. Blended into a colorless mix of vibrant purple, cut cleanly into pink and blue. A pale, coral daisy drowning in a pool of ice, a rosy dove sucked beneath the silent waves.

Warm and cold, icy and passionate. Her eyes are the very definition of strange, yet people are still drawn to them.

Even though they look like droplets of blood frozen in ice, rubies splattered over an aquamarine ocean, we look into them and find

A blazing fire, an everlasting flame, fierce and protecting, warm and comforting. An endless ocean, a bottomless pool, brash and roiling, calm and still.

This entrances us. We see the pink-the soft rose quartz, milky salmon, piercing coral, all-seeing rose. Yet we see the blue, too-the freezing ice and the sapphire ocean, the aquamarine river and the icy stream, cold and composed.

The similarity is startling.

The opposition is hypnotizing.
