She had been in Europe just finished a mission when she got the call, and had boarded the next flight to Iceland. She was still in shock as the plane landed and was carted away in a SHIELD vehicle. She hesitantly walks into the room, a mask covering her face her breath misting in the cold. Her green eyes shining in unshed tears, her scarlet hair blown by the heater. Natasha looked down at the man in front of her, she smirked as she remembered the first time they had met, over seventy years prior.

Flash back

Steve Rogers was going over the details of a raid with Colonel Philips when there a knock on the door. "Enter" barked Philips, already in a foul mood. In walked a man wearing a uniform Steve has never seen outside of news reel.

"Good morning Colonel, I am Colonel Boris Voskov, counter intelligence for the Grand Russian Army." He said, his thick Russian accent made it hard to understand him. Philips glared at him for a second, "Colonel Voskovi, welcome I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow evening." He grunted "Captain Rogers and I were just discussing our upcoming mission together, please join us." Voskovi nodded and spoke something in Russian, which clearly wasn't meant for them. A quiet and clearly feminine voice responded and in walked the most beautiful woman Rogers had ever seen. She as saluted Colonel Philips, she said "I am Captain Natalia Romanov, sir." Her voice floated over to Steve, whose heart beat sped up for some reason. Steve's jaw was still hanging open which he quickly closed, however Natalia had already seen it and smirked at him, her eyes showing clear amusement at him.

Present day

She shook her head focusing on the present. On the table laid the famous Captain America, Steve Rogers, encased in a block of ice. His left hand was free of the ice as he was slowly thawed out. Natasha looked at her left hand as she leaned on the table, the diamond on her ring and matching wedding band, shining in the light. She reached over and grasped his hand, her rings striking a matching ring on Steve's left hand. For the first time in almost seventy years Natasha was able to hold her husband's hand, and she finally broke down.
